Definitely too much.
They ignored my complaints (via the unifi portal) for 1 week+, so I gave a detailed report to CFM about the complaint via email. The day after I receive acknowledgement from CFM, those lazy TM bastards finally contacted me to resolve the issue.

Hi,

Can I ask which email address you sent it to?

My unifi is acting up again. Down speed only manage to get 1.1 - 1.2mbps only while upload have no problem going up to 19mbps. Pay premium but getting less than 10% of the speed.

I'm better but still the speed is slow today. my DL constantly stays about 2mbps for whole day while UL was fine. I am at equine park on VIP5.

On a side note, I was tidying up all the cabling this noon and this two question came across my head:
1) To what extend can we bend the fiber optic cable? I remember the installer was telling me over bending can break the cable. To make my workspace tidy, i bent the cable 90 degree over a radius of about 3cm. Is that fine?
2) The ONT seems pretty hot. Mine is an Alcatel-Lucent unit. Is it fine to stack something else over the ONT? Anyone experienced failed overheated ONT?

1)90 degress is ok. Do not go above 90degress.

2)Very bad idea to stack. Its best to leave it standalone and install a small cooling fan for it. Alot of unit failed due to overheating/bad ventilation.

usually those devices is design/made in oversea.. they are not designed for use in places with hot weather like malaysia... sad.gif thats why heat is a problem for these devices...

i doubt its glass, as glass based fibers are very expensive, more like its the modern plastic alternative...

yeah once break habis cannot pakai at all already.. becomes worthless

From what i saw during the UNIFI installation, the whole fiber box or somewhere it indicate that the cable is "made in Malaysia".

and fiber cable is once a very very expensive stuff, but the price degraded over due to high demand. It's the same goes to so many IT product, remember the price on CDRW during it first lauch? USB thumbdrive? then DVD? and now bluray. Their price range can be more than 80% different from the time it launch to now

I always experience unstable speed i.e. surge to 600kBps then come down to 0kBps then up to 200kBps then to 20KBps like yoyo. Have ask TM to check few times and still cannot solve. Any idea if these problems caused by modem or router or signal of the optical fiber ?

Also, how is the TP Link WR841N compare to the DLink 615 ? Anyone has experience over the TP Link ?

My problem with the DLink is I have to reboot the router after rain to gain back the WIFI. Anyone has such experience ?
