Pls dun b angry, Bro... icon_rolleyes.gif
Services are there shld yu need it and by taking the Superpack, yu are actually saving oledi! tongue.gif

And Astro's offer of 1-time payment of RM150 for its PVR unit is so much cheaper than buying yr own HDD which is only 320Gb compared to PVR built-in 500Gb!!
More savings...? whistling.gif

Yr choice... icon_rolleyes.gif

Its a decided fact astro goes perfectly well on CRT's! No matter how good  our tv is Astro's PQ sucks and is crappy so its best dont use astro to compare our tvs! cool2.gif
*
Frankly I dun kno why there are users who find Astro SD prgs of crappy PQ. doh.gif

Personally, since upgrading to Superpack3 plus Byond PVR, even SD shows appear 2b better than when using old decoder! Those that I watch...on same "HD Ready" 32" LED TV... thumbup.gif

So possibly shld not use too large displays cos PQ wld b affected? tongue.gif

heard some rumours from other forum that Astro maybe will use 100cm dish (current dish is 65cm for byond, 60cm for silver dish).
*
Hope true...
And that existing Byond subs wld hv their OLD 65 cm dishes replaced!! whistling.gif
ATM 65cm ones do NOT make much difference at all!! sad.gif

Hi guys,

Wondering if someone here can help me out. Does anyone here have TV model TH-42PV80HM and knows which code to use for Astro's b.yond PVR remote control?

I tried all the Panasonic specific codes in Astro's manual and while I can get a few to work with the on/off button, none of them seem to work with the volume buttons (which is the important one to avoid "carrying" two remotes).

Thanks.
*
Chk the manual agin. Me rber got a "Search" option to match with TV...
Not need 2enter codes...tongue.gif

If press remote, the red indicator flash 2 times means battery low is it?
*
Nope...not so.
Flashing 2X is an indication that the code(s) /sequence of pressing certain buttons, are valid.

NB. As mentioned in earlier post, such info is in the User Manuals that come with Astro Decoders.

But then I cant change channel, let say i wanna go to channel 433.

i press 4, it appears on the screen and remote blinks twice and I cant input the next '33'
*
If cam get hold of another remote, try doing same. If other remote works, possibly yr remote is faulty.

New remotes available @Astro Service Centres @RM30 or clones in Malls, etc @RM10++ depending on type.

Ps. Mayb can claim for replacement since Byond Decoder comes with Life Warranty? Dunno if warranty covers remote or not tho.

Maybe on "VL" transponder setting instead "VH" laugh.gif
*
Can clarify why when using VL Settings eg @1. Measat 3, signal strength is higher than using VH Settings eg @18. Measat 3A?

Signal Quality for both is the same ie @100.

So shld Settings be @1 or @18?
NB. Installer used 1. Measat 3(VL).

Wld appreciate some understanding in choosing most suitable settings. TQ.

Btw can the signal strength be further improved by re-adjusting Sat Dish?

Hi guys, i'm getting hissing noise from my TV speakers on all astro's channels, not sure what was the problem...

the background hissing noise is loud especially during quiet scenes...

Don't think is my TV problem cuz other devices such as DVD, Ps3 works fine without any background hissing noise... icon_question.gif  icon_question.gif
*
Any settings changed recently...?

Is the Astro decoder connected DIRECTLY to yr TV?
If NOT & is thru HiFi/Amplifier or another medium, try connecting it DIRECTLY.
Also verify with yr nearest neighbour if they're hving same prob.
Do some elimination b4 calling Astro Cust Service.

Good luck... tongue.gif

I saw the installer use user defined settings. Izzit because of this?
I wanna try with line amplifier before and after install.
Sigh.

For satellite settings?
My installer din use user-defined settings but only selected one of those in list. Working well since installed last year. smile.gif

Nope, through TV speakers only... sweat.gif

If possible, try taking yr TV over to yr neighbour's and connect directly to his Astro decoder.
If no similar hissing sound, then it's yr connections or yr hse system.

If there's STILL the sound, then it's yr TV...then need 2send to the dealer for investigation & repair...

Simple elimination... tongue.gif

doh.gif doh.gif doh.gif

ps. If can, try retrace steps b4 hissing prob started.
Go thru step by step elimination...alwaz works to pinpoint source of prob.

Ok, Bro... If yu're so sure it's yr Astro prob, then a simple swap of the decoder wld confirm it's the prob or otherwise. Correct?

So....?? smile.gif nod.gif
