any performance difference using the Asus RT-N16 vs RT-N12B1??

any guys here using VIP20 package? what is your average SpeedTest result?

is this normal for VIP20 package? upload speed is much slower than i expected.

how are you guys getting such speeds while i only getting this?

it is on wired connection. using Asus RT-N16 router with latest firmware.

maybe it's becoz i'm in a condo? VDSL limitations?

wifi coverage and internet connection stability? BIG difference.

also, i have another question:

i currently have my Unifi setup (modem and router, minus hypptv) in one room. i want to place my Hypptv box in my living room (where my TV is, obviously). I currently have an Asus RT-N12B1 running on tomato firmware in Wireless Ethernet Bridge mode near my TV. so far this setup works very well with my BD player and PS3, but when i connect my Hypptv box to it, it couldn't connect to the server. all other devices work fine. what can i do to solve the problem?

i'm on .96 FW. can FW versions affect uplink/downlink speeds?? i have not encountered any issues with wifi, etc. just very bad upload speeds. (see my speedtest results in my previous post)

will homeplug LAN help bridge my iptv to my router? (i live in a condo, so should be single phase)
any recommended brands that are compatible?

nice...thx. although klseet did say .96 FW cripples the iptv, rite? so i must downgrade to .84 or .74??

EDIT: .102 has just been released. damn...asus is fast. hopefully klseet can try it out to see if the problems are solved. then i can upgrade instead.

no. 2 is right.

looking at the history of TMNET, a bandwidth cap is more likely to happen. their business model is not like YES or P1. charging customers who use more data will only make them look bad.

i'm trying to setup my IPTV using the following items:

1) RT-N16 running on 3.0.0.3.84 (and also 3.0.0.3.102) FW from Asus
2) 2 x Aztech 500mbps Homeplug

The setup:
RT-N16---->Homeplug A---->Homeplug B---->IPTV

Settings:
1) STB port is LAN4 (regardless of FW used since already set by default.)
2) "Enable multicast routing" is ON
3) Connection between both Homeplugs are working. All 3 LED lights are green. Internet is working when i use my laptop via ethernet connected to homeplug.

Conclusion:
IT'S STILL NOT WORKING!!! IPTV can't connect to server.

P/S: IPTV worked the first time when TM guys came to setup my Unifi. but now modem + router is in another room, away from the tv.

klseet did advice to downgrade to .84 firmware or even .74 (didn't try it yet). but it still doesn't work.

Any advice??

nope, it wasn't working back then. but that was because i wanted to use wlan to bridge them, not wired.

i've tried connecting it directly too. it's still not working.

yes u can. i'm still using my old number with my unifi (mainly for calls and fax). i only terminated my streamyx account.

i live in a condo and still use my current number along with my Unifi (aloing with the new number that Unifi provides). although i do not know if this has cut my upload speed in 1/2...

wow...my pings are insanely high for some reason today. even singapore BF3 servers giving me crap pings.

I've just signed up for my Hypptv Platinum Package today via OCC. how soon do they normally activate it and how would I know?

IPTV is laggy for me as well now. Internet connection is still ok though.
