i have indeed checked this up w my HR for my fellow jn engineers. Ans:- 1st time renewal aft 1 july 2011 will be on default ori EP to EP (eventho ur salary on renewal is at 2500/mth). However ur 2nd renewal (aft 2yrs) will be automatically be downgraded to WP if u do not meet the min 2800/mth for EP-Q1

downgrade to S Pass la. And it really depends la. Some people doesn't get higher than $2.8k but still can get EP.
I was on S Pass previously, my pay just hit 2.5 this year. and my employer applied to upgrade my pass. they submit the application on 15th July.
My upgrade got approved. since the news said that the 2.8 thingy starts on 1st July, so i will say EP or not EP depends on a lot of factors.
at the same time, my colleague, around 30 years old, working same post as me, salary higher than me. got diploma but his application for upgrade got rejected.

FYI, I am not a degree or diploma holder. highest qualification only STPM.

I hate HR ppl the most.
They make us wait wait wait and wait...
(sorry if you are one of them)
cz all the HR ppl that I dealt with are very irresponsible and extremely lazy!!

Yes, i agreed. MOM's approvals has been subjective. case to case basis.

But HR caused part of the delay too.
Have been submitting all my documents to HR for a whole week but then he havent submit to MOM yet! mad.gif vmad.gif
Driving my patience to max..
and can do nothing to him..

when everything is out of your control, what will you do? Sit down and wait patiently... ranting over and over the forum won't haste up the process. I would pray for your pass approval and please have some faith..

probably you not in the working world yet that's why you don't understand. HR needs to take care of lots of things in the company. and they will therefore prioritize all their tasks based on what the company needs. and like it or not, the company doesn't *need* an intern.

what i mean is that to you, this TEP application is the most important thing in the world. to the HR guys, it's the least important.

same like my situation
my final interview was on 21st of July where the HR wanted to finalize my salary
they offered me 2500sgd. I tried to negotiate that i want 2800 because it will grant me an EP
instead of WP. But they insisted that they can still get me an EP with 2500, which they did.
If not i would be offfered 2800 oreddi!

mine is above 2800 but can't get EP sad.gif just curious, if my salary range is at EP range possible for me to apply S Pass? is S pass easier to obtain than EP?

I just try to express my opinion and my bad experience with HR ppl.

Pls, if it happens on you, where the HR drag for whole week,
what will you feel then?

And I have my own reason and ambitious of why I want to work in Singapore.
It is not up to you to judge nor I need to tell you my reason.

And pls, dun come out with the reply that
"you have to compete with many other ppl better than you from all over the whole.."

Just to share my personal opinion with you. In many companies, HR is just one of the worst department and many not so good staffs are there. It is due to they dont have high qualification and that's why they resorting to do HR job. If they have better qualification, they wont be sitting in the HR department as chances to get promoted and get high salary is much slimmer than other department. However, there are still some good staffs who enjoy in HR type of work. So, in the real working life, you need to encounter every type of people, first you encounter the bad experience with HR and you already hate them. Next, when u got a job, you probably will face many unco-operate people from within department, inter department, inter sister companies, clients and etc etc....R u going to hate all of them???

The same problem as the HR also can say that they hate interns as they "kacau" them alot....and expect them to do this and do that for them...... rclxub.gif

your HR dept has done the application for you and unfortunately your application failed.

this is very simple and why cant you understand?

all the HR not doing work or not helping you to appeal were merely your guesses. i dont think it is good to point your finger at anyone before you confirm.

why are you so desperate to coming to spore to intern? like i said earlier, it will not be easy. you can always come to work in spore later with your complete education.

you say you are not blaming anyone but you sound as you are. if you carry on the attitude like this, i dont think you will go far in your career.

U didnt follow my whole story I guess.
Previously a company helped me applied, failed.
Appealed and failed. << yes, she did helped me to appeal. I am sorry for the wrong guess previously

Then as suggested by forummers, I leave it and move on to other company.
Currently what I am saying is already the second company that help me to process for the working pass.
I think you missed out the scenario.
This time I am not guessing, but is confirmed that he havent helped me to apply yet.
Cz the HR just contacted me. << not guessing this time


Well, I am thinking, why want to go through all the messes to apply for TEP?
Isnt WP is easier to apply since it does not requires a degree cert? Well suited for my current situation.
But the company must willing to pay the levy in the first place, right?
