QUOTE(Gen-X @ Dec 11 2010, 04:34 PM) your application approval and CL in not just based on above, the banks will also take into consideration of your income and total credit facilities approved by other banks e.g. housing loan, car loan personal loan, OD, etc. Different banks have different evaluation criteria, In the last thread, one guy applied many cards one go and some banks rejected his application and another bank giving him Platinum. i know.. but i'm speaking about other card spending and payment pattern here..

MilesAndMore, you've just received two credit cards from citibank right? How's the CL offered to you? Added on December 16, 2010, 9:30 pmQUOTE(MilesAndMore @ Dec 16 2010, 09:21 PM) MR = Membership Rewards Points - All American Express credit/charge cards without the Maybankard logo TP = Treatpoints - All other Maybank credit cards Someone has done this before at the Maybank Treats Fair. TP = Treatpoints for all maybank credit cards except World Mastercard where it accumulates Treats Airmiles which is convertible to Enrich miles instead. QUOTE(persistence85 @ Dec 19 2010, 07:13 PM) Let say if my Maybank branch give me pre-approved card, does it mean high percentage will get approved? high percentage but not always. your ccris is still being checked also. nowadays maybank has included a clause which allows them to decline even pre approved applications. pre approved applications are made based on branch's recommendation but processing unit still runs through credit review before giving their green light. maybank branches normally offer pre approved credit cards and charge cards (except maybank world mastercard and american express platinum charge card both are exclusively pre approved only to maybank PWM customers) based on a few factors which may include: 1) substantial FD 2) salary banked in through that maybank branch even though by cheque bank in and not via auto credit 3) hire purchase / housing loan / OD facility This post has been edited by rockefeller: Dec 19 2010, 10:34 PM

Those who travel abroad often, I highly recommend Maybank credit cards. There are times when the conversion rate is even cheaper compared to money changer! Maybank credit cards saved me a lot of money during my travels so far.

Hi. I would like to ask if you guys have heard of this ruling where a Principal cardmember can not be the Suplemantary cardmember of the same bank?
Situation: A (Husband) holds a principal Visa card from Bank XXX. He provided his wife, B, with a supplementary card Visa card from Bank XXX.
A few years later, the wife (B) has steady income of her own and applied for the same card type, Visa card from Bank XXX as her own principal card. She then gives her husband (A) a supplentary Visa card from the same bank.
The bank wrote to both husband and wives to cancel each other's supplementary as they have their own principal card. Is this really the case? It doesn't make sense to me.

QUOTE(hye @ Dec 28 2010, 04:52 PM) Again ... I would like to reiterate that the selection of credit card of choice should never be based on freebies or offer to offset service tax waiver. (Most cards are generally free in one form or another) It should be based on what you want to get out of your spending habits. E.g. Points, cash rebates, air miles etc. A good place to think about your choices would be the first page. I fully agree. Many are motivated by freebies and service tax waiver unfortunately.

The best way to use any credit card is to treat it like charge card. That is, to pay in full every month. This way, you will be in control of your finances and they have no way to slaughter you with the ridiculous interests.

I have a friend who is currently holding Maybank Visa Platinum and Amex Platinum Credit Card. He asked me to recommend him a Platinum Mastercard whose Annual Fees can be waived (by minimum spending / swipes or without conditions).
What's your take on this guys?

QUOTE(MilesAndMore @ Jan 6 2011, 09:03 PM) Every HSBC Premier shares an identical design across the globe. The one issued by HSBC Malaysia, is not a World MasterCard despite what is written on it. Yes. I have also seen the real physical card myself but still, HSBC Malaysia doesn't issue a World MasterCard. The HSBC Group only issues World MasterCard in USA, Australia and Japan. This is why in all other countries where a Premier MasterCard is also offered, it is simply marketed as HSBC Premier MasterCard instead of HSBC Premier World MasterCard. No. It is not. Or else, HSBC could have sued CIMB Bank and MasterCard Worldwide for issuing such a misleading statement back in year 2008 that the World MasterCard has finally arrived in our shore and CIMB Bank is the first bank to issue such card. The first World MasterCard in Malaysia is CIMB Enrich World MasterCard. Not MBF World Mastercard?

QUOTE(ben83 @ Jan 8 2011, 10:44 AM) Just received MBB WMC, matte black quality plastic. Also comes with free leather passport holder pouch. i like how infinite and world cards are matte finish these days instead of flashy black surface. they provide the 'understated elegance' statement. cimb world infinite is of darker shade compared to maybank though.
