today I was at a local 5-star hotel waiting to pick my US colleague up... when the hotel porter walked around my car... I thought he wanted to shoo me off for waiting in no-waiting zone - mana tau he never saw Hybrid before.
so far this is the 2nd time i got "curious admiring stares" from passers by |

QUOTE(vaio_me @ May 31 2011, 12:47 AM) could be a case where left hand (SA) do not know what right hand (marketing) is doing? Or vice versa? What is shown in the Co. website do not really 'guarantee' the item comes along with the car....and happens when Sales & Marketing 'over-advertise' the product?!? |

hye, i might getting an insight or prius soon. still under decision. i like insight because of the small CC = less roadtax price and fuel, coz currently i own a 2.0 ltr car, so i need something smaller for commute to my office every day.
I have one question, is the spring and absorber is the same as honda city? do you guys know what available aftermarket sport spring or adjustable for insight in Malaysia currently? because what the first thing i might do is to change the spring or adjustable to fit new bigger rim size. (ya i know bout fc and comfortability when using bigger rim) I just email Zeus bodykit in japan, and they quote me the price for insight Zeus full bodykit for around rm5k not including shipping and paint cost. for me i think it quite resonable because it is original from Japan and not custom made in Malaysia. for those who are interested, please email this guy yoshi@fujiyama-trading.co.jp 1. Insight Glamarous line 3 pcs set ( Front, Rear and Side ) JY110,000 2. Front sports grille JY35,000 3. LED day light.. JY5,000 ![]() |

As this is my 1st auto car, not quite sure on th gear usage. Should I use D all the way uphill or shift between D & S depending on the slope? As for downhill, should I only engage L gear all the way down? Appreciate your advise bros. |

The moment i took the car last march, it doesnt wanna move when i shifted to d and release brake. Initially thought the handbrake was on but it really was the creep aid system. After some mileage, i notice the creep aid system is not as tight as the moment i took the car. to adapt yourself to the creep aid system, find a slop, press hard on the brake and then release. then press again and release. after few rounds, u will get familiar with the extended braking force before the car moves. Hey guys, I already consulted shorty regarding this. Might head over to his shop, but does anyone here know a shop in Subang or Seremban that will know how to fix the boot lamp? (I mean properly and not for the first time?) Worried once they mess around in the boot there will be a permanent rattling sound.

QUOTE(jacek @ May 31 2011, 01:42 PM) Jockey park is the solution haha. I use d to go uphill all the way to genting, bukit tinggi. No probbtw, am planning to go Fraser Hill this weekend. Just me & my wife. As this is my 1st auto car, not quite sure on th gear usage. Should I use D all the way uphill or shift between D & S depending on the slope? As for downhill, should I only engage L gear all the way down? Appreciate your advise bros. |

Oh I did tap to the dome light wiring at the fusebox, the footwell light follows the dome light i.e. open close door, arm disarm. But this shortcut way it wont light up if we manually switch ON the dome light on the roof. Have to tap to the light socket on the roof for this.BTW I'm planning to add blue light too. White light will be when I unlocked/disarm the alarm then it will change to blue when I ignited the engine. I just added blue light to the glove box too, all the effort taking out the radio but decided not to tap the illumination wire coz is so thin. test drive Insight yesterday..
infact, test drive city too.. like the interior, headlamp, speedometer more compared to city.. city has a really dull speedometer.. really hate it.. I meant, really.. acceleration, city wins.. havent decide whether to take insight or city.. for insight, it will cost RM100 more for installment than city.. wonder if anyone has both city and insight, how much money save per month if you guys drive insight compared to city.. QUOTE(xtrabite @ Jun 2 2011, 09:32 AM) test drive Insight yesterday.. If u driving long distance to work like I do, every month I save about 30-40%. BTW daily I drove about 90km-100km.infact, test drive city too.. like the interior, headlamp, speedometer more compared to city.. city has a really dull speedometer.. really hate it.. I meant, really.. acceleration, city wins.. havent decide whether to take insight or city.. for insight, it will cost RM100 more for installment than city.. wonder if anyone has both city and insight, how much money save per month if you guys drive insight compared to city.. I drove Vios previously, 1 full tank I can go about 480km & pump about RM65. Now with Insight I can achieve 680km & just pump only RM62. From what I heard from my fren who drove the new Honda City, 1 full tank he can only get about 380-400km. Maybe he got a heavy foot. |

