supercharging it? hehe..
i think what sean says is quite true..
there is alot of factor you need to put in before considering to put in a stage 2 chip, in which after all the mods, you could opt for a higher model already
(please be considerate & think of the innocent)
by default  a jet can outrun your daily wira-lution and inspira-lution

a stage 2 chip can make your car gun faster, but what about the power to brake ratio? ceramic pads only good for certain period, 2 run and a half down at sepang, you will be having a bbq pads..suspension coil over? gearbox may handle the daily pressure, how about emergency downshift?

supercharging may be gunning it all the way, but what truely matters is your skill to control the toy..

i've seen many ppl with 300horsies down the hood but when it comes to taking sideways, they hit on the red as fast as they accelerate, even wira-boy dares to take sideways better than them
*
1.1k nia... for the chip mod... depends on what you want, if want a rally car of course it wont be enough... u wont be speeding all the time right?

if you wanna say this and that... in the end you will end up with bugati... just do what you need/want and be happy thumbup.gif

this 1 is working in sg forum ler, not fnf... lets stick to topic shall we? notworthy.gif

One very important thing that you need to find out as well; how is the broadband performance in your room/place.  It may be super good in one place but sucks at another.  So you will need to find out that information as well.  If not, after you sign up for say, 24 months, you will need to start crying.

then how could i find out? rclxub.gif

saw some ppl asking about rooms, so i would like to re-post this, which I've posted in V7.

A friend of mine rented the whole unit, corner unit 5-room HDB (meaning 3 bedrooms). He wants to rent out one of the common room for $700-$800 (negotiable). Location: Bishan, 10mins walking to Junction 8/MRT station. No agents involved.
PM me if interested.

different mang. mobile broadband you can use it for google maps to search driving, bus and train directions, etc etc. ~$11 per day is nothing, I'll gladly pay that amount to have that kind of convenience when you're on holiday in a foreign place.

Seafood International Market & Restaurant over at Big Splash over at the East Coast Park
Conclusions? The food is overall, just "okay." None of the dishes we tried were particularly delicious or outstanding ... so it's pretty standard for a buffet - quantity over quality! It's still definitely worth a trip once in a while, though, if for nothing else than to quaff cheap (and possibly fake) sharks fin, scallops, prawns and abalone!

fake abalone seriously ? hmm.gif

eh ... nolah the abalone was real. just ... very small. the 'possibly fake' part was just referring to the sharks fin; nowadays restaurants like to use these 'vegetarian' ones.

QUOTE(RabbitS @ Aug 22 2011, 03:23 PM)
hehehe, diff is the 1.4 twincharger is not just turbo... there's super charging as well... therefore doesnt mean all the power have to come from spooling the turbo.. usually above certain rpm the super charger turns off and the turbo kicks in... but i believe you can keep the super charger on all the way  rclxms.gif
Like you said, the supercharger is disconnected by the clutch at a fairly low rpm. From that rpm on, the turbine provides the boost. When it is at full boost, which is often because the engine is small, the turbine is small and the power output required is large - the turbine is run at the limits (I believe beyond) of it's efficiency. I reckon the oil coolant will heat up too much for the stock oil cooler and radiator to handle and the compressed intake air will be heated too much for the stock intercooler to handle.

QUOTE(RabbitS)
gearbox no prob... both the 6-speed and 7-speed dsg can take those power, brakes?
That's not true. Have a read of the VW forums. It's well known why the 6 speed wet clutch DSG is used for the GTI, R etc, but the 7 speed dry clutch DSG is limited to the lower torque models.

QUOTE(RabbitS)
just change to ceramic pads lor... caliper still can take it...
But can the stock hoses, stock seals etc take it? Are you sure the stock iron rotors can handle the heat of ceramic pads without warping?

QUOTE(RabbitS)
dont need change intercooler/radiator/oil cooler/ water pump/ oil pump... usually only trucks or rally cars need this as their turbo is always kicking in
1. Small engine + small turbine + high boost to create high peak power ensures that you will be on boost practically all the time. Question for you... have you ever driven a turbo car longer than 5 minutes? Unless you're off throttle most of the time, your boost will ALWAYS be kicking in. In fact, all the time. And if you drive "at speed" like on the NS Hwy, you'll be on full boost for extended periods.

2. I'm sorry, from this statement alone, I think you have absolutely no idea how to modify a turbo car and are just regurgitating whatever you've heard/read.
