QUOTE(JJBerry @ May 19 2011, 12:55 PM) Hong Leong Bank and EON Bank merger will result our credit cards from both bank affected? What they will do to the credit limit for cardholders from both bank is up to them. We can only speculate and the final decision rests with the bank itself.Any idea they will combine total credit limit from both bank or discontinue either one? Thank you for sharing. IMHO, From a financial management perspective (bank's view) - cardholder should only hold one credit limit because if they have 2 individual limits, from the bank's view it is actually CL A + CL B = CL C thus the actual CL granted to the cardholder is CL C. (Post merger) The impact is ... 1. You may run foul of BNM new ruling 2. The is likely to violate their own risk management policies because you are granting a risky level of unsecured debt to a particular customer. A good example of a historical situation would be the merger of Bumiputra Commerce (Product line is SB cards and the DirectAccess) and Bumiputra Commerce (Bumiputra Commerce cards) bank many years ago. After the merger, customers have 2 CLs and eventually the 2 CLs are "merged" (After factoring your individual risk/eligibility, etc). Today you don't see anyone with 2 CLs anymore from these guys. IMHO ... the CLs will be merged and/or one of the other CLs will be discontinued. But .... it is all up to the bank, so don't flame me if it turns out differently. * Edited ... thank you bro zenquix) This post has been edited by hye: May 19 2011, 03:18 PM |

the making of CIMB:
1. Bank Bumiputra + Bank of Commerce = Bumiputra Commerce Bank (BCB) 2. BCB + Southern Bank = CIMB previously at Kajang got 2 Southern Bank branches, after merged to CIMB, both branches closed. only CIMB branches left. |

Hi, need a ask a question here. Previously i do not have any credit card at all and now trying to apply for MBB 2 cards. In terms of annual wage of minimum rm30k, i am qualified. I even have a mbb account with them to track my pay slip BUT how come my application has been rejected?
I have no debt, no loan and my account is quite healthy. Any idea why they rejected my application? |

QUOTE(exile85 @ May 19 2011, 05:06 PM) ok, read about it already. But then, i do not have any loans whatsover with any banks at all. First time is always the hardest. Perhaps the rejection is due to unable to contact your home tel no. Or the higher risk of you being a first-timer. Just move on with life, apply other banks first. After 6-12 months, if you really want MBB-2-CC and benefits, re-apply again.Only 1 supp card but even that i do not have any outstanding amount. Really confuse... I've been in your shoes before, but with Citibank. Rejected. So I apply MBB and got it. Few years later, I got Citibank CC. Nowadays, they send me free, but I don't take it up (benefits not suite me). |

CCRIS will display your financial information that is being shared by all the banks. Sometimes you will see in that report things which you don't even know exist or thought to exist about yourself. Only 1 supp card but even that i do not have any outstanding amount. Really confuse... And if you never had any financial history before, build one. If you can't get the card you want, get something else first to build your history. Sure it is the long winded way but that's what we (the seniors) here have build over the years. No shortcuts will help you unless you got plenty of money and get yourself a pledged cc. |

QUOTE(gerrardling @ May 19 2011, 11:24 AM) AGODA got 6% off exc tax and service for mbb non amex card I can't find this promotion in their website. Can you please give me the direct url ?QUOTE(Gen-X @ May 19 2011, 12:36 PM) This is good news. Miles - how is this compared to HSBC? My MasterCard gets 7% discount at the checkout page. For Platinum, it's 6% and 5% for Gold and Classic cards. Not sure which category the Signature falls on but i guess it's 6% like Platinum.QUOTE(gerrardling @ May 19 2011, 01:40 PM) HSBC got 10% off The 10% off promotion is applicable only to very few selected hotels in certain countries and promotion period usually is very short. The 5%-7% off is available to all hotels booked through Agoda (must access Agoda site through HSBC Home&Away website). The discount will be automatically reflected on the checkout page after you've entered your HSBC credit card numbers. By the way, HSBC Home&Away website states that this 5%-7% is like a limited time promotion but from my experience is that it's more like a year-round offer. The HSBC Group has been offering this Agoda promotion for a veeeeeeeeeeeeery long time This post has been edited by MilesAndMore: May 19 2011, 11:54 PM |

QUOTE(Gen-X @ May 18 2011, 11:39 AM) shiroikun, yes as mentioned by mushu_pork, if you have HSBC or SCB credit limit higher than RM30K, about RM40K then you may be eligible for CIMB WMC and VI. But it is not 100% automatic and still subjected to CCRIS report and they may even need some additional documents. Then i don think i'm qualified for this card, i only having a CITIBANK Platinum Master card with 24k limit...hmm and Public Bank Platinum 24k limit too.Click the link below to read my article post in Nov 2010 where I have mentioned about above matter and also posted CIMB Card Centre Contact Number at Sunway. Call them up and tell them your existing card credit limit and they can on the spot confirm if you are eligible to apply for the WMC/VI. http://creditcardsmalaysia.blogspot.com/20...ebit-cards.html Even if you cannot qualify for the WMC or VI with your existing CL, you may qualify for the CIMB VS and get to enjoy same benefits offered to Visa Infinite (but not promotions for MasterCard). |

Dear LYN forumers,
Got a question to ask, if Shop ABC is Bank CBA merchant and the owner of the shop ABC hold the credit card of Bank CBA. Now: Q1: Can the owner of Shop ABC swipe his Bank CBA credit card at his own Shop ABC? Being the owner of the shop is it ok? Violating any rules? Q2: Same condition as Q1 but this time Owner of Shop ABC swipe his Bank CBA credit card every month with the same amount ( big amount assume >RM 20k ) and paid the full amount before the due date, is it ok to do so? Is this consider money laundering? Anyone know? This post has been edited by ak1977: May 20 2011, 11:01 AM |

Best to call CS to confirm the GST charged month. Basing on the expiry date maybe wrong, as you may get upgraded cards and the date may change, just like my DA. |