I keep hear ppl around me compare insight with prius which I'm feel so unfair..
lets think... 1.3 vs 1.8... different 500cc 99k vs 139k... different 40k why don't they compare Vios 1.5 vs Civic 2.0? both also different 500cc and 40k? assume prius 30km/L, insight 20km/L with 40k different... I can use it for insight petrol and it might achieve (40000/1.90) x 20km = 421052km trip... |

Well, i plan to send for polish n wax see if i can remove the hairline scratches. Any ideas whether I should touch up first or go car treatment, then onlyngo or polish? But of course the image is superb vs wireless type. I dont cut/drill anything on my car, not even the wires. I tap power from the connector (not even slice or posi-lock) and held tightly with cable tie. The LCD and camera are tapped using acrylic double sided tape. The components are very light so I suppose it wont fall out. Everything reversible should I need to uninstall them Btw, if I buy the set, can help to install ka? haha... QUOTE(psyeo @ Jun 3 2011, 01:16 PM) Just got back from that place, its located in an industrial area in Tmn Ehsan. With lots of car workshops around. The shop does alot of OEM proton/perodua accessories/bodykit, upon entering can see lots of alza visors around, with some indon guy packing them Here's a pic of the place : Unfortunately, they do not have stock to view. Order takes 3-4 days, depending on the color. They do not have Mugen Spoiler nor Grill. Only have the front, side, and back bodykit. Modulo bodykit also available at RM150 cheaper. Asked bout warranty on the bodykit, said don't have any. Say if paint chip off by itself, they will fix it for u. Price wise, the guy quite reluctant to give big discount... just managed to get very small discount from him. Ordered mine, would fix it by Tuesday/Wed nxt wk. Transaction by cash only, no card accepted. Tho please insist that you get a receipt with CHOP on it. I paid deposit to him, the guy simply give me a receipt without anything on it, just some cheap receipt without chop, just his signature. I insisted for a chop, finally he gave. Kinda dodgy imho. But we'll see. |

Why I said it was b**** to install is not about ugly, coz I have to open up all the panels/garnish to route the video wire to the hatch window. Yes you are right the small drawer/pocket will be block but its still accessible Wired one will it look a little ugly with cable all the way back, although hid properly? The location u stick the LCD is great. But then it blocks the small drawer right? Actually I got an idea, I might consider adding low power blue leds to the bottom of the LCD bezel, this will light up the center console, LEDs will be powered by the LCD 12v supply so no extra wiring exposed. Hi guys.. I suppose to receive my car yesterday. Somehow my SA told me failed to submit Tax via online?? Not able to get the Hak Milik Letter? So can’t go to JPJ for inspection??? Last Tuesday he told me that the car is already arrived in their store room and I may come to collect it yesterday, but he gave me those excuse when I arrive his showroom with no call to inform. My feeling was so down since yesterday after a long wait. From Tuesday till yesterday, the tax failed to submit? WTF!!! Anyone know what is the tax he mention or just bluff me?
He also convinced me that he will try to submit it Monday early morning and if everything goes smooth, probably will get my car by Tuesday/Wednesday... As you guy know, I'm already waited the car since 5th Dec booking. What can I do if he still finding excuse to 'entertain' me? Should I make complain to Honda Malaysia? |

