I thinking of not going to activate that Hong Leong cc once I received it.
But I still need to pay RM50 government charges even I not activate it?

Btw, how long I need to keep the card before I can really cancel it without any penalty or charges? |

QUOTE(ronnie @ Dec 12 2010, 01:19 AM) Hopefully SCB will extend the RM188 cash back promotion. But this RM188 cash will only given to new card upon approval. So I may have to apply for the new card first and thereafter cancel the WMC.Added on December 12, 2010, 6:35 am QUOTE(uhlaw @ Dec 12 2010, 03:07 AM) That's very cunning of HLB, forever and always! This post has been edited by winner: Dec 12 2010, 06:35 AM |

QUOTE(skincladalien @ Dec 12 2010, 12:44 AM) hi guys, i was at motor show earlier and there are alot of cc promoting booth in pwtc, the promoter says that next year the rm50 gst will be canceled? Yes, most people were being conned into signing up for credit cards due to desperate promoters. I was at The Curve last October where I met this HSBC Senior Card Sales Executive. After listening to his explanation on the promotion of the HSBC Visa Platinum, such as cash bonus of RM50 on 1st swipe to cover the GST and 10% cash back on the 1st RM650 spend, I also signed up for the application. The promoter was so confidently told me that next year's GST will be cancelled. That was before the 2011 Budget was announced. When I received my new card on the same month itself, I did the necessary spending wait for the GST and other rebates to be credited back on the following month statement. Still no refund on first month. Tilll this month, there's no refund being given. So I called up the Customer Service and they are unaware about the promotions. I cancelled the card on the spot. My advice to all who wants to apply credit cards, please be careful when you meet this kind on unscrupulous promoters.i look around and cant find any news on this, am i being conned? |

However, if you have other CC from another bank that offers balance transfer at attractively low interest; i.e 0% for 6/12 months, you can transfer the outstanding to that CC. By doing so, you can utilize your cash for other revolving purpose; not getting into more debts. Make a wise decision. |
