I just got the B.yond HD last two weeks..
I have a question, my byond decoder is not the PVR type. Is it possible for me to attach an external HDD at the front or back usb port for recording purpose?

Those ports are disabled to read any ext-HDD

If you need to record, either you need a PVR or a DVRecorder (media players that records)

Actually, it is possible. But you still need to pay AssThrow RM10 a month for the function and you need to go look for a particular hard disk model (WD Passport AV 320GB) because it only works with that one type of hard disk. Since that HDD model is now obsolete, it's a hassle to do so.

Correct, that if, you pay RM10 monthly which in turn would to turn it on and then search for the WD model, which is hard to get rclxub.gif

Assteruk is really greedy and/or stupid. Should make the decoder work with any hard disk, not just WD Passport AV...

Plus you can only record/watch 1 channel at a time with external hard disk, if you get the beyond pvr decoder you can do 2 because of the extra wires. I payed RM150 for my pvr decoder and installation.

The RM150 PVR offer has ended.... started when Astro introduced the SuperPacks.
Now is RM300 which includes
1. 2 x 20m RG-6 cable
2. Dual Output LNB (for the dish)
3. B.yond PVR decoder (lifetime warranty)

No as I think the software of PVR doesn't support it and in future is they enable this, I'm sure there will be extra RM5 charge on top of existing RM10 for recording?

One thing I hate about fiber optic tho: slow rollout. Wait for UniFi for over a year before they finally come. I thought ABN use C-Band or encrypted DVB-T like what I saw on a website. If they use Fiber, then they're sure to fail unless they also piggyback on TM's existing fiber, and even then they still cannot get as far as Assteruk. I really cannot see how they can promise lightning fast rollout if it even takes TM over one year just to come to Klang, and even now coverage in rest of Malaysia is still s#!t. ABN will fold up before they can even leave Puchong.

I also sick of Malaysianized offerings already. And Astro already have local in house channel. When I tune in to Disney, I want US shows. I dun want more local shows.

Well said ,we are all sick of astro's malaysianised versions, all the channels have lost their glory under astro's skirt! Even streamyx sucks and when then wl Unifi reach all? If ABN is not nationwide then it wl die like MITV for sure. nod.gif

Just wondering, do you mean by record/watch 1 channel at a time?

Coz it's obvious that we can only watch a channel at a time, unless you have those fancy TVs that have multiple windows to watch channels simultaneously
(& I wonder if that TV even exist, LOL)

& by record, do you mean that you can not record multiple channels at the same time ?