Did you see your car once you were in the show room?He also convinced me that he will try to submit it Monday early morning and if everything goes smooth, probably will get my car by Tuesday/Wednesday... As you guy know, I'm already waited the car since 5th Dec booking. What can I do if he still finding excuse to 'entertain' me? Should I make complain to Honda Malaysia? |

just added windscreen coverage... for my IN2. RM 4500... works out to RM675/year. Quite exp for windscreen - but apparently it covers all windows (front/back/sides), so that's good.
the shitty part is that i decided to add this coverage in in my 2nd month, so i have to drive to MSIG branch, let them inspect the car and settle the payment there. quite inconvenient. so moral of the story: buy windscreen coverage upfront, before u get the car! |

here in UK Prius rules. Mainly because there are no large benefit (like low or 0% tax on zero emmision car) when purchasing the car. So the difference of price between Prius and Insight are not of a big margin.
If Prius and Insight price difference is just 4k instead of 40k and for 4k extra u get 1.8 instead of 1.3 cc engine which 1 u want to buy? The only relief here is road tax is cheaper for zero emission cars so most ppl will go for prius instead. the ratio of Prius vs Insight here in UK is like 20:1 |

fair enuff, but I am wondering why the commentator didnt comment on Lexus Hybrid car? If his comparison is merely based on the sales contribution on Insight, I wonder whether Lexus sales boost up from the new range of Hybrid car. I am just dissapointed that the sales contribution used as a judgement on this Insight. As matter of fact, it is really worth every penny.
Even for Prius, no doubt the sales volume is higher than Insight, but what's the percentage contribution to total Toyota sales at the end of the day? ![]() Well, anyway, I also received many bad comments on Insight from my colleagues and friends but who cares, at the end of the day, I am paying RM0.09 per km; which is 50-60% lesser than their so called perfect ride. if you have the money to spend you can buy some better cars
Here in UK and am sure in US as well, Diesel rules coz it saves more fuel than driving an hybrid if you are travelling long distance. Prius is enjoying its good sales due to its presence for quite some time in western market (about 10 yrs i think) and when you talk about hybrid the 1st thing that comes into mind is Prius. As for Lexus, I dont see much Lexus around here in UK coz if you are rich in UK you wouldve been driving European luxury cars |

QUOTE(chizzu @ Jun 6 2011, 07:22 PM) if you have the money to spend you can buy some better cars Hate it when some people keep on comment the hybrid car especially regarding the hybrid battery... some more it's coming from family members...Here in UK and am sure in US as well, Diesel rules coz it saves more fuel than driving an hybrid if you are travelling long distance. No need other people to comment... In the end, insight = no tax + save fuel + cheaper insurance + cheaper road tax = long term benefit. So, who cares insight is not worth it... just my 2 cents |

True, to me, if anyone said Prius is better, or even Ford Fiesta, Golf or Vios FC is better than Insight and they worried on the IMA battery cost, my answer is simple, DON'T buy Insight. haha
Especially when I fetched my colleagues out for lunch, they keep commenting car space small lah, very dangerous lah coz the battery is under rear passenger seat, no side airbag lah, no rear discbrake lah... since then, I stopped fetching them... If you are going long distance, Diesel car makes more sense
My friend rented a diesel 2.0 car (Ford Mondeo) for a weekend trip and I am impressed it can easily achieve 42-45mpg (17-20km/l) on highway roads. For me, the purpose of getting insight is the low emission and the awsm dashboard If you really want to calculate the FC it wont cost much for us since our petrol is subsidised. there wouldnt be a significant amount of fuel saving compared to countries that buys the gasoline where the price fluctuates based on the market. Its msian mindset that they cannot accept new technology that is growing rapidly. It takes time for them to adopt the way of the future The only real complaint you will get most of the time are the small headroom and the auto off air cond when autostop |

