yes, agents can help in a lot of sense if your case is complicated.. but if yours is straight forward (enough points)
dont waste your money.. furthermore dont trust 100% on agents fact, do your own research as well..

for eg, especially for state sponsored visa where you are required to stay in the sponsored state for 2 years, but agents will normally said that it doesnt matter where you stay.. but in actual fact it does.. as your visa might not get renew.. (unless u have tried and not successful in getting job in the sponsored state and get release from them)

i am sorting out with my friends now. probably go in a group of 4 people. do u have any recommended agent? i realise that the purpose of hiring agent is to better understand the rules and regulations on visa application.

miko , thanks lot for ur advice. i'm not into post count just that i didnt know that this post can edit where i can reduce it. may i ask u a question that may sound silly ? let say i successfully get a working holiday visa and after working for a stipulated period, are my chances of securing a visa brighter? just curious
*
You can't reduce your post count but you can certainly stop posting single posts for various replies and just quote all into a single one.
Referring to the working holiday visa, if you are going there to pluck fruits (oranges, apples, grapes etc), chances are probably zero (if not zero) of them giving you an actual work visa. As again, the name "working holiday visa" is for you to go there and holiday while working to supplement your holiday. Get it? A working holiday visa is by no means a sure fire, guaranteed gateway to a permanent visa.

At least not for picking fruits.

If you and your friends are planning to go over to do fruit plucking using the Working Holiday Visa, you might as well just DIY. Tedious? Yes. Free? Absolutely. Agents will charge you exorbitant fees. It's only if you are applying for the other visas or even PR that an agent should be a consideration.

However, if you must absolutely get an agent to help you out with the Working Holiday visa, I can help you out for a small fee laugh.gif
But, first of all, complete your degree then you can come back to me to further discuss.

Btw, judging from your posts and content, I'd seriously recommend that you don't engage an agent as you have a high probability of being conned tongue.gif Just my 2 cents wink.gif

no such thing as 'brighter' after ur WHV.. and WHV is only valid for a year and a lot of employer (professional like IT) are not keen on hiring you since ur visa is temporary and u can only work for the same employer for 6 months (if its still the same rule) again.. read the details on the DIMIA website..

you still need to meet the requirements for the Skills Visa.. (no shortcut unless its Investment/Business visa where you are loaded)

if not you must have all the required points.. and remember that rules and even SOL list changes, so if Accounting is in SOL list now and you are studying accounting now, doesnt mean 2-3 years later (after you graduate) Accounting might be removed coz Aus already have enough of Accountant.. so be updated with the facts frequently..

Hey lokop, what is your main intention of migrating to Oz? The way I perceive is that you are thinking by coming over here, you will get rich. Hence, you even resort of coming here with WHV and work in a fruit farm to hasten your process of getting PR. If you are coming here with that sole intention, you may be up for some unwanted surprises if you really got your PR. Oz is not a wonderland like everyone is painting. It has its own problem as well. I believe a lot of lyns have mentioned that in the previous posts like unable to get a job, high living cost and etc.

Maybe you would like to hold your horses and give it a serious thought on what's your main motive of migrating to Oz. Is just my 2 cents worth though. nod.gif

For centerlink assistance for children, how do I determine eligibility? Just based on income or does it need to include assets?

Yes. There is an assets test as well for most forms of assistance.

Got a call from Rayford, after answering some questions the agent said I have enough points for skilled independent. Tempted to just let them be my runner as my job demands a lot of time but with $2500 charge.. :/

Don't think rayford has very good reviews too as what I've read from other forumers.

Also the agent said it'll take about 1year+ for the whole process from application to approval, sigh that's a little disappointing

Do you require non-Australian degree assessment? If you do that time period sounds about right.

skill assessment may take up to 3 months(you may do IELTS,etc in that period) and pr application will normally take up to 3 months depending on how many points you have. normally 65points and above can get a CO in a month time

Yes I do, am most worried about this step tbh, but agent said Uk degree shouldn't have any problems.

I'm rayford's client. well, their charges are higher than others during my time.
My advise is no matter who you engage with, make sure do your own homework. Don't wait until got problem then only saying agent not follow up.
Following are the mistake i pinned point them:-
1) Arguing on state sponsorship, eventhough my point already 65 points. still insist me to pay 1000 for getting statesponsor. I screw them coz i don't nd statesponsor. Cash sucking
2) Assess wrong occupation. I'm a QS, supposed to assess thru AIQS. They keep on insist i'm assess thru engineer board. Screw them 2nd time.
3) The worst of all picking somebody's file and saying my visa has been granted. whoa?!? i just engaged u 2 mths and without any documents being submitted can get visa?!?

Lifecare is another kind:-
1) We knew my wife having cyst in ovary. After medical check up, they said the doctor will put grades (Grade A - no findings, can proceed immediately; Grade B - finding unusual, might require further checking). So we thought that doctor to assess accordingly. waited 2 months, no news, called agent and checked DIAC officer. MEdical not received yet. Called Lifecare. My report still yet to send out. I asked why? They asked me to let my wife go thru surgery at once. I F*CK them thoroughly, tot surgery like changing tyres?!? At the end, no surgery being done.
The doctor came back to me. Ask wat Grade i want. Grade A or B? I F*CK them again! U're the professional/specialist, wat do u expect me to do? Money paid and ask me stupid question!
They sent the report within 3 weeks i get my PR granted.

The whole process are as follow:-
1) compiling document = 3months (delayed on previous owner letter reference)
2) applied = 6months (tat's when all documents provided)

So whole process is approximate 9mths for me but case by case issue

U've to follow up by making calls, check wat document left out. sometimes they might just leave ur document somewhere in the closet or lost!

Discipline urself on follow up

hihihehe

Slightly longer. The higher points you get, faster you will get the CO.You will be placed in the queue with everyone else who having the same point. first come first serve

But like whawt Nemesis said, know the process and get more information before go for the agent. TBH, I trust Internet more than the agent. They are not up-to-date and always give false information
