actually there is a thread quite similiar to ur problem. pls search harder. http://forum.lowyat.net/index.php?showtopic=1729083&hl=but yea, its 99% hardware problem. i have the same problem. single click registers as double click. single clicks dont register at all. double click takes u to home screen and not multitaskin bar. its very random and u need to press very hard right in d middle for it to function properly. really sux. im waiting for the home button to completely break and finally claim my waranty coz i doubt maxis wud change the fone coz d prob is very random n might not show up during the waranty claim.

QUOTE(wiraone @ Feb 23 2011, 12:50 PM) I believe the home button lag is not due to the hardware, but you're free to go ahead getting yours changed. I've the same problem with my 3GS, the problem will go away if I closed all the apps in the memory but the button will less responsive when I build up the apps in the memory.. resetting the iphone solved the problem but once the apps build up again, the lag is coming back. sorry to spread the bad news. but ip4 home button problem is quite an issue. try googling it and ull see countless complains. from a more personal experience, i restored the fone as new fone and the problem still persists. i need to press spot-on in d middle of the middle with pressure. its kinda annoyin but i got used to it overtime. lucky im on a 2yr warranty. so if it gets worse, ill send it over to maxis. in a nutshell, this problem is quite big among ip4 users. blame it on the low quality home button i guess.

QUOTE(Andrew Lim @ Mar 24 2011, 09:49 AM) The comments on this article are interesting: iPhone Help: Fixing an Unresponsive Home Button. Several comments say that you can try fixing the problem by pressing hard on the screen near the left/top-left of the Home button. That may be where the Home button flex is located. i have to press mine on d bottom right hand corner of the button. d most unresponsive part is top left. its almost unresponsive 95% of the time on that top left corner.

Ytdy i went to gardens Maxis to claim for my faulty home button. at first the employee like relunctant to change and saying d button can work. (duh ofcoz it works if u apply max pressure on d button). den after pressin abit more n attempting to bring up d multitaskin bar, d success rate was bout 10% only. he den admitted d button is spoiled and said can claim warranty but it takes 2 weeks for dem to process d claim compared to klcc where it only takes approx 2hrs.. what i can say is its such a stupid policy to wait 2weeks for d claim.. so while waitin for d claim, are they gonna supply us with a temporary fone? i doubt it.. p/s i hope can change my black32gb ip4 to white try my luck lar..haha.

QUOTE(MyKy44 @ Jun 11 2011, 11:22 AM) i still haven't get my replacement. been 1 month. went again yesterday, say stock should come in next 2-3 weeks. hope get replaced la.. my home button is dead. luckily got activator to replace.. i just went to klcc.. got immediate stock for ip4. on d spot change but i declined. QUOTE(Andrew Lim @ Jun 11 2011, 07:30 PM) Funny enough my Home button no longer has any problems. May be because I changed the way I press it. I cover the whole button with avthumb and press it evenly and not just at one corner. Been about 2 months without problem. mine was pretty bad last week. after i dropped it few days back, it seemed ok now. i still went to klcc today n they cudnt see anythin wrong (coz they were using their whole thumb to cover the button n pressin it hard). but they still offered to change, altho they recommended not to change till it bcums totally faulty or later on as it nears ur warranty coz d replacement model might be d same n coz ur gettin a refurbished unit. now i just press abit harder usin my nails, so its kinda ok. guess have to adapt la til it bcums totally faulty.

QUOTE(MyKy44 @ Jun 11 2011, 08:27 PM) D: why u declined plak? yours still ok ka? mine on the contrary is like a gamble game. might activate might not mine was damn bad.. but recently it became better. mayb d spring inside became better or mayb d method im pressin is different. now i cover d whole button and press it firmly. success rate is 60%. but compared to my frens 3gs, his one press softly oso can register. i assume its overall ip4 problem. den i figured dat mine is ori unit well taken care of sumore. so better i claim wen d button completely rosak. but i gotta advise everyone to becareful of ur liquid test paper at d bottom. my fren followed me to claim his 3gs warranty coz his mute button totally condemn. turns out his unit void coz d indicator turned pink although he did not touch any water. must be d humidity and sweat. very furious with maxis but wat to do, its apple's policy. so dats wat im scared of..wen wanna claim time, due to sweat d indicator change color.