Added on June 6, 2011, 7:45 pm QUOTE(jacek @ Jun 6 2011, 06:11 PM) fair enuff, but I am wondering why the commentator didnt comment on Lexus Hybrid car? If his comparison is merely based on the sales contribution on Insight, I wonder whether Lexus sales boost up from the new range of Hybrid car. I am just dissapointed that the sales contribution used as a judgement on this Insight. As matter of fact, it is really worth every penny. Actually i dun giv a sh1t about that. As long as i happy den ok. If someone complain about, den i wil ask them go to buy. Else story ends. Added on June 6, 2011, 6:13 pm Illegal parked in front of the police station haha, actually backdated oredi, it was in May (2weeks after gotten my ride)...drove all the way to spend 1 night in Penang. I think who hav drive insight before, power enug rite? So do u think need to go for 1.8cc or more? In malaysia road, how far u can speed? We jus nid a low cost and fuel saver car. As someone calc before, how much mileage u can use for another rm40k? I do hav a lot gang drive t.prius. It because they previously drive camry, madza6, merc or bmw. So diff level ppl hav to choose same lvl cars. Correct me if i wrong. Dun forget, honda insight still can driving even ur battery kong, other... Cannot. i love this car....but i'm concerned about the resale value
this is the oldest hybrid technology which means the chances it will be replaced will be high? if let's say i'm planning to use this car for 5-7 years.....not that i don't like it but there's always room for improvement right, what do you think the second hand cars market response will be? |

Why do u still concern about resale value, it won't go too bad because the fuel price will not going to drop. Technology keep changing, get it when you need it ... |

As frankly speaking, msian does not appreciate new technology therefore in terms of resale value, b4 u get the car, u should already take this into account. if cannot get good resale value, u can only suck thumb and continue to live with the car. |

I have no problem with the car. I'm lovin it !!! Good acceleration. Good mileage. Good styling. Good tech. Good brand. Good PRICE !!! Simple words, find me any imported Japanese car with Insight's specs at price tag of 98K. We compare then. As for Insight vs Prius. Its getting overboard, why compare 98k to RM139k? Then why dont they buy a Vios and complain doesn't ride or perform as nice as the Camry or a City to a Accord! Shouod compare something within the price range i.e. CKD Vios/City RM90K vs CBU Insight 98K? |

Rule of thumb, supply vs demand.
Now demand for Insight is so excessive, somebody try to soften the demand by increasing the price. |

QUOTE(Lucky_Wishes @ Jun 7 2011, 11:08 AM) Just received call from my SA, the reason of the tax cert not approve is due to the IMA battery with this new batch which installed with Civic hybrid battery. There are 8 insights in their store facing this issue due to shortage of insight battery. He said I will receive a letter Honda Malaysia these few days on the delaying. Either wait for insight battery or new batch with the right battery. Really bad luck for me... CODE IMA battery The Insight’s IMA is powered by a flat, nickel metal hydride battery pack located below the cargo floor between the rear wheels. The 84 module battery is manufactured by Sanyo Electric[34] and provides a nominal system voltage of 100.8 volts with a nominal capacity of 5.75 ampere-hours.[35] The power density of the modules is 30 percent greater than in the current-generation Civic Hybrid. The battery is recharged automatically by scavenging engine power, when needed, and by regenerative braking when the car is decelerating. The power management electronics, battery modules, and cooling system are all self-contained within the IMA battery pack. SOS make sure u get the insight battery. |

QUOTE(seejovin @ Jun 6 2011, 11:08 PM) i love this car....but i'm concerned about the resale value I didnt see the IMA approach as 'oldest'. I think it is more practical, logical, economical. The only thing that they'll replace in near future is battery capacity/material and motor capacity. this is the oldest hybrid technology which means the chances it will be replaced will be high? if let's say i'm planning to use this car for 5-7 years.....not that i don't like it but there's always room for improvement right, what do you think the second hand cars market response will be? Internal combustion engine has been here for 100 years with not much evolution. It still cylinders with pistons. Slotting an electric motor in between engine and gearbox is the easiest and more practical way to boost efficiency. 90% match Toyota's hybrid synergy drive which is more complex. At the end of the day, if both cars breakdown, honda IMA should be the easier/cheaper system to repair compared to Toyota HSD. Toyota have the honour to come up with complex system as they are leading the market. To put it simple, we will appreciate Insight even more if the fuel price go up to, say, RM3.00 per liter. That time, people will ask whether u want to sell ur car to them |

