QUOTE(Tigerr @ Jul 19 2011, 04:24 PM) Why MBS and RWS got anything to do with him need to downgrade his PR?? U mean he went there and gamble and lost lots of money? So, he must leave singapore to stay away from the 2 casinos? First, you can apply ban on him to enter the casino. Therefore he cannot enter the casino and no need to gamble away with the $$$, but there is always singpool, bookies and casino ship around. Even if he gives up his PR, he return to Malaysia, but there is also a Casino on the top of the mountain which he can goes everyday. No need to pay levy. I think the best way is to remain in Singapore and apply a ban to enter the casino, in Singapore, at least he still earning a decent SGD$$$ to pay off his debts. If leaving Singapore, can he make as much $$$ as he can make if he is in Singapore? Also, if in KL, he will still lure to visit the Shaolin Temple aka Genting Highland. Unless he goes to Sarawak/Sabah/Brunei where dont have casino. I am affraid too late for a ban.. he lost big sum of money... casino will go after him with the legal way so worst case is for him to declare bankurpt. If he lost it in underground den... QUOTE(r1v3r @ Jul 19 2011, 05:09 PM) monthly GIRO deduction? Thanks for the reminder. I just set it up online. DBS website didn't allow me to specify whether I want to pay lump sum or instalment. This means IRAS will automatically enrol me under the instalment plan, isn't it?

QUOTE(deodorant @ Jul 19 2011, 05:42 PM) How many tens of thousands you need to pay? It's quite kau this time around. Our new HR lady in Singapore suddenly started including the capital gains on our US-based stock options as taxable income. I swear somebody's going to hire an assassin when they start seeing their assessments.. You cannot start working until you get your IPA. So if it takes longer, who will be paying for your expenditures in SG when you have no job yet (or worse, MOM rejects) ?

There is lucky draw going on to "encourage" people especially public sector to pay by Giro.
