why ? to entitle for platinum card, we need to spend a lot ?
No. Not necessarily so. Besides, i thought you only have the PBB credit card with a credit limit of RM4k.

my current maybank cc have 10k cl.
May be you can try to apply for the Maybankard 2 cards. For the Platinum one of course.

By the way guys, any idea which credit card companies that provide mail/parcel forwarding service for items ordered in US/UK if we pay using their credit card ? I only know a few banks providing such service. I am going to order something from the UK and i want to compare the shipping fees first.
- Citibank > Citi Globeshopper
- HSBC > vPost
- UOB > vPost
- Maybank > vPost
- Alliance Bank > vPost

By the way, shipments through vPost doesn't seem to incur any duty tax. Has anyone ever encountered problems such as your parcel being detained at the custom ? Please share your experience.

Bro, thanks for the update. I guess Wawasan Sentosa is a money changer? Next time you check wawasan rate, if can also check MBB rate on their website and post it too.
Yes. Wawasan Sentosa is a money changer at Mid-Valley Megamall located at the Lower Ground Floor, Centre Court. They provide one of the most competitive exchange rates in town. The rates are almost as good as the one at Bukit Bintang (near BB Plaza) and those money changers in Chow Kit.

As for Maybank's own exchange rate, it is always so high. Not even the actual foreign exchange rate used for their credit card is as high (not even after factoring in the 0.5% admin fee for VISA/MasterCard).

my wife recently got her first credit card from maybank, but she doesnt have maybank account. so does anyone here know how will she register maybank2u? thanks.

last time i register using atm machine... but if put the credit card in the atm machine what is the pin number...
Go to any Maybank branch and tell them you want to set up a PIN number.

QUOTE(Gen-X @ Feb 28 2011, 08:17 PM)
She will have to go to any Maybank branch to get in done.
I went to a MBB branch today wanting to registrer my MBB cards for M2U but the branch I went to the system down sad.gif So went to Maxis and DiGi to transfer all my auto-debit from AMEX Gold CC to MBB Dua Amex.
M2U can be so troublesome to those who do not have any savings or current account with Maybank. I now have to maintain two different M2U accounts just for my Maybankard 2 cards doh.gif Will open one savings account with them next month for the sake of convenience.

Please post together MBB rate because I want to compare with buying bank draft for my son tuition fee especially if you transact in USD. Sometimes RHB will give me slightly lower than counter rate.

Yah I noted MV and BB money changer on weekend the rate almost the same as MSN USD/MYR rate.

Can all give me some comments, i received 3 type of Platinum card from Maybank. Which is Maybankard 2, Petronas and Amex Black. Why their issue too many card same time, just fill up upgrade card only.. ? And will i get any Tax charge, since i'm not going to activate it.
I believe the AMEX Black you are talking about is the Maybankard 2 AMEX. It comes with a VISA card and you only have to pay one GST for these two cards.

QUOTE(yuunasue @ Mar 1 2011, 09:53 AM)
BTW, i'm mostly use in oversea, which card better, don't think the maybankard2 will benefit me.

Wrong. Maybankard 2 cards are the cards that will benefit you the most.

QUOTE(yuunasue @ Mar 1 2011, 09:53 AM)
And that Maybank2 card consider Platinum or gold, look classless wherever with platinum words =_=ll
Your Maybankard 2 cards are Platinum cards if :
- the VISA is blue-ish in color and has the word Platinum printed on top right.
- the AMEX is black in color

QUOTE(yuunasue @ Mar 1 2011, 09:53 AM)
And 5X point how to work it at oversea? Is it like USD100 X3 X5 point?

The 5x TP is applicable only to Maybankard 2 AMEX and each RM1 charged will get you 5x TP be it a local or overseas transaction.

QUOTE(yuunasue @ Mar 1 2011, 09:53 AM)
Currently i'm holding petronas since their didn't charge any annual fees to my account, if change the other, scary have to pay for it.

