One site call for date of joining, another side ask for date of interview..
*
well....if u do join u would be still in probation period right?...
in the meantime i'm sure there will be enough time to attend the other side's interview....
so y not join 1st...then see how....because even if your other bigger MNC company offers u..they'll still need to get thru MOM's approval 1st..before they can officially hire u...my 2cents

Any of you guys heard of ppl giving up PR and reverting back  to EP ? One of my fren is considering doing so bcoz he needs the CPF money back .
*
if wanna withdraw your CPF money as a PR, he/she wont be able to revert back to EP or whatever work passes.....the singapore government will not allow you to work in SG anymore in his/her lifetime.

nono, u misunderstood his meaning, he said, if ur friend wanting to get back the CPF, he/she have to revert back his/her PR status and FOREVER CANNOT WORK IN SINGAPORE ANYMORE. There is a FOREVER word.
*
YES..that's what i mean, its like u have to severe your working relationship with singapore if you want to take out the CPF amount....i'm also contributing to CPF....also feel the pinch....

of course you can always come back in to spore BUT as a visitor only....

oh ok haha i understand now , I told him he may never get his CPF money back unless he gives up everything in SG. At least if he reverts back to EP he saves on the 1k contribution monthly , is that correct ?
You see there is not plan B for ppl like him . Have you heard of RWS and MBS ? HIs problems are irreversible haha. The only logical solution for him is to leave SG.
*
I'm not sure if anyone can just 'downgrade' from PR to EP from your own end. BUT i've heard back then before Singapore GE...that someone when wanted to renew his/her PR...got rejected and was given EP to continue on. Again that's what I heard...

Hi,

Anyone know what are the minimum requirements to apply for PR in Singapore?

My girl friend's application got rejected recently. She's holding P2 pass and has been working in Singapore for 1 year 1 month when she applied for it. 2nd company in Singapore.

Cheers,
Amos

Added on July 19, 2011, 4:33 pm

So far all mine were immediate within the same day or next working day. 3rd job in Singapore with P2.
*
Maybe because she moved jobs within a short period?
Is there a cool down period stated there when her PR application got rejected? If yes...how long is the cooling period?

No...this only applies to singapore PR....the re-entry permits allows a singapore PR to go out and come in again as a PR

Hopefully the COE prices drops man.. a VW polo is about 120k.. crazy.. lucky thing owning a car here isn't a need..

10% year on year increase may be hard to sustain, especially as the salary gets higher and performance/demand is average.. i will try to apply for PR once i hit the 6 months mark.. no harm trying.. probably get rejected haha..
*
COE price wont drop anytime so....because from my thinking...when there's NO ONE giving up their COE...the pool of available COE gets smaller and smaller....will proabably have to wait another 7-10 years time when all these recent high pricing COEs comes to an end...

not exactly cheap either.....u could get around SGD50k for an Altis...but left like around 5 years more on the COE....so its not cheap as well..
unless u r opting for a 2nd hand OPC car....

Mackiddo....there's no specific rule that states from JPJ's website that one is allowed to drive a malaysia registered vehicle with another country's driving license...in this using a singapore driving license

Also my MY driving license WAS NOT cut plus I did manage to renew my Malaysia driving license at the start of this year 2011...
while I've managed to convert my SG driving license like 3 years back already...and am still holding a valid SG driving license