Actually, I don't buy this as well....1) The size of the batteries, do they physically fit each other? 2) If assuming that it does fit, does it function better/poorer? Civic Hybrid 1st gen's battery or are we talking 2nd gen Civic Hybrid?? 3) Assuming it's all true, it fits, and functions better, and QA Honda releases it. 4) Why would the Msian customs block it?? |

Or Honda scalvaging (recycling) old Civic battery pack and modify it for Insight use? To some this is big hoo haa or a no no. Well if this is real, I dont see any problems actually because both uses same NiMH cells ..just taking out the new cells from the Civic battery pack (since Civic Hybrid already EOL) and repack into Insights IMA battery pack. After all ...that's what GREEN is all about. As long as 5 years warranty is valid...I think shouldn't be any problem. Save the Earth! |

QUOTE(joshuawong @ Jun 7 2011, 01:49 PM) Hmmmm, if let say our battery suppose to last up to 10 years then after all the repacking and only 5 years warranty given. That's mean we have been cheated and taken advantages to accept refurbished battery just like 3rd world country. I think you got it wrong by using the word refurbished. Repacking the "new cells" has no impact on service life. Perhaps saying it this way is easier to understand, just changing the container. Anyway all these are just our speculation. No official words hence guys reading this please don't take it too seriously. |

QUOTE(iphone @ Jun 7 2011, 02:18 PM) I think you got it wrong by using the word refurbished. Repacking the "new cells" has no impact on service life. Perhaps saying it this way is easier to understand, just changing the container. Anyway all these are just our speculation. No official words hence guys reading this please don't take it too seriously. Refurbish mean Recondition so I believe is the correct term if let say they repack the new cells on an old battery/PCB. As wat u mention, it's just our assumption. No need to take it too serious. |

This is a good car fyi. If u refunds means ur sa earn anothet rm1800 due to new price for insight. Since u already wait for 6month, y dun u jus wait ya?Some suggestion from SA for me... 1. Full refund. 2. Change model. 3. Wait for new battery pack shipment and change it here (not CBU already?) 4. Wait for new batch car with right battery. Yes. I will call H.M when receive their letter... |

Few type of jerk/hesitation happen when:
1. The car starts accelerate using fuel only, then the motor kicks in to assist. Very mild one. 2. The car starting to coast on battery only at speed around 30-50kmh, very light on pedal. Fuel cut and i-vtec close all valve. More noticeable than no 1. 3. The fuel/engine kicks in when battery half empty or we step on the gas to go faster. Slight hesitation can be felt, comparable to no 2. 4. Air conditioning compressor kick on and off. Jerk or lurch. Very mild one. 5. Blip the throttle, the moment we are going for overtaking maneuver but suddenly back off due to whatever reason (oncoming car etc). The electric motor only started to assist when suddenly we back off. 6. Shift to 'S'. Sudden lurch forward especially if we're very early on gas. 7. Anytime at speed 60kmh and below, the engine going from 'fuel only' mode to 'recharging' mode. Very mild. 8. Sudden lurch while braking, happen when the car almost stop (speed below 15kmh or so). The car suddenly 'free'. Felt like pressing clutch on a manual car. More obvious if the engine immediately went into idle-stop. 9. The most noticeable jerk on this car was when the engine going from battery only mode to fuel mode, fuel kicks in simultaneously with aircond compressor. Happened to me once or twice. Call it '9 type of shift' or even better '9 speed CVT'. For me they were not that bad, fully acceptable. I agree on suggestion swap car to verify the severity just in case some of us got lemon. A DSG gearbox jerks even worst. Go try Ford Fiesta. U'll know what i mean. |

Hey need a little help here. My Honda Insight 2010/2011 is currently only hitting about 450km on a 30 litre tank. From other threads and forums, I have seen people claiming to hit almost 600-700km on the same tank. Any thoughts? Is there an issue with my car that I need to go back to Honda to fix? Thanks for the help!

