QUOTE(dhyane27 @ Nov 25 2010, 03:23 PM) i think its all about the IP address u get..sometimes certain IPs give me good speed when downloading from rapidshare,megashares,megaupload..etc..im not a torrent user,so im not sure about torrents..but i also use IDM..it really depends on the IP...sometimes i have to disconnect 10 times to get a good IP.. all the ip address ranges I tried, all have the same problem

They probably cap by user's account, anyone using VPN face this speed cap issue? They probably activate the cap if they see bandwidth usage more than certain percentage on certain IP range/routes.
Hopefully they won't impose monthly cap, that'll be sucks with my current download behavior.

i think TM is having some routing issues. tested some IP's, only one range is giving good speed.

Aizuddin Danian & rizvanrp are to blame for the current mess we are in right now, because they with their holier then thou attitude gave tm the idea of a cap.

or better yet, tm should cancel all streamyx, unifi or any sorf of broadband crap. let malaysian users use ONLY DIAL-UP. line just ngam2 for surf, p2p download will take years, users will get bored or let down so they wont p2p at all.

QUOTE(fylon @ Nov 25 2010, 03:21 PM) You're right bro. And hence I did few more test for reference. Guys, do take note that the result below wasn't from TMnuts but instead is from Times.com. Just for your reference to compare the download speed cap issue from diff ISP. Cyber Jaya: London: India: SG: US: Russia: Those countries are very far and u may not get an accurate speedtest result in such a case and will be slower as expected however Singapore and Cyberjaya shows strong results so it does not look like the same issue as TM's where even Cyberjaya/Singapore are affected.

With them imposing throttling for the reason of BS *FUP* already heating up some frustrated users (me included). And capping... wait till Maxis or other ISP move into wired services... (you know the rest).

Yea I know the place is far, but this shouldn't be the result for cooperate line thou. Was doubting is that any routing issue or not.

This has nothing to do with them or their meeting with TM, some users have encountered the cap on international (and even local) bandwidth for many months now. In fact similar caps have existed in one form or another for years now. That you have not encountered this you should consider yourself lucky. You should also read their FAQ regarding "contention ratio" which they will point you to when you complain. CODE What this means in the 'worst case' is that you could be sharing a 1000 kbps connection with up to 25 other users. So if they were all using Streamyx at the same time 'theoretically' you would only get 40 kbps.
However, 'in reality' this scenario is very unlikely to happen and you should usually find it to be far faster than a dial-up connection.

Basically, so many problems... they should had just re-structure the whole system and adapt the new ISP practice of giving limited package.
1mbps limit to 10gb per month, if wan more you have to purchase more.
Reduce the price and earn more from those torrent-hoggers and media sharing fellas..
