I did ask OCBC CS pertaining to the merchants above but they said they can't say for sure.

If you specify a particular outlet, I think CS will be able to advise you by retrieving cardmembers' transaction record database.
You don't ask "Is Giant supermarket entitled to 5% cashback for OCBC Titanium cardmembers? " . This question is too general.

Giant Kinrara and Puteri - 5%
Jusco IOI - 1%
Tesco Puchong - 5%
Carrefour Puchong - 5%
Esso/Mobil IOI -5% (I pump at Petronas)

AMEX is accepted in all the above merchant outlets.
*
Ronnie, what to confirm above, do you meant for Jaya Jusco Deparmental and Supermarket?

Jaya Jusco Departmental Store I know OCBC TMB gets 1% but Jaya Jusco Supermarket should get 5%. Reason why I say this is because I do get 5X MR with my Amex Gold Credit Card at Jaya Jusco Supermarket.

after 3 months working on my new job, wanted to apply a C.C to "reduce Stress" >.<

mainly because of my high spending of Fuels, where it could be up to RM350-400 per month... roads to my office could easilly find both Esso, Petronas and Shell (petronas + shell side by side + esso @ jejantas + shell near office) and (shell near office -> esso @ jejantas )

So mostly will pump both shell / esso OR petronas if required

Currently mostly are Esso Due to the smiles Card that could gain me extra RM15 for 1k spend (1k points -> RM15), Compared to Petronas that is 1k -> RM10 and Shell that temporary "Zero" Return atm... So i am looking foward to a higher return then only a mere RM15 for two months+

Considered PBB Esso, but after calculation @ only RM8 Per month (400/100*2%) , After march 31 2011... and for Citi Shell, with only RM6 per month (for Silver card Holders) + Extra RM90 annual fees PA = extra charges....) What cards would be recommended to be taken if this is the case?

read through 1st page, but due to salary limitation, highly doubt could get TI and those that needs more then 24k pa salary... +_+"

would like some suggestions on what card to take (Currently still have my dad's suplimentary C.C From Citibank, normal Citi Choice CC W/o any rebates from all fuel purchases, only Reward points that aren't very useful i think >.<)

anyone do enlighten me on this matter smile.gif

tq~

Click here to read my article titled Malaysia credit Card Annual Income and Credit Limit to check out what card have free annual fee.

You have few options:

1. For entry level cards, go to bank website and read more on the following cards,

1.1. UOB OneCard where you can get 2% Smart$ Cash at BHP only. But then you don't get Esso 1.5% cash back.
1.2. Alliance Bank Classic Card or You:niques Card where they do give cash back for petrol but since you only spend RM400-500, the cash back tier is low. Go read more on it.

2. If you read the link above, I mentioned that you still can get OCBC Titanium and HLB Essential if you really really want it. Go pledge FD with them and you'll get the card with Credit Limit same as your FD pledged.

3. Get Public Bank Debit Cards, take a look at their Esso Debit card and see if it will benefit you as the cash back is also based on tiers.

And if you do pump at shell, go get Bonus Link Card.

Last but not least, you can try apply OCBC Titanium and Maybankard 2 Cards eventho your income have yet to reach the Income Requirement. No harm trying if you really want the cards.

As for Jusco IOI Mall, both Supermarket and Departmental Store gets 1% rebate from OCBC Titanium...to the best of my knowledge.
I do notice that MBB's Transaction Description is separated as Jusco SMKT and Jusco DEPT ... maybe different MCC.

a guess but likely MBB's system is not based on MCC (or all groceries would have been eligible). Thus the chance of OCBC not getting 5% is there.

Thank you, must remember not to use OCBC TMC at JJ Supermarket. We do need a post on OCBC 5%. Ronnie, will appreciate if you can post again all the places that you have got 5% rebate with OCBC TMC and update periodically. And the next time anyone starts a new thread, you try to post it soonest possible so that it be at the first page.

I was in PJ last weekend, pumped fuel at a few Esso/Mobil stations, all of them accepted AMex.
When I came back to hometown, both Esso and Mobil declined my Amex. The cashier said "Sepatutnya boleh, tapi tak tau sekarang tak boleh pulak...dah complain tapi tak de orang datang troubleshoot"... doh.gif

Jusco is a "risky" merchant for OCBC Titanium cardmembers, coz always not sure 5% or 1% cashback until the statement comes out. LOL.

Totally agree... I rather use AMEX on weekends for Jusco

For SCB CC, I terminated using email function from inside the Internet banking. Just tell tell them your intention and the response is pretty fast.