Just done my 2nd service! The service advisor ask me to install the autolock @ 320rm.. i say no no..
For the past 5000km, I'm able to achieve 600- 650 km / per 33 liters / 19.0km/l tank of fuel consistently with ECO mode ON most of the time and drive smoothly, no hard acceleration. I'm pretty satisfy with the fuel consumption, can imagine that my previous drive honda city can only achieve max <550km/ per 40 liters tank. So if anyone ask you about the fuel consumption of honda insight.. you could probably claim 700++ km per 40 liter fuel! This post has been edited by iTrump: Jun 8 2011, 11:14 AM |

Eco mode most of the time on. 100 percent city driving though. Aircon set on auto so its usually about half blast. Most of the time 2/3 people in the car at the time. Any other info needed? I hear some people claiming to hit like 600km on a 30 litre tank so that's like quite high. Wondering whether there's a problem with my car. I don't drive aggresively, ie no sudden braking or quick acceleration so I don't know the actual problem. Thanks much!

You try to use the auto cruise more often to see if that helps. Also lower your aircon as i always set to manual as auto is too powerful for me. |

My FC had improved on my second tank and getting even better after my 5k service Those whom can hit above 600km are mostly driving on highways maitaining at the speed of 80-100kmph with green speedometer at most of the time... |

If I continue same driving style, I can reach approx 720km. FYI, my FC improved significantly after my 5k service, and start playing with the auto cruise on the hiway. Hi all, was wondering. The sunshade for our windscreen, i know that most of the sunshade are a freegift of banks, insurance or some other brands, but the size of it doesn't really fit our insight's windscreen. Wanted to ask if there is any other sizes for the windscreen, and...actually where to get it ar? i scouted the shopping centre and hypermart but cant seem to find anything.

Currently using primax 95 extra as well. My car's gone about 1.8k km total but auto cruise wont work in town. Only for highways and I seldom go on highways. Btw, the range isnt always constant and it varies depending on the driving style. If I can clock about 500 plus on a 30 litre tank that would be sweet but so far the car's FC been underperforming. Love the car though. Sweet ride for a hybrid.

What's your mileage for previous car on similar route? town driving at around 15km/l average sounds ok. What's your mileage like on highway? This post has been edited by psyeo: Jun 8 2011, 04:45 PM |

My other cars are Avanza and Savvy. Both clock about 320km on about the same amount of litres. Highway mileage yet to test though. Reason asking about this FC thing is cuz I hear from other insight owners of their great FC but mine isnt really giving that great FC. In fact, a City or Vios would be around the same range of FC.

QUOTE(yipguseng @ Jun 8 2011, 03:17 PM) Hi all, was wondering. I am using the aluminium fold type. Try Jusco, I got mine there. |

Hi Insight owners,
I've been following this forum since V1 - first msg & also done booking since 28Feb. I would say I am very disappointed with the way Honda Malaysia had handle the earthquake crisis. We all know the supply chain and all been affect. In fact, its true for all cars from Japan. My fren did a booking of Prius after the quake and already gotten the car 2 weeks back. And, because the expected delay of his car, Toyota offered additional service voucher - ~RM600. Actually there is no delay at all. Not to mention Nissan, Tan Chong has been very generous of its discount + discount + etc... no comment at all. Honda didn't offer such thing to their customer but instead trying to rip additional RM1800 from customer who booked after Apr - I had verified this with HM today. Well, I have to say, as a customer I'm not happy & feel like being played a fool of... And, there were even news that battery pack changed? Not sure how true but HM denied during this afternoon call. I'm not trying to stir things here but just voice out my right as customer. But eventually, I get my turn for Insight. I WANT MY INSIGHT!!! Maybe this is a story of my insight to remember then. BTW guys/gals, I'm enjoying your comments in the forum. Keep it up... p/s: Just hope HM personnel read this "feedback" form.. |

