Change in msia cheaper or in sg?
*
the spread from buy to sell in msia is 20 cent.... in sg is 10 cent... so msia is slightly cheaper, but if you are changing big quantity, safer to do it in sg...

Doesn't tighter spread means better rates? IE the rates they offer is closer to the actual exchange rate.

basic less than 2.5k can also get epass. My first job, i have basic of 1.6k only then after adding allowance and so, i got bout 2.5k, i think they look at the whole sum up rather than just basic.

Not only that, they also look at ur education qualification though.

why not? if u exclude rental and bills, $200 can be quite ok already for food. i can survive with $5 a day previously. skip breakfast, then eat rice $2.70 (add rice) in the afternoon, when go back after work, buy 1 bread $1.25 (Fair Price bread). 1 bread can eat 2 days. and of course, buy a bottle of peanut butter (around $3 in value $ store). peanut butter can last around 1 1/2 month. with $200, i think the balance we can use for transportation as well. living standard in SG is quite cheap la. So if include rental $400, phone $70, i can survive with $700 a month. Of course i choose not to survive that way coz I love to eat junk food like those XL chicken chop ($4), so i usually spare $450 for my food. But now i stay in JB, so i will allocate $300 for food, and i can eat like a monster with it everyday tongue.gif
*
Haha.... live so kang kor to survive like that. in shortterm you can do it but i doubt if you 365 days or years to survive just like tat. even if you eat the same thing everyday you also cannot make it right.

I subscribed Singtel mobile broadband, but then after 5 to 10 min, i cannot surf already even though my computer is showing that im still connecting to the internet. Anyone staying in ang mo kio area having the same problem? Or only me? sad.gif Or do I need to do some setting on my laptop? I called the technical support, they still didn't manage to solve the prob. sigh
*
What you need to do is to do a tracert from your computer to say, www.yahoo.com and check on the latency of the ping. If it's high, then you know it's the bandwidth congestion. Then capture these results and show it to the Singtel folks.

Other problem that I faced before was that even though there is a network connection, it drops to GPRS or weak 3G/HSRP. Buy a 3Meter USB cable and dangle at the window and try to see if that solve the problem or not as well.

It is common on those early days for new student/worker in SG. They don't have much money until they can find a job and survive till pay day. If your have a high paying jobs then you are having a better starting point, don't need the "survival".

On those early days I don't buy drinks from the drink stall. Just ta pao normal food and make my own drinks. Best meal was $2 nasi kari from a Mamak stall near boonlay CC.

i was able to buy ticket on airasia for KL->Singapore but not able to buy tigerairway ticket for going back to Malaysia. so i wonder whats wrong here....they prefer i stay in singapore?

anyways, if i renew my passport on Feb when in Malaysia, am i able to use my new passport and non-updated spass to get into Singapore?
also, my HR only applied 1 year SPass for me (valid till July 2011), after i renew the passport on Feb, i still got like 6 months to SPass expiry date, is it appropriate to ask my HR to renew my SPass?
