Not sure man, I'mon stock rom for 1 or 2 days only,but so far everything is great. Main reason i flashed this rom is because that time no official 3.1yet. From what i see the difference is root, some deodex files and awesome boot sequence haha

That's because it can't overwrite your existing live Wally. You need to remove it via adb or root explorer and of course you need to be rooted

For 720p movies mkv , it will play smoothly if the encode is using base profile. However most of the source available for download from internet are most likely encoded using high profile.

Yes iPad 1 or 2 both have bleeding issues and iPad 2 is as prominent as Transformer. Lotsa my friends noticing the bleeding on their pads too.

Oh and with regards to ad hoc wifi conectivity, our transformer are not capable of it by default, in fact no honeycomb tablet can.however, if you are rooted then it can be done. All u need to do is to replace the wpa_supplicant file with a modified one. The file and steps can be easily found by googling or xda forum :-)

whatsapp don't think can work with tab since it requires a sim to register your number, that's your id.

Skype is available in market, I can search and install without problem. not sure bout pingchat though...

anyway I use the proxy method and it works beautifully, immediately after signed in to market through proxy, I've removed the proxy setting and surf market via direct local internet without problem.

coupled with market enabler, I can also surf US market in case the apps I want is nit available in malaysia market :-)

not sure bout whatsap man, just now I tried to install it, it says can't recognize my device during installation :-( so I assume its looking for a sim or something messed up.

so iPod also can use what's app? nice ... I've email whatsapp support asking about compatibility with our tabs, see what they replies if they replies haha

for u guys that are facing lag typing in website especially here in lowyat.net and xda-developers.com give opera mobile 11 a try.

it seems to completely solve the laggy typing for me irregardless of asus keyboard or honeycomb standard keyboard. Now can feel the power of multitouch capable keyboard cause no more lags :-)

erm chrome sync not useful to me at all compared to the lag free typing I'm enjoying now. anyway, if u have plenty of bookmatks that u need to have then u can make use of opera link and do the import from PC then sync to your tablet.

ps : on notebook my main browser is Firefox :-P

ad-hoc also known as peer to peer networking

the wifi router u use at home are called infrastructure mode. Certain phone's hotspot are capable of infrastructure mode, therefor Transformer will have no problem connecting to those as it is identical to connecting to the wifi router at your home.

However, certain phone/apps that creates hotspot for your phone does not actually support infrastructure mode, the hotspot created are normally ad-hoc mode. Exactly like what littlekev's problem above, he create hotspot via Iphone, transformer don't see it (cuz dun support adhoc) but pc laptops all sees it (cuz window support both adhoc and infrastructure mode natively)

Solution:
For non-rooted users: Too bad, find a proper infrastructure wifi network unless your Phone are able to tether via bluetooth. Your transformer is able to connect to bluetooth tether

For rooted users: read this Ad Hoc Wifi Hack and enjoy , actually this hack is available for most android phones/tabs

aiya u guys, no point mumbling over here . if really want to express your dissatisfaction then go over to the asus malaysia page and voice your view/opinion/recommendation, at least they will see it.

I'm not sure what u guys doing wrong with the proxy method but 3 of my personal friends all are successful using it on their transformer.

now they all download from market as normal just like me.

try to follow the instruction to the letter , it should work

press back until u reach home then click the shortcut again, if still fail then try to recreate the shortcut.

1. Download and use anycut to create shortcut to hidden proxy setting
2. Get a us based ip port proxy from hidemyass or just google it
3. Set proxy setting to any proxy you pick
4. Remove your account from pad/tablet from account & sync in settings
5. Run android market, re-enter your account
6. I think you can remove the proxy after this as it is no longer required (after the next update or whenever android market cache is cleared)

these r the exact steps we took. I think the main point to make this successful is step 2 and 4. make sure in step 2 u get a working US proxy (planetlab n codeen proxy will not work)

Added on June 6, 2011, 11:42 pmerm guys, u guys didn't read the step 6 in the instruction? once u have log in to market while connected to proxy, the "cheat" is consider successful.


you can now remove the proxy details so that u have direct connection to internet and still use market! no need to keep going through the proxy :-)

strange, I did this 1 time and my market has been working since then. rebooted quite a few time and its still working. Haven't got the need to redo the "cheat" at all yet, hopefully no need la haha

how is firefox on transformer ?? is it still sluggish like on mobile ???

anyone notice that after upgrade to 3.1, the browser doesn't highlight the link u click anymore. So sometimes you doubt whether u have click the link successfully or not haha

Tried other browser such as miren and dolphin hd, both also same like stock browser behavior. Luckily Opera Mobile still highlight the clicked link properly. So now using it most of the time but it doesn't handle flash as well as the stock browser

vibrator can be use mainly for haptic feedback during touch screen activities or keyboard usage.

other than that, games can also make use of it to enhance the gamers experience ala ps3 dual shock
