1. what are the documents needed to renew my car insurance policy ?
2. can i use mbb 2 card amex to get 5% rebate on weekend on top of existing 10% rebate for etiqa car insurance
3. how can i collect my new insurance policy ?
4. can i renew my insurance policy for motorbike insurance as well ?

thanks
*
1. the geran (photocopy also can) must be with u. coz u need to enter engine number, chasis number, etc.
2. not sure if can pay using amex at motortakaful.com, my experience can only using visa/master (feb 2011).
3. etiqa will send cover note in pdf format to your email. later will post to address.
4. NO. confirmed via email by etiqa

Newly Enhanced Shell-Citibank Gold Credit Card and combine all your spending on shopping, dining, leisure and Shell Fuel to enjoy up to 8% Shell fuel rebates.

Maximum capping applies for rebates earned on Shell fuel spend
*
i use the Fuel savings calculator @ citibank website for my standard usage (of rm1k, to compare with mbb2 amex):

petrol rm400 + others rm600 can received monthly rebates rm24 only.
while mbb2 amex can get back rm50 (weekend), plus 5x tp rclxm9.gif

the annual salary requirement (gold card) is higher than mbb2 amex gold? doh.gif
plus, mbb2 amex is free annual fee while citibank shell gold need to pay rm195/year! whistling.gif

QUOTE(ronnie @ Apr 26 2011, 08:27 AM)
Today's Sun quoted "Credit card with best fuel rebate" ... what a laugh  cool2.gif  doh.gif  laugh.gif
*
IT IS!

ONLY IF, spend min rm2.5k per month, with min rm750 shell + balance on others, can get back rm60 or 64 per month.

but again, with total rm2.5k per month, mbb2 amex can get back rm50 (weekend) + 12,500 TP.
that TP can redeem for rm50 voucher (9,300 to 11,000) so total cashback equal to rm100 notworthy.gif

but for me, the most important thing is free annual fee without any conditions ~ brows.gif

Few weeks earlier, SCB Customer Service told me that I can maintain a SCB Mastercard(Supplementary) with my SCB Business Visa(Principal).
Subsequently, I asked for card cancellation of the SCB Mastercard.

Now Sales CS (from Price Solutions) says I had to maintain my SCB Mastercard(Principal) to ensure my SCB Mastercard(Supplementary) is active.... mad.gif vmad.gif
*
u CANNOT maintain supp without any principal card.
if u cancel/terminate principal, all supp will be cancelled too.

solution: just apply for new principal mastercard then cancel the visa principal & master supp ~

Just found this information at EonBank website. The min CL for Plat is so low, under my expectation.

what do u expect?

CL 'should be' equal to monthly income only, if not then how to pay? smile.gif

my mbb visa (before adding mbb2) and pbb CL is even less than my monthly income whistling.gif
but then, if i reached both CL, i should have my monthly income times 2. not included other cards yet?

coz i wont ever let the bank charge the interest on me! notworthy.gif

wow, great job man! what other cashback card can get 2.5%? OCBC Ti?
*
OCBC Ti can get 5% and 1% only. 5% for dining, groceries, bills & petrols.
once reach max rm50 cashback, then this card have no more function (points also dont have).
but, i'm not having this card (yet!), applied twice last year but failed sad.gif
will try again this year later around august/september ~

my free-for-life cashback cards:

1. MBB2 amex plat (5% weekend rebate, max rm50) + 5x TP.

2. DA MC plat (5% - 10% sunday rebate, 10% burger king rebate all-year, max rm50) + 1x point.

3. eon thestore/pacific plat (3% - 6% at thestore/pacific and 0.5% elsewhere) - not going to thestore/pacific, but this card give free cashback during registration (so can waived gst), got annual usage bonus (to waived gst every next year), can access klia & lcct lounge, just MUST swipe 3x/month to CONFIRM waived annual fee on next year.

