today I was at a local 5-star hotel waiting to pick my US colleague up... when the hotel porter walked around my car... I thought he wanted to shoo me off for waiting in no-waiting zone - mana tau he never saw Hybrid before.

so far this is the 2nd time i got "curious admiring stares" from passers by biggrin.gif

Nice work there bro. I got all my Blue LEDs ready too. Still waiting for the reverse camera to arrive before start work.
You manage to locate the dome light wires at the fuse box or tap from the dome light itself?

Done footwell lamp. I chose tapping to the fuse box for conveniency but somehow I still prefer tapping to the dome/cabin light so that it can be switch off/on just like the cabin light hmm.gif Oh well...

Nice one bro! Since u r connecting it to fuse box area there y not tap it same wit the dome light?

BTW I'm planning to add blue light too. White light will be when I unlocked/disarm the alarm then it will change to blue when I ignited the engine. smile.gif
*
Oh I did tap to the dome light wiring at the fusebox, the footwell light follows the dome light i.e. open close door, arm disarm. But this shortcut way it wont light up if we manually switch ON the dome light on the roof. Have to tap to the light socket on the roof for this.

I just added blue light to the glove box too, all the effort taking out the radio but decided not to tap the illumination wire coz is so thin. wub.gif

Btw, if I buy the set, can help to install ka? haha...

Buy you drink, makan and jalan-jalan in my Insight lol
btw, how does the LCD screen stays on the dashboard?
Do you use clips or you drill hole?
*
Haha..seriously I suggest you pay a little bit more to get the wireless type, this wired one is a b**** to install. But of course the image is superb vs wireless type. I dont cut/drill anything on my car, not even the wires. I tap power from the connector (not even slice or posi-lock) and held tightly with cable tie. The LCD and camera are tapped using acrylic double sided tape. The components are very light so I suppose it wont fall out. Everything reversible should I need to uninstall them blush.gif

Nice one!

Wired one will it look a little ugly with cable all the way back, although hid properly?

The location u stick the LCD is great. But then it blocks the small drawer right?
*
No the wire is not visible at all. Its hidden all the way from the dash to the camera. Why I said it was b**** to install is not about ugly, coz I have to open up all the panels/garnish to route the video wire to the hatch window. Yes you are right the small drawer/pocket will be block but its still accessible brows.gif . Since the LCD is taped to the door, it will be pointed downwards when the small pocket door is opened. I use the pocket to hide the connectors i.e Red, White, Yellow and Power. Since I have it ON following the ignition, I can still manually unplug the 12v connector which is hidden in that small pocket during the night if it gets too distracting brows.gif

Actually I got an idea, I might consider adding low power blue leds to the bottom of the LCD bezel, this will light up the center console, LEDs will be powered by the LCD 12v supply so no extra wiring exposed. wub.gif haha this idea came from Philips LCD TV with ambient lights on its back.

just added windscreen coverage... for my IN2. RM 4500... works out to RM675/year. Quite exp for windscreen - but apparently it covers all windows (front/back/sides), so that's good.

the shitty part is that i decided to add this coverage in in my 2nd month, so i have to drive to MSIG branch, let them inspect the car and settle the payment there. quite inconvenient.

so moral of the story: buy windscreen coverage upfront, before u get the car!
*
eh..luckily I dont need to hehe. Insured RM4600, RM 690 premium for my side.

looks like a lot who got the car already then worry abt the resale value now. think a lot of impulsive buyer for this car due to the fact of no tax and made in japan car.

personally i bought the car without worrying the resale value as i love the car (had taken into account that the worst case scenario the car has no resale value at all, of course it won't be worst til that extent).

if want to talk logically, think most owners like myself definitely are not going (or should say not able) to sell the car within the next few years soon. As frankly speaking, msian does not appreciate new technology therefore in terms of resale value, b4 u get the car, u should already take this into account. if cannot get good resale value, u can only suck thumb and continue to live with the car.  sweat.gif

Agree.

I have no problem with the car. I'm lovin it !!! wink.gif
Good acceleration. Good mileage. Good styling. Good tech. Good brand. Good PRICE !!!
Simple words, find me any imported Japanese car with Insight's specs at price tag of 98K. We compare then.

As for Insight vs Prius. Its getting overboard, why compare 98k to RM139k? Then why dont they buy a Vios and complain doesn't ride or perform as nice as the Camry or a City to a Accord! Shouod compare something within the price range i.e. CKD Vios/City RM90K vs CBU Insight 98K? whistling.gif
