For centerlink assistance for children, how do I determine eligibility? Just based on income or does it need to include assets?

More to like a degree course like Engineering. It might not seem as "Ideal" as you think it is, trust me Australia has its downside, things like racism which are common.

engineering? i am doing a BA degree course now. almost finish studying. YEAH i knew d downside. discrimination is rampant, i had friends studying there. but the mentality is way "awesome" compared with malaysia. they are biased but i think adaptation is the key for long survival in oz. we are residing on foreign soil, so i can expect what might take place in future.

the course or skills i mentioned is something like u go thru TAFE to get a certificate. I think this is the way of 'short cut' to apply for visa. Please note that the fees for TAFE aint cheap either. Have to take into account that thousands of TAFE graduate is looking for job now for apprenticeship.

ACTUALLY i am doing business admin degree course now. this sem my last dy , will graduate next year. so i consider my highest qualification is stpm. and i know that fresh grad want to get admin job in australia is near impossible since they have their local grads which are more skilled. i dont mind the work hours or load, as long as i can land on a job there. i am used to being pressured so culture shock and stress i can easily deal with it since i went thru a lot of these and fully prepared. just wonder can i get land a job there? jobs other than my field is ok as long i am paid.

the only visa that you can probably apply for is working holiday visa. Unfortunately, this visa requires you to have a degree at least (well, all other visas require a form of tertiary education but this would be your easiest bet for a ticket to Australia legally for work). Read up more on the Working Holiday visa at http://www.immi.gov.au/visitors/working-ho...-visa-works.htm. This visa lasts for 1 year, yes it is renewable.

There are few ways for you to get a job in Australia but the most important thing is you NEED TO HAVE A VISA first. Of course, you can try to work in Malaysia and cross your fingers, arms, legs, toes that they'll transfer you over to Australia but this is usually only reserved for higher management (read: CEO,CIO, COO) or if you have a very specialized skill that they require. It's not just about your readiness for culture shock. It's more of what you have to offer. And with only an STPM cert, there isn't much.

IELTS will expire 2years from the year that you take. So you need to time it wisely. You can take it at British Council. It's RM 610. There are two streams for you to pick from: Academic or General Training. As you are still studying, they may advice you to take the former as the latter is more applicable for people who are working but I find that the Academic exam is tougher.

On general, I would recommend that you do more research about your options of migrating to Australia instead of wanting to move there because you "kinda love it" as a child. I also liked a lot of things when I was a child because I wasn't paying for any of them. This isn't meant to burst your bubble but judging from the way you posts, it appears that you are only trying to increase your post count.

Hi Guys,

is the the must to take IELTS before apply for VISA. I am in IT, i heard that it is super difficult to get job there.. is it true?

I has been looking for job in seek.com.au since 3 months ago.. but until now dont have any news..

Yes, you MUST take IELTS before you apply for the/any Australian visa. It is valid for 2 years before you need to retake, should you decide to apply for the visa. For the IT field, it depends on which specialization that you are going for. The Level 1 support is currently being outsourced to other Asian countries e.g. India, Malaysia. If you are in a niche market e.g. programmer, you may still have a choice.

Are you applying out of Malaysia and without a visa, Australian contact number and postal address? If yes, your chance is near zero (if not zero) of even being short listed.

How are you go for fruit picking? What's the visa you're applying for that job?visa 457?WHV?
Must beware on any agents who try to trap you for your money. I saw many people fell into this so called fruit picking job by paying large amount of money.
They'll say they guarantee you a job and visa to work in the local plantation. But you've to pay for large amount of money to get the job. Later, he'll disappear and you'll later put on newspaper for saying you being cheated.
People who worked in plantation must not SICK! No medicare available for them! Minimum working hours is 10hours.
I must say again, try not to take this risk. It not worth it.
Try to apply on the legal way.

i am sorting out with my friends now. probably go in a group of 4 people. do u have any recommended agent? i realise that the purpose of hiring agent is to better understand the rules and regulations on visa application.

no such thing as 'brighter' after ur WHV.. and WHV is only valid for a year and a lot of employer (professional like IT) are not keen on hiring you since ur visa is temporary and u can only work for the same employer for 6 months (if its still the same rule) again.. read the details on the DIMIA website..

you still need to meet the requirements for the Skills Visa.. (no shortcut unless its Investment/Business visa where you are loaded)

if not you must have all the required points.. and remember that rules and even SOL list changes, so if Accounting is in SOL list now and you are studying accounting now, doesnt mean 2-3 years later (after you graduate) Accounting might be removed coz Aus already have enough of Accountant.. so be updated with the facts frequently..