4. pbb esso/mobil (0.5% unlimited) - seldom used already after get mbb2 amex (coz esso/mobil rebate is tier-based). for non-petrol, using eon now, coz can get annual bonus. might cancel this card later hmm.gif

5. uob preferred plat - use for selected places that offer discount for uob (1% - 3%). points convert to voucher ratio is ± 0.3% only. previously applied this card to use for klia & lcct lounge. might cancel this card later also sweat.gif

6. alliance plat credit (tier-based, first rm5k only, min 0.6% max 2%) - CANCELLED and REPLACED by alliance plat debit (1.5%, first rm4k only). cancelled bcoz alliance credit cant access lcct lounge while alliance debit plat can, plus debit dont have GST! laugh.gif

after minus the GSTs, total savings per year = ± rm1100 (excluding cash voucher redeemed from MBB, DA, and UOB!)

giant is credit card with Citibank
*
no offense, but for the card itself:

1. citibank-giant free annual fee for 1st year only. 2nd year onwards no guarantee/confirm free annual fee.
2. cashback is 2% only while for DA MC & MBB2 Amex is 5% (plus Amex got 5x TP) on weekend, also OCBC Ti is 5% everyday.
3. even if on weekdays, using MBB2 Amex can get 5x TP which is equal to ± 2.27% (11k TP for rm50 giant voucher) - still extra ± 0.27% than giant, while OCBC Ti 5%.

notworthy.gif

and for the rewards card, purchase topup at tesco rm500 can get back 250 tesco points. at giant, nothing ~

nvm the TP, coz current mbb2 got 30k+ TP already.

if i used amex just now, then all the weekend cash rebate for may is finished. a little bit rugi.
i prefer pump petrol next weekend with 5%, and for groceries, i already have rm130 tesco voucher right? brows.gif

QUOTE(fuu @ May 2 2011, 01:43 AM)
Hi there,

I encountered this situation while shopping yesterday.

The cashier issues a written-receipt (instead of printed one) and I paid it with my credit card. The cashier wrote the credit card number on the receipt with the 3 digit-number at the back. Is this normal?

Also, can another person (non-cardholder) buys something with the information of your card (such as credit card number and the 3-digit number) without the physical card itself?

Just some queries thoughts on card security that came to my mind  smile.gif
*
u pay with ur credit card, means swipe/slot at the terminal?

if yes then the cashier can just staple merchant copy slip with the receipt!
the cashier can wrote the card info, but should not wrote the 3 digit number at the back.

yes another person CAN buys something with the information on your card, usually online. but they still need expiry date.
they CANNOT if ur card have mastercard securecode or verified by visa - unless they know the password? sweat.gif

Yes, the card was swipe at the terminal. But the cashier did not key in the cash machine (something about the promotion code not in the system), hence the written receipt.

I will be take note of this in the future. Thanks for the heads up  smile.gif

ur welcome.

just keep checking ur card transaction via online banking, if found something fishy then inform the bank immediately ~

Which is the best card to use to pay AIA insrance premium, assuming I have no control over which day of the week it is going to be charged to my credit card?
MBB2 Amex, Visa
OCBC Titanium
SCB JustOne.
HSBC Gold

I think best is MBB2 Amex. Get the 5xTP
*
yes definately mbb2 amex as u said, but only, if AIA accept amex.

if not, OCBC Ti 1% is next (only if u still not reach the rm50 max cashback). same goes to SCB JustOne.

HSBC Gold - not worth it, 1x point only.

SCB and HSBC to my best knowledge does not offer conversion of points to cash.
Yeah ... previously SCB Business Platinum IMO @ 0.5% was at the borderline of it being attractive or not. With the rebate lowered to 0.3% then I predict a mass exodus of cardholders to other cc products. Still for those wanting airport lounge access then it might still be attractive.

HSBC can convert 12,500 points to RM50 and credited in next statement ~

Does Pantai Hospital is using MBB terminal? If yes, then it should have the EzyPay menu.
*
AMEX DONT have installment plan.

since they asked u to check with mbb, means what u can do is swipe full amount with mbb VISA or MASTER only then call-and-convert-to-installment, which u will be charged 9% p.a 1 time for the total amount then it will be divided to period u choose (6/12/18 months).

better use DA or CIMB, their flexi-pay plan (call-and-convert-to-installment) give 10 months installment without any charge!
