If GST kick in June, you need to verify with bank on which date of June to be precise.

Dear LYN forumers,

Got a question to ask, if Shop ABC is Bank CBA merchant and the owner of the shop ABC hold the credit card of Bank CBA. Now:

Q1: Can the owner of Shop ABC swipe his Bank CBA credit card at his own Shop ABC? Being the owner of the shop is it ok? Violating any rules?

Q2: Same condition as Q1 but this time Owner of Shop ABC swipe his Bank CBA credit card every month with the same amount ( big amount assume >RM 20k ) and paid the full amount before the due date, is it ok to do so? Is this consider money laundering?
Anyone know?

Yes, this is against the Card Merchant Agreement and will lead to revocation of the merchant account and subsequent blacklist thereof biggrin.gif

Refer the merchant agreement, you cannot charge your own personal credit card under your own business establishment.

I dont think bank will really care becoz bank will earn from the interest....
But then again why would the shop owner swipe their own card? The bank will charge around 1-3% interest on all sales done on the machine (unless the shop has high sales volume)..

Ask the bank to reverse the charge..

As long as the shop doesnt have the receipt with your signature as proof, they wont get your money.

The merchant need to do reverse transaction at the terminal. Bank can't do anything.

However, since there is no receipt:
(i) merchant cannot do reversal.
(ii) Without the receipt (and your signature), merchant can't submit to bank for payment.

@Gen-X, i guess HSBC is still better in this case as their Agoda promotion is valid for a longer period of time and they have been extending it over and over again smile.gif

Merchants still can charge customers even without signature slips. I purchased some stuffs in Guardian last year and the cashier gave me the signed merchant's slip and kept the customer's slip without signature, and I also accidentally took the signed merchant's copy. My purchase was still charged anyway.

1st ask for reprint at POS terminal. If reprint fails then initiate VOID from terminal. All transactions send from terminal carry transaction ID. If VOID also fails then call bank to confirm. Else VOID should succeed and repeat the card payment process.

This is a simple process that each terminal operator should know.

Agreed !!!... the signature is not so important as it's not counter-checked. I've "forged" a few times

Today used my Standard Chartered CC to get 50% of total bill (excl alcoholic drinks) at Tony Roma's 1 Mont Kiara.
This offer valid on 21 and 22 May 2011 only...

And with the same receipt, gets me free parking at 1 Mont Kiara. rclxms.gif

Hi guys ... hope someone can help me with my situation here ... I currently travel alot for work .. around the world and I use quite alot of credit card ... anyway so far I only have 1 credit card ...

On my last trip, my credit card failed and luckily I had enough cash ... which got me worried and I think i definately need more than 1 credit card ... I currently having a VISA card ..

My question to you guys is .. should my 2nd card be a MASTERCARD ? Or should I stick to VISA ? I have a mixed feeling coz I thought it might be good to have both ... but most of the time I only see VISA .. so I'm worried if suddenly my VISA fails and then my MASTERCARD is not accepted ...

Should I get MASTERCARD or VISA as my 2nd card ? My 1st card is VISA.

Since your first CC is Visa. It's advisable to get a Mastercard for the 2nd as the backup.
