sad, why kuantan pahang deserve unifi at 2013?? sad.gif

See the rollout plan. It's mainly focused towards Klang Valley and Iskandar (Johor) right now since the demands are higher there than any other places in Malaysia. Once the service has been in place in both of these places, it should reach other places as well. In theory once there are enough users this would translate in cheaper bandwith (one reason why a long time ago TM decided to give free bandwith upgrades to Streamyx users)
QUOTE(zenghis @ Jan 14 2012, 04:18 PM)
Is the UniFi VIP20 has quotes or unlimited? I confused...
*

^-- this is a quote. What you are referring to is Quota. And yes is will be capped but not right now. It's a norm tho as bandwith is not free

Unfortunately a lot of cables go through taiwan and japan which is earthquake prone areas. When earthquake happen always damage cables.

A lot of the content we use is in USA,very problematic sad.gif
*

HK/Japan/Taiwan is a highly frequent quake zone. But that is the nearest and cheapest way to the West as we can use existing cabling. Unless the ISP are willing to invest on a new cabling using an alternate/longer route, then there is nothing we can do

Yea i agree.Pretty sux to be in Malaysia sad.gif

South East Asia you mean. But actually we have it better than countries like Australia where it's 70% more expensive to get an entry level broadband and they capped it much severely there due to the lack of bandwith available

Countries like Australia etc are throwing away or increasing caps due to more cables being layed so it is getting better. As for us i do hope that broadband quality will continue to improve cool2.gif
*

True. Oh well with more and more people using Unifi, let's hope TM will give free speed upgrade to existing Unifi users once they can recoup the cost

icon_rolleyes.gif  icon_rolleyes.gif But seriously... KL ain't a good place to stay in. My hometown only 1 shopping mall so what? I drive out to a place, drink drink eat eat then come back, don't even need 1 hour. Maybe 30mins also can. Only less than 10 mins needed in driving around my hometown. At KL, want go out do shopping, window shopping or whatever must think once, twice, thrice,..... Somemore can't go home anytime I want. Here jam jam there jam jam. hate it  doh.gif

Back to topic... My streamyx routing seems to have gone worst compare to last time I come back. Earlier time, 480p doesn't need buffer... Now buffer like shit... vmad.gif
*

I dunno lol. the reason I prefer KL than my hometown back in Kelantan is DUE to the faster internet. And heck, since I walk all around KL anyways I don't really experience the jam XD

Anyone using the Asus RT13U and having problems their router crashing after approx 24h of usage could try to disable the built in Wifi AP.

QUOTE(etsuko @ Jan 22 2012, 12:18 AM)
I've not been following the developments of Unifi but my sis-in-law feels we need to upgrade our Screamyx. Soo...I've a couple of questions I hope existing users would know the answers:

1. Can I continue using my existing SMC router instead of their Residential Gateway - I'm assuming RG is TMs router?

2. How many router ports does a Unifi installation use by default - 1 for BTU, 1 for DECT phone and 1 for STB?

3. Can I request the Unifi technician to setup the Set Top Box but not connect it to a TV - I'll hook it up to a TV in future? Because our current phone line is in a room on the 2nd floor of the house.
*
1 - No, since it's using it's own VLAN (500 for data and 600 for IPTV) and existing routers are not configured for seperate Vlan. You can get a third party Unifi configured router from lowyat plaza by Asus, TPlink and other vendors tho.

2 - Unifi will come with a modem that splits into a connection to your router (that will handle dial up) and your phone, Your router will not in any circumstances be connected to your phone.

3 - Yes, but usually they will ask to connect to a TV anyways as to test the service before you sign the agreement.

Currently using auto connection.

If the methods of auto or dialer are similar like Streamyx, easy.
*

The router do have auto dial similar to streamyx

Hmm having problems connecting to trackers for the past few days. Most of the time it will give an error "Tracker refused connection" or "tracker not found"