Cancel the Petronas VISA and use only the Maybankard 2 cards. Maybankard 2 cards do not have annual fee too and you only have to pay 1 GST for 2 cards (Maybankard 2 AMEX & Maybankard 2 VISA).

QUOTE(ronnie @ Mar 1 2011, 09:58 AM)
Assuming overseas CC charges is paid by the company, which cards offer the best to the employee

1. Maybankard2 AMEX with 5% on weekends and 5x TP
2. SCB Business Visa with 0.5% and 3x ChoicePoints
3. Maybankard2 Visa
Maybankard 2 AMEX and Standard Chartered Business VISA, no doubt !

Maybankard 2 VISA. No doubt !

Thanks replied. I will change it to Maybankard 2 instead of petronas. Noted that im prefer platinum-level service and worldwide recognition. I thinks this card not entitle right? Base on their website provided detail. Compare with Maybank Visa Platinum & Visa Petronas & Maybankard 2.
You do get all the usual Platinum benefits.

In terms of priority of use, should be Maybankard 2 AMEX, followed by Standard Chartered Business VISA ??
Not sure on this as we're still not sure how's the exchange rate for Maybankard 2 AMEX is like.

QUOTE(chemistry @ Mar 1 2011, 05:14 PM)
Now I know what is so troublesome for a MBB cardmember who doesn't maintain savings/current account with MBB.

I went to an MBB branch just now. They seem like don't know how to handle my case, because they usually deal with MBB account holders (but I'm not).

She asked me to change PIN number from default 123456 to XXXXXX. I did it. Then I put back the cc, and register a new PIN for M2U account. When I entered FIRST TIME LOGIN page, typed my cc number & the 6digit PIN, the system returned an error message. Tried various PINs but still unsuccessful.

The staff asked me to try again at home :swt:
Were you trying to sign up for M2U using your Maybankard 2 AMEX ? You need to add a 0 at the front when keying in your AMEX card numbers.

QUOTE(Gen-X @ Mar 1 2011, 05:25 PM)
I am still waiting for my MBB statement to compare MBB Visa vs MBB MC.
Keep us updated smile.gif

QUOTE(alexwsk @ Mar 1 2011, 05:33 PM)
if all the maybank credit cards come with default pin of 123456, then it's way too dangerous sweat.gif
imagine someone never change the pin and the card is lost shocking.gif
All Maybank ATM/debit/credit cards do come with a default PIN of 123456. However, the temporary PIN of 123456 is only activated when you request for your PIN number.

QUOTE(alexwsk @ Mar 1 2011, 05:33 PM)
anyway, did you apply the M2U pin for the M2 AMEX only? Wild guess here, all mbb atm/master/visa (debit/credit) has 16 digits, maybe that's the reason?
Correct. That is indeed the reason which is why you need to add in a 0 at the front when keying in your AMEX card numbers when registering for M2U online.

BTW, why their sent Petronas together. Same time, same date. M2 card collect from Private banking, Petronas post via FEDEX to my doorstep. I guess M2 card more valuer then Petronas Plat card.
Sent through FedEx, wasn't that good enough already as you didn't have to collect it yourself ? Besides, it's FexEx and not the usual Poslaju biggrin.gif

QUOTE(alexwsk @ Mar 1 2011, 10:13 PM)
another wild guess, did u apply pin for both the cards?
Yes. I did. I signed up for M2U using the Maybankard 2 VISA only and to my surprise, i can only see the Maybankard 2 VISA then. So i called their CS and asked them to help me to link the AMEX to my current M2U. I was told they will try to link it but in case it is still not linked, they ask me to do it at any of their branch. But then, the guy at their branch also told me he can't link it together. Anyway, i am going to open a savings account with them soon.

Guys, any of you have received your 5% weekend rebate for last month ? I actually received the full RM50 rebate, much to my surprise. Now i am confused if the 5% rebate is given based on the transaction date or posting date ... If it is based on the transaction date, then there is no way that i am getting the full 5% weekend rebate.

By the way, it seems that my Treatpoints balance is missing from the account details page ...