Seems like got cars jor, my SA called me up too, same date, june 15.
Not sure if it's the same batch as urs 'civic battery batch' but, mostly will be I guess... Anyway, that's quite impressive to hear if toyota is offering more discounts for the customers whose cars are delayed by the quake. Cant blame them, but if they do give more discounts, all the more power to toyota... aih, too bad prius out of my budget |

QUOTE(dazzleec @ Jun 9 2011, 09:36 AM) i just checked with Honda Malaysia.the battery for the new batch of hybrid is different from the Civic.aparently voltage battery for insight n civic is different. The new battery is from a new supplier Matsushita/panasonic.Honda claims its much better in reliability n performance. If that is the reason. Why don't Honda Malaysia just announced it when they declare the price increment? I think most customer can accept that reasons rather than having everyone guessing? Added on June 9, 2011, 9:37 am i mean the 'battery's voltage' |

The official reason is not that.
It's part shortages in japan. He's just replying to a rumour/news from SA on insight being fitted with civic hybrid batteries bulat bulat causing gomen to hold the cars in port klang due to specification issues??, which I dont think makes much sense.. This morning made a complain to HM, the officer also said this is unusual for waiting 6 months and he will check with the dealer/SA.. 2 hours later, my SA called and told me car will be ready to collect next week.

Just got my I2 mugenized
Pretty much satisfied with the bodykit, except for a bit of color differences, its whiter than the Pearl White of our insights. I'd say bout 10-15% difference in tones. Price wise, below 2k. Negotiable. Just say you're from lowyat forums Here are some pics of the installation and the end results of it. |

the different color tones and uneven seam joints kinda obvious. But overall quite nice, I think will have better oomph with rear wing installed. Do you keep the old pieces (if any they removed) ?

Yeah, Ryan doesn't have rear wing for sale there. So have to scout around again for it.
Nothing is removed, except for the two reflectors at the back to fix it to the Mugen rear. I'd say the height is bearable, I've drove past a few humps going back, no scratch sound, drove passed it normally, seems to be quite alright the height. With 1 person on board la of coz. If full load, then might be a different case. I've lifted up the bodykits myself, its actually quite light (one hand can light up any of them easily) doesn't really add weight to affect much FC at all. Installation takes approximately 1.5 Hrs. Yea. need to drill hole to the inner part of the wheel area to affix the screws. Not noticeable at all. This post has been edited by gadgets2us: Jun 9 2011, 03:54 PM |

Can't remember the plat # but definately WVE **** travelling kl- seremban (southbound) near sg besi tol around 7pm.
Nice ride. Didn't managed to snap pic as I am rushing back home. |

Honda CRZ with 1.5L IMA Hybrid engine can be tuned to 200 horsy, I guess our Insight 1.3L IMA Hybrid engine probably can tune to 160-180 horsy. Who agree with me?

Who agree with me? Hmmm. But usually increase in output will results in poorer reliability. I'll be satisfied enough if it can go up to 150hp and prefer the tune up more on electric rather than combustion. Enough of these port& polish, high cams, adjustble pulley, extractors so on... http://paultan.org/2011/06/09/honda-and-ni...ars-to-le-mans/ However one interesting mod will be Insight facelift to CRZ. I see the CRZ front bumper & fender cut out is not that far from insight. And i bet they were using the same Fit front chasis.... |

QUOTE(n00b123 @ Jun 10 2011, 10:26 AM) Noticed there was a significant improvement on my car's FC after the 5k service. Or it might be bcoz less traffic due to school holiday? It used to clock below 20km/l as most of the time i travel in the city and LDP highway with traffic jam as always. Hope there will be further improvement after the 10k service This post has been edited by orbclyne: Jun 10 2011, 10:50 AM |

