Mind you i applied for the Citibank credit card using my HSBC MasterCard and this MasterCard is not a secured credit card. Just want to avoid any confusion.

btw, how many years you pledge it?  smile.gif

That's it... Going to convert my SCB Platinum Visa to SCB Business Visa Platinum.... let's hope can waive the GST :-)

Is the 0.5% cash back creditted at the end of the statement date monthly ?
The RM25 Cash-back is upon request, right ?

Are the Choicepoints evergreen ?
*
No it's not evergreen. Only SCB VI ChoicePts is evergrn.
RM25 cashback is not a gift but a redemption item, you need 5,000 pts to redeem that.

i would like to ask you one question. let's say i am applying for my 3rd credit card ©, which scenario is better to get higher limit and better chance of being approved:

scenario 1

Card A: Fully utilized and been paying minimum

Card B: Almost fully utilized and paying minimum

or

scenario 2

Card A: no outstanding at all

Card B: no outstanding at all

Was told most banks prefer scenario 2, but some say they like customers in scenario 1 better so that they can earn from the interest. What do you think?

i'm in scenario 2 and my application for ocbc is rejected sweat.gif

btw i never applied for credit card actually. usually i got it bcoz joining something or opening bank account with them.

maybank & rhb (rhb terminated already) - join palace vacation club and they applied for me.

hsbc - open saving acc (closed already the acc, but continue using cc)

da - open saving acc. that time still southern bank, still using both bank acc (now cimb) & cc

ambank - opening current acc (closed already the cc, but continue using acc)

uob - they approach me

ocbc - this is 1st time applying cc, last oct.
1st time applied using current cc (da >3 years) rejected, 2nd time using all documents also rejected.

tell us ur result then ok? laugh.gif

SCB's cash back system is the best, as it states clearly cash back details for every single transaction. Normally the cash back details can be viewed online 3 days after the transaction is made.

You can redeem RM25 cash by using your 5,000 choice points upon request, and the cash will be credited in your account within a week. I normally utilise the choice points earned from my JustOne cc to redeem cash, as the choice points will be expired every 3 years.

Prior to the anniversary of my SCB WMC, I will convert the card to SCB Business Visa Platinum. SCB WMC's benefit really sucks!

The SCB iPad promo is based on 1000th, 2000th, 3000th,... SMS sender, not the fastest.

Mm...I wanna be the 100,000th sms sender...but what if there is no 100,000th sms? They are so confident that it will definitely pass the limit.
And this time the minimum spend amount has been increased to 4k, they seems to increase the minimum spend amount from one promotion to another.

Just saw the new Citibank Platinum credit card today. It sparks a much cleaner design and the VISA/MasterCard emblem is moved to the back of the card. The word "PLATINUM" is also made much smaller. Overall, it now looks more like a silver card rather than a platinum card which is great especially to those who do not want people to know they are holding a platinum card smile.gif

your application approval and CL in not just based on above, the banks will also take into consideration of your income and total credit facilities approved by other banks e.g. housing loan, car loan personal loan, OD, etc. Different banks have different evaluation criteria, In the last thread, one guy applied many cards one go and some banks rejected his application and another bank giving him Platinum.

Good to know more and more banks are offering this kind of instant fund transfer service. So, there are currently 3 banks offering this :
- Hong Leong Bank
- EON Bank
- CIMB Bank

By the way, the IBG service fee for CIMB Bank savings/current account has also been revised from RM2/IBG to RM1/IBG.

this, u using credit card from other bank (not maybank) and have outstanding balance, then transfer it to maybank.
if u choose 12months, then no need to pay any 1 time upfront fee, and the balance will convert to 12months installment.

Added on December 11, 2010, 6:55 pmexample, using abc bank credit card and got rm7800 outstanding, transfer to maybank and u need to pay only rm650/month for 12 months.

for HSBC visa platinum is it now free as long as you swipe 12 times a year. Amanah is free also. Today at Midvalley, the HSBC told me that Amanah give cash back and even GST, but I was not interested so didn't bother to ask further. Go check it out.
