i just got my replacement today.

- go to maxis klcc, told them i have a prob with my home button. they gave a number so i just waited for my turn
- at the counter, just say my home button not as responsive. they play2 with my home button. actually mine wasnt so serious, and when he play my home button was actually fine tongue.gif
- they check for water damage
- i told them i forgot to bring my warranty card, but using my mykad was fine
- they asked me if i already backup or not. i did, but i guess they can help u if u havent
- i wiped my phone. settings > general > reset > erase all contents and settings
- took off my casing, screen protector, and sim card.
- go shopping
- after 2 hours, go maxis cntre again, take number again. go counter n pick up my phone. u can activate at the counter but i chose not to
- they gave me a new warranty card
- put back my casing on and realized i lost my screen protectors sad.gif

are u sure its ok if not bring the warranty card/service card ??
bcause my service card already lost with the box in my house.still can't find it.

and when u checkhed your phone is ok,why did u change your phone ??

after 2 hours,u just go to maxis centre or they called you after 2 hours ?

and what u mean by "u can activate at the counter but i choose not to".. activate what?

so the new warranty card.,is it another 1 year ?

Why it took 2 hours waiting time? I would say the home-button problem is kind of wear and tear issue, it might come back within a period of time, or it might not.

apparently 2 hours because that's the time they need to get the unit from warehouse (or something). read back the previous post, i remember someone said something like this. also the home button problem is kind of a well-known issue, that's why it's covered by warranty

well im not saying it's ok not to bring warranty card. i'm just sharing it was okay for me. maybe i was lucky? no idea

my home button was not in tip top condition. still usable, but maybe 25% of the time it cant register a double click. it would only get worse, so might as well get it changed now since im still under the official apple warranty (up to sept 26th 2011). im scared after the warranty ends (maxis extra 1year iphone warranty starts, since im in a 2year contract) it might get a little bit more complicated to RMA

err after 2 hours i went back to the maxis centre. they can't call me, remember? tongue.gif hahahaha

activate iphone of course. it's not something u put in the sim card, on and straightaway use. have to connect to itunes etc 1st.

no, the warranty card doesnt extend my warranty another year. no warranty works like that bro. the old card has a IMEI number matching my old iphone IMEI number... this new card has the new iphone IMEI, that's all.

Just wondering from those who have experience with DiGi warranty.

Is the home button covered? Last time when i had a earpiece problem, i sent mine for warranty and the particular DiGi Centre did tell me that wear and tear (basically, he is referring to unresponsive home button) is NOT covered under warranty. Is it covered or not? Planning to send mine cause it is intermittenly irresponsive. Not always but alot of times.

I have a faulty home button too.
A few questions i would like to ask before i go and ask for warranty
1) What is the best way to do back up for
-sms
-calender
-todo
-played and save games
-Notes
-msg in chat app, ie whatsapp, ping chat and etc
2) Do we need to remove the jailbreak before ask for warranty?
3) Maxis will do 1 to 1 exchange?

i am a maxis iphone plan user.

Thank you for answering in advance.

i suppose backing up in iTunes will do. Also, rmbr to transfer purchases. u can do this by connecting your ipon to laptop/pc, in iTunes, on the left sidebar u'll see ur ipon. Right click and tadaa u can see the options there
2) Do we need to remove the jailbreak before ask for warranty?
Yes. Just restore as new phone, or go to Settings > General > Reset > Reset All
3) Maxis will do 1 to 1 exchange?
Yes

time to complain to MCMC since Maxis service is far superior for the home button warranty.
