For Non-PVR B.yond decoders, when the banner is shown at the bottom of the screen, does the Info button work ?

QUOTE(nujikabane @ Feb 2 2012, 11:35 PM) Assteruk PVR B.yond has dual tuner. Normal B.yond only has one tuner. One tuner record, the other tuner watch TV. Or both tuner can record, or both tuner can be used for watching two channels using Picture-in-picture.QUOTE(nujikabane @ Feb 2 2012, 11:35 PM) unless you have those fancy TVs that have multiple windows to watch channels simultaneously I have one of those TV from the analog era. The TV has two tuners and can receive two channels at the same time, showing one channel as main and another channel in a small window. So I can confirm it exists(& I wonder if that TV even exist, LOL) This post has been edited by RAMChYLD: Feb 3 2012, 11:17 AM |

Actually, I think you can only. Dish network users can. I dun have PVR, I in fact already cancelled my Assteruk. I only have a nonworking normal B.yond decoder with the CAM card returned.
It's probably just Assteruk limiting their firmware for the evulz if cannot tho. This post has been edited by RAMChYLD: Feb 3 2012, 04:09 PM |

QUOTE NewSat is set to execute its satellite capacity deal with MEASAT Satellite Systems Sdn. Bhd. (MEASAT). The Australian satellite provider will provide transponder capacity to MEASAT on the upcoming Jabiru‐1 Ka-band satellite. The first satellite to be owned and operated by wholly owned Australian firm, Jabiru 1 will carry multiple transponders which will cover MEASAT's markets across South and South East Asia. The US$180 million deal will be finalized over the next two weeks. NewSat is yet to complete the technical specifications and execute the lease agreement for MEASAT's capacity on Jabiru. http://www.prlog.org/11789162-newsat-to-fi...ith-measat.html Good news, perhaps? |

QUOTE(neb @ Feb 4 2012, 01:03 AM) Was googling about Ka band and I came across this: http://www.gilatnetworks.com/data/uploads/.../gilat-vsat.pdf "Ka frequencies (~30GHz uplink & ~20GHz downlink) are almost twice the frequency used by Ku (~14GHz uplink and ~12GHz downlink). When high frequencies are transmitted and received in a heavy rain fall area, a noticeable signal degradation occurs and is proportional to the amount of rain fall (commonly known as known as “rain fade”). The higher frequency the more a signal is susceptible to rain fade. A typical Ku-band rain fade rate is ~1dB/sec while the fade rate in Ka-band is significantly higher at around 3-5dB/sec. Most new Ka-band satellites implement spot-beam technology to reuse the frequency band across the desired coverage area. As opposed to wide beams that cover large territories (e.g. all of Europe), spot beams cover much smaller territories (1/50 – 1/100 of the large territory)." With the description above, would this new generation of Ka band improve or at least maintain at the current Ku band performance involving rain fade giving that this new Ka band is using higher frequencies, but using spot-beam technology instead? |

QUOTE(smileguy @ Feb 2 2012, 07:46 PM) Well said ,we are all sick of astro's malaysianised versions, all the channels have lost their glory under astro's skirt! Even streamyx sucks and when then wl Unifi reach all? If ABN is not nationwide then it wl die like MITV for sure. well i guess there is no purpose 2 buy the latest n best TV ever now unless u watch bluray a lot when our own assteruk n free channels r still crappier than 6 feet underground This post has been edited by skylinelover: Feb 4 2012, 10:34 AM |

heard some rumours from other forum that Astro maybe will use 100cm dish (current dish is 65cm for byond, 60cm for silver dish).
