guys, silly question, it says that TF got 1gb RAM, but why does in running apps, I could only found a total of ~520mb only? -- the one that shows how many RAM is used (~140mb) and how many are free(~380mb)
where does the other 480mb went to?
*
With Mini Info it detect 729MB RAM... still don't know where another 295MB go... GPU maybe..?

I always charge my tablet with my dock. I heard its not good to charge together? Is it true?

I feel the battery was superb for the 1st month i use. Now i think it drains faster especially when im not using it.
*
I also charge with the dock... So far so good... battery drain still the same for me... still recharge after 24 hours with dock battery around 40%...

when u just close, u see it's total dark there inside, then u continue look inside, u notice suddenly bright again, then i try really slowly opening up the lid, and i notice the LCD is already on when the lid was tightly closed... not just causing more battery, might also cause ghosting in later months

bro, check this out...it might help, stumbled on it when searching for the ram usage.

http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1151788

Back to the ram issue,
if out of the box the free space was about 14gb+, then honeycomb should occupy around 1gb+ right?
considering that its a shared ram, then OS + Tegra should take around 500mb of ram.
well...i think its an appropriate ram distribution nod.gif
even win xp needs something around that

Pentium 233-megahertz (MHz) processor or faster (300 MHz is recommended)
At least 64 megabytes (MB) of RAM (128 MB is recommended)
At least 1.5 gigabytes (GB) of available space on the hard disk

laugh.gif do comment if my self-explanatory of ram usage doesnt make sense laugh.gif

about charging, i believe the xda forum had found a way:
- the asus charger will actually output 11v frm the usb +ve n -ve ports. this is by detecting 2 shorted pins on the usb3.0 pins on the tf101 side.
- in short, u nd a 11v supply via usb supply pins to charge the tf101
hence the 'specific' usb extension cables

asus charger > asus cable > tf101
asus charger > usb3.0 ext (male-female) > asus cable > tf101
11v charger (11v instead of 5v via usb pins) > usb 2.0 / 3.0 m-f ext cable > asus cable > tf101

u can read up at the xda forum. do take note on the current (amperes) requirements as well!! not for the faint hearted.

Next Gen. ASUS Eee Pad Transformer May Run Windows 8, Says Report

After Microsoft give their first demonstration of the next major Windows release, dubbed Windows 8, the dream of a competitive Windows tablet PC started became more realistic.

At this time the most popular tablet platforms got their start as phone operating systems, Apple’s iOS and Google’s Android, Microsoft had been in the tablet PC game for years but the idea of tablet computing never really took off until Apple launched the iOS based iPad in 2010.

ASUS Eee Pad Transformer and Microsoft Windows 8Today NotebookItalia is reporting that ASUS is considering making the next generation ASUS Eee Pad Transformer tablet a Windows 8 based machine. ASUS is thinking about having an Android model and a dedicated Windows 8 for the next-gen. Transformer. Pricing is said to be around the same as the current Transformer but the design will most likely be different (thinner and lighter). The new tablet is named ASUS Eee Pad Transformer 2 in the report.
