Not sure how to do it from DBS web. Should apply be from Iras web or return the reply form in iras letter. There is lucky draw going on to "encourage" people especially public sector to pay by Giro.
Should be okay kua. IRAS should send me a GIRO payment schedule in 2 weeks. If it's a lump sum, I'll just call them up and get them to change it.

Hi, just to check, for a PR holding malaysia passport. If i travel back to Msia and renew my passport, what do I have to do? Going to the ICA site and renew or transfer my REP to a new passport?

At the same time, do i have to send my passport to ICA for stamping?

Sorry, abit confused on this. Can someone shed some light?

Iras service if friendly. I went there once to print my record for PR renewer it was then the lady staff helped to setup my giro.

To the rest of new comer : remember to file and keep your original Iras statement and payment record. You will need it when you have to deal with ICA. Else it is $20 per copy.

Happened to me, got my passport renewed recently last month
1. at the immigration counter when coming in to SG... u need to show him the printed REP and if possible the old passport with stamping.
2. no need to fill in the white card
3. go to ICA and do transfer of the stamping (endorsement)
4. celebrate

Now i have a concern about renewing my PR status which is due next year.
Anybody got experience in it?
what is the chances of rejection?

I went back msia to work for 2 years... thus no taxes paid that period, but did e-filing
will that help? or raise my chances of rejection?
went ICA and as on the PR ship renewal... was told to do it online. like no info... haha!

Search e-REP on ICA web. Can do online with singpass and you need a printer.

When return to sg, show the old passport as well. If you have not transfer your REP to newpassport, they will normally Let you off but "remind" you to go ICA for REP transfer.

I just done it few weeks ago, just follow instructions to GIRO from the DBS website and u should receive some kind of reply from IRAS in 3 days or so. This kind of payment is better to GIRO bcoz it has no benefits by paying the whole lump sum. U will only get some kind of receipt to thank you for contributing towards nation building. tongue.gif

I don't have the ICA rubber stamp on my passport after I did the e-REP transfer online. No problem at all.

I have not come across a case where they reject your REP. You void your PR if you leave SG without valid REP, no joke fir this. Custom normally stop you before you leave country. I saw group of people cancel their trip just because one of the member have this problem.

If you did not meet the min stay requirement or the cpf contribution requirement, they will still give you shorter term of REP. Else it is 5 years max.

Go ICA web, you need to make an e-booking and print out some form and document that tell you what to do next.

My cousin just got his job today during his 1st interview as an Accountant in an automobile company. His job require him to travel frequently to KL which is good for him because he from KL.

The company can save hotel costs bcos my cousin can stay at his house whereas he can go back to KL frequently at the expense of his company.

Damn, so lucky of him.

He will get $45 daily allowance only. Don't think the company will provide any accomodation allowance despite staying at his own house.

Any of you guys heard of ppl giving up PR and reverting back  to EP ? One of my fren is considering doing so bcoz he needs the CPF money back .
*
so desperate ar? laugh.gif
QUOTE(Supreme Allied Commander @ Jul 19 2011, 03:14 PM)
Thats what i suspect too. He needs to leave SG inorder to get the total amount. Another thing is getting the EP itself, chances to getting it back is low considering the current situation. Having said that he does not need to contribute that monthly 1k for CPF which helps alot financially.

short term he gains, long term he loses out... unsure.gif

At least in the states, in particular houston has some shooting ranges where one can rent weapons for shooting sessions.

Big or small, your size is the same. The factor that determines whether you are big or small is the size of the pond

Big fish in small pond, how much u are fed = small pond amount, and small pond restricts you to swim and grow, and be contented and stagnant as 'big' fish in small pond.

Small fish in big pond = bigger space to grow fatter and FATTER

People out of the pond will not know you as a big fish from the small pond, but even a small fish from a big pond will make an impression.

I think IRAS does the assessments in batches. No way they can do everybody's all at one go.

If he's hired as a SG employee, and he is required to travel to KL, the company should be providing accommodation in KL.

If he chooses to stay at home, it could be that he forgoes the accommodation... but if I were him, I would negotiate with my boss. Give him 2 choices... I get my full business travel accommodation ie. hotel stay at RM300 per day or alternatively, the company gives me per diem... say RM200 per day - for a win-win compromise. But he should not simply forgo the accommodation empty handed... at least I wouldn't. I rather check into the hotel to spend the company's money and then go home to sleep.

Agreed. Unless it was specifically negotiated during the interview that your cousin would stay in his own house in KL (i.e., it was one of the reasons that the company hired your cousin in the first place).

Otherwise, it is unreasonable for the company not to provide any accommodation.

Yup, i not too sure why the company take him also but i believe one of the factor is bcos the company can save accomodation expense in the long run.

But at least he still got $45 = RM110 daily allowance which i think is super sufficient for him to have 3 good daily meals in KL.

Besides, in the long run he can save on his own traveling to and fro KL too unlike others who need to fork-out his own money to go back to his/her hometown.

My hero in negotiation is my previous supervisor, who moved from our KL office to SG as a local employee and after a while, was sent back to KL on a full expat package.
