I'm using MoboPlayer can play most movie formats without issues but when I try with .MKV files no sound only video. Still figuring out how to properly play MKV.
*
it's because the audio is in AC3 format, and there's no AC3 codec yet for android, not that i know of... but then again, i'm still new in android, so any experienced user here have any methods that gets AC3 playing pls let us know biggrin.gif

Hey all,

I'm one of the ppl who got the pre-order from Evernew last Saturday. Still waiting for my KBD... TS please add me in k? wink.gif

Regarding the card issues, I bought myself a Sandisk 32GB (Class 4) online. I've really got no confidence that 16GB built in is enough for me, as planning to store movies n music in it, and also comics. smile.gif I did some googling on sd cards (cause I heard got fake SD cards before... it's possible, even external HDD also got fake!), and some forums mentioned that even though the cards are rated at class 6 or 10, the reliability of the card may not be all that good. Read up on the reviews of the brands u intend to buy, before making your decision.

I noticed something about my TF today, when I move away from my office Wifi, obviously the connection will die off, but when I come back, the Wifi option on my TF is showing "shutting down" and can't be ticked (it's faded). I tried turning the airplane mode ON and OFF, but the Wifi still stuck that way. Only can reboot to get it working again. Anybody faced this problem? I'm using WW 3.1.
*
i faced same issue with bluetooth also, seems like it's some bug in setting, to solve it i also just restart my device

so, after rooting we cannot receive FOTA from asus eh?
*
u can see and download the newer version, but when u try to install it it will fail...
it's because the rooted firmware uses some different recovery tool from the default one, and some changes on the kernal also disallow the Asus original firmware to be installed on it...

anyone succeed using marketenabler? i'm still stuck with "country error"  sad.gif
*
market enabler will not work on us, it only worked on phones cos it change the sim operator number, which is how phone's country is detected... for us i think they track our IP address, only way discovered to solve the market issue so far is to use proxy

sorry, newbie here. can this eee pad connect to 3G broadband???
*
if u mean does it have built in 3G, then no, it doesn. But i think future driver pack/firmware will enable us to get online using USB modems(hopefully)

alternatively me and some other ppl are using phones to tether so that we can go online when we are on the go

for the keyboard issue, go to Browser->Setting->plugin, choose "On Demand", this will disable the flash on the site, and allow u to tap to activate that certain flash only if u want to, this will reduce the overall browser lag, and improve the keyboard input... honestly also, most the site i browse the flash are actually ads, so i use this setting for better experience

can give more detail about this
bcause i change the proxy at hidemyass, change the port but there no hostname so i just put anything ..
but after that it can't connect to my wifi ..
need to cancel the proxy and my wifi works again
*
u go HideMyAss, the top there, click on the IP:Port Proxies
filter with the following: Country: US, connection type: HTTPS, Connection Speed: Fast, Connection Time: Fast, Anonymity level: up to u

to go the short cut u created, type in the IP, the port number type in the Port field, and "bypass proxy for" leave blank. try connecting to internet using browser first, cos some proxy wont be up for so long, while some other takes forever to reach, so u need to do some testing on which proxy IP is best for u... and everything u use proxy u'll need to do this again, but normally connection should be good to go after 1-2 tests

Bro.... Can advice how to update to 8.2.3.13
*
1) u go to asus global, find Transformer page, click download, then select ur OS as "Android"
2) download the WW firmware(remember to double confirm it's WW, not TW nor US),it's a zip file, and it's gonne be around 200+ MB if i remember correctly
3) after finish download, extract it out the zip file, u will see a folder "Asus", with some contents inside
4) copy the whole "Asus" folder to your memory card's root
5) take out the memory card
6) put it back in
7) u will see the notification there, it will have a triangle notification saying "System File Detected"
8) tap on it, and it will say "Tap to confirm upgrade" or something similar
9) tap on it, after a few confirmation message, it will start reboot and flashing.
10) have fun thumbup.gif

this flashing method will keep all your apps and data, so don worry about losing them, also, u can downgrade your firmware using this method as well
for unrooting, i think need to adb push the stock blob back to the device, this method as i recall will not work

I have problem for the transformer to detect my wifi hotspot that created by my iPhone. Anyone did it before?

I was trying to use PDANET and myWI in iPhone to activate a wifi hotspot. Other windows based desktop and laptop are able to detect the SSID but not in transformer. I even try to manually key in the SSID and password but still can't use. Anyone knows why and how to overcome this?
*
same problem here, the reason is because the iPhone's network is an Ad-Hoc, and so far what i understand is that Transformer default WiFi config(that we cant change) filter off Ad-Hoc networks, if u want tether using iPhone, use bluetooth tethering, works like a charm for me...

also, for WiFi users, avoid using channel 13(dunno about the rest), the last time my router automatically choose that channel, my transformer cant detect its network anymore

Must be memory card? Can I copy it to a USB drive instead?
*
don think so, cos the device reads recovery/update files from the built in memory card slot, even last time when the stock 3.1 is leaked, ppl also update it by putting the leaked firmware into the memory card... if you don have a memory card, my suggestion is to get one, since u might be needing it anyways..

btw those who reencoded their videos to make it play nicely on transformer, what software u used?

I tether TF wit my iphone via wifi hotspot and no issues yet.

still cant get around the country market issue
sigh
*
native 4.3 hotspot tethering? havent updated mine yet, so not sure how that tethering works... otherwise, those using MyWi or PDANET, it would be confirmed as Ad-Hoc networks

GameBoid, and some other cool emulators from YongZh, more emus over here:
https://slideme.org/user/yongzh
*SlideMe is a third party market, so it's not some warez link. However, if mods still think this link should not be posted, please do let me know, i'll remove it

for File Manager, Astro File Manager is not bad, it has grid based view, which is rather similar to typical windows file manager

i use formatfactory (google it and it is freeware) to convert to divx/xvid, bitrate 2400/2500 then use yamb (google it again) to split the mp4 files to two parts so that it can be played/loaded up in rockplayer / moboplayer software decoding mode. seems that these players cannot "see" or load anything above 2gb of size, hence the splitting. Minor inconvenience but it works and you will get super smooth playback with 0 lags or jerkiness. You can play in hardware mode too but u will notice (like myself) that there is a minor lag / jerkiness in the video, the audio sync is ok but the video is somewhat jerky so this is the best method i've found so far to have smooth playback.
*
still no way to support AC3 playback on our device? i start to hate Asus for not getting more license on codecs, look at Sammy, can already play almost everything out of the box for the codecs they bought...

native playback i think cannot but no choice la, this is software issue, since we can use moboplayer / rockplayer as alternative, i dont see it an issue for me but quite troublesome to reencode the videos then need to split it again some more, but to me as long as it works, a bit trouble is fine although i prefer native playback for sure smile.gif

android uses java also right? thinking of learning on its coding... for profits and funs
