I just installed Unifi and would grateful for some advise.
I still maintain my 1515 dialup email address ie xxx@tm.net.my and would like to continue using it. This address has very limited storage capacity as compared to the 2 GB at Unifi.
Is there a way I for me to make use of the 2GB storage capacity at Unifi and still maintaining my previous email address @tm.net.my

Ok Unifi Billing Date is on the 21st of every month, so new bill will always start on the 22nd.

Another thing is, you pay UPFRONT  by 1 month, unlike streamyx where you pay after you use the service for a month.

That pretty much explains the "shock" that unifi users receive when they got the 1st bill

I got charged RM200+++ this month apparently all the free channels they are charging money for it now? WTF?

CAT6 is just future proof. I think CAT6 caters for 10Gbps or 100Gbps(Either one) while now common used CAT5E caters 1Gbps. Got money sure use CAT6 la. 

There is no deposit for Streamyx but there is Advance 1 Month Payment when you get your 1st Bill for Streamyx. So, remember to get back your Advance 1 Month Payment or Additional 1 Month Streamyx Usage without paying anything when doing termination.

Hello, I need some opinion from experienced people here.

The unifi contractor came to my house today, they checked my house and said that the hole that connects the telephone line from the manhole to the telephone box in my house is too small, so they need to do some drilling and thus need to charge me about RM600+ extra, I think this is quite unreasonable and suspect they are conning me, I tried to negotiate with them but they left immediately soon after and asked me to find my contractor and make another appointment with them. What's your opinion in this?

ur unifi now is on fiber right?

the existing tel line can be used, but u have to disconnect the main cable from outside/pole at the "junction box" on ur ceiling/roof.

after that, just connect tel cable from unifi modem to 1 of the tel wall socket which ever nearest.
use splitter if u want to use telephone near the modem.

all other tel wall socket now can be use for ur telephone.

mine i didn't turn off for almost 12 mths now... but one thing.. make sure the router/btu is placed in a proper ventilated place, the best thing to do is install a fan to cool both down for maximum lifespan.

Zero entry fee, means I do not have to pay a single cents until my line is activated? first payment would be the monthly charge right? The streamyx line will be auto terminated or I have to do it myself?

Yea residential can apply for biz packages.People in this thread had done so. It just weird that paying extra rm50 can get you unlimited/ummetered bandwidth.