Silver also doesn't make much different, it's just get less obvious on the dirts. good morning all.
i just came back from sumber auto and wanted to order the boot tray. I was charged RM400 and was informed that the price of the accessories also increased ... after the Insight price hike to RM99,800. I understand that the original price of boot tray is RM300, now RM400!? If it is true, it is 25% price increase. Anyone has purchased the boot tray and mind to share the price? |

Wonder what next after the 3rd trophy? I google-ed and I found nothing gonna change or happen. We can reset the lifetime points only.
This is how you can clear all leaves and lifetime point; The following procedure clears all leaves and your lifetime points. This procedure must be followed exactly. Turn the ignition switch to the ON (II) position. Confirm that the ECON mode is OFF. If it is OFF, proceed to step 1. Do NOT run the engine. If the ECON mode is on, press and release the ECON button to turn it off. You also need to turn the ignition switch off. Turn the ignition switch to the ON (II) position again. Do NOT run the engine. Complete the following steps within 30 seconds: 1. Press and release the brake pedal at least two times. The ambient meter color changes from blue to green*. *The ambient meter color changes only if the multiinformation display’s meter color change setting is on. 2. Press and release the ECON button two times (ECON mode comes on, then goes off). The ambient meter color goes off, and the accumulated data is cleared. 3. Turn the ignition switch to the LOCK (0) position. |

Actually, quite dissapointed how they handled my queries on the accessories as the Sales Supervisor seems to be unsure on many things on Insight. By the way, just to inform you all that the door step garnish is out of stocks and they are not sure on the availability. Dunno why it is so difficult to get the accessories ... or maybe t hey dont get commission on accessories, that is why such lousy feedback from them. Honda Malaysia, take note if any of you reaidng this. |

Its pearl.Since the white is metallic .. should be ok I guess Actually too much poison from reading this forum ...haha.... Metallic, paint with metal particles. U can see the particles close-up. It returns lights in direct manners so it looks shining vibrant due to those embedded metal particles. Pearl, paint with spectrum particles. It returns light in colour spectrum & sometimes depend on angle. Close-up, u can see the multi-coloured layer in the pearl paint, very fine. Insight comes with 3 pearls (WHite, Black and Blue) while silver is metallic. To me all looks great and have their own strength in emphasizing Insight unique design. Pick any colour u like the most. Coz at the end of the day, u will always see other colour looks like more beautiful than your own. We're human. This post has been edited by watonk: Jun 10 2011, 03:42 PM |

QUOTE(watonk @ Jun 10 2011, 03:41 PM) Its not metallic. Its pearl. well said... |

Econ mode ON all the time. Total milleage clocked 7228km. Now trying Caltex ... dunno whether there r any difference. |

QUOTE(kapultek @ Jun 10 2011, 04:19 PM) Bro what is your mileage now?I notice when econ on -it soften throttle response, but still go full power when we floor. -extend idle-stop. -reduce the blower speed. -extend the use of IMA battery eg extent coasting with battery only at slow speed. I think its good to switch econ on or off every other day so that the whole system is used. Also its good to sometimes start driving with L, then S and shift to D when speed increases to make sure all sensors and pressure gauge inside CVT box optimally used. |

QUOTE(alxdc @ Jun 10 2011, 04:07 PM) It will be different based on which dealer you went to. If Honda Japan recover faster, than probably will get more car coming next month. It also based on how many booking the dealer got before yours. |

QUOTE(jacek @ Jun 10 2011, 12:01 PM) ok, thx for d info. No, ur SA definitely get extra commission for ur extra accessoriesso the SA just BS me syaing that the price has increased. The boot tray memang RM400 la. |

QUOTE(kapultek @ Jun 10 2011, 04:19 PM) Hi bro, sorry but to disagree with your statement.I have tried both Eco mode ON and OFF. On average, with Econ Mode ON, i can clocked easily 600km and above for 31L tank. As with Econ Mode OFF, only maximum 500km +-. That equals to approximately RM9.99 difference on the FC for full tank usage. That is why since then, I've been using Econ Mode ON at all time. Sorry if the above is not applicable on your Insight, but I am just sharing on the differences. |
