im eager to learn this tablet things as my exposure to this segment is very limited. I wanna buy one, but still not deciding what tablet shd i buy. read from few sources that Galaxy tab 10.1 in coming, but not sure the price.

If you guys were to buy a tablet, shd you wait for Galaxy tab or just this this simply awesome TF?

depends back on u... do u need the keyboard? cos if u don, then u should go for Galaxy Tab, as our TF design, all the USB ports are at the keyboard, so u need to dock to use the USB support but galaxy tab need the adapter or something eh?... apart from that, it's just slight difference in software, hardware spec is the same
alternatively, u can look at Acer Iconia... i think that one will already have the USB ports there

we all bought this babe cos we love hardware keyboard XD

Wait for Galaxy tab if you need want the latest and thinnest and lightest Honeycomb tab, but i'm sure it will cost more than TF

yes, Iconia on the other hand have the USB port on board

but yeah, bought this babe due to its ability to Transform. Although i don't use the dock daily, but i do appreciate the Transformation when i use it. Its a very solid solution smile.gif

my bad... go thru wiki and check just now only notice need adapter... already edited my post...

plus, we can get the "laptop experience" with splashtop too... lazy lazy lying on bed with TF, just remote to laptop and control it from TF, just tested it last night.. nice, but need improvement cos it's low quality color, and stream was kinda laggy, and u cannot run full screen applications

Unlikely, see the Singapore prices for the Tab 10.1. It will cost the same as the iPad 2 here down to the last single ringgit I'd bet.

Maxis may be the one to bring it in and as usual jack up the price together with their plans.

How would Maxis bring it in and jack it up when only the Wifi model is available now?

From user experience point of view, I would say ipad is better than TF. Why? Not totally Asus's fault but also google.

Imagine that, I don't have to worry about common apps (such as skype) can't be downloaded from appstore, if it is restricted to region, you can simply get a US account and that's it, you don't have to hack here and there, passing thru this proxy that proxy to get access to the market.

Where the experience of using this tablet, I would say bad... first it comes with the market issue where you can't even download the flash player (ya, this sounds lame) and it keep asking you to download. Application keep crashing, keyboard lagging issue in the default browser. Since we have one default browser, why should I pay for dolphin or some other 3rd party browser? Just because of keyboard lagging? Compare this against safari in apple, no such problem.

There are a lot more issues than the above mentioned but I will just stop here.

Anyway, I am a TF, ipad and iphone user too.

Yup, iPad might be better choice. But i feel that too many people around me having an iPad. I want to try android product or just wanna support android, by buying their product, so that they have enuf money to do more research and make it a better standard. I still believe future will be android/open OS. biggrin.gif

same here, TF + iPhone user too... i do agree to what u said, but i kinda having fun flashing my TF to different kernal/roms for now... tweaking this and that so that my TF would be more unique, i been missing the fun of this since i changed to iPhone
while i actually bought TF and expect booming amount of games for tegra, this hasnt been realized yet, so i guess i'll just have to wait while my iPhone delivers more variety of games for me..
with that, i would say, if u just want simplicity with the compensation of less choice for tweaking and needs to jailbreak the device for more options, iPad would be better, from what i see, android is more about giving more choice and control to users

yes, the fun will start in Ice-Cream Sandwich i think, where fragmentation ended and we wouldn't have limitations on apps are not compatible with phones or tablet.. i still hope we can get native AC3 support, along with more performance boost so that we can play generic HD contents without the need of decoding

Softwaredevelopers for Ipad spend time to build an app and after that Apple will decide if it gets to the market or not.
Giving a company ( Apple ) the power to decide what people can do with their devices would be a big mistake.
The creative developers and the consumers should decide what the future will look like and not a company which only motivation is making money. That's why I will stick with Android, avoid contact with apple products and hope the TF will become known as an ipad-killer.

ipad lack a lot of customisation options and freedom that android has. with android you have access to external storage unlike ipad. again depend on your usage and preference. i prefer an OS / system that is customisable than a closed one like ipad - no flash, no file manager, no external storage, no widgets...boring tongue.gif
