Affordability is one

but use as you pay is another whole issue after all.. dont get me wrong.

i was suggest you use wat u paid for.. if u wanna hog the line pay more. Thats why Tmnet is so stupid to give unlimited package. Its like open the floodgate to get flooded.

True, different countries all have bandwidth cap. Unlimited bandwidth was good in the old days since they are the only ISP aside from jaring or times.

aiya, you guys arguing about whether to limit data transfer or to increase bandwidth, when in fact both can be done.

what TM should have done: increase network capacity, and then limit data transfer. we all know it's about time the network capacity be increased what with unifi and all that shit. following the logic that they want to make as much money as possible, then they can cap the data trasnfer at 200GB and upwards, depending on data package. this is what some ISPs in the US are already doing.

win-win for all no? (except us consumers of course)

I signed streamyx during 384kbps and its was given free during initial promotion. That time not everyone has a computer at home.

If compare now.. one house atleast 2 computers 2 mobile phone. My house has 3 computers, 6 smartphones and its only 1mbps (no unifi/4mb/2mb for my housing)

imagine..

capping is one thing but capping on every protocol on the net is ridiculous. HTTP, FTP, etc. what kind of stupid capping is this?

ofcourse but increase capacity it not as easy as 123. You need alot of work.. involve alot of JKR stuff and all.

if both can be ofcourse = VOILA~ but in fact corporate strategy = no way.. we need money for this.. how to generate money?cap the unlimited and get hoggers to contribute..

icon_question.gif Unifi 1mbps? Dont have such package la.. You mean 5 mbps rite??

Anyway unifi uses fiber optic instead of sharing the phone line copper wire.. So it should give you a lower ping in online gaming... Should la tongue.gif But we know that tmnut always fakap something..

he said b4 unifi, he was using 1mbps..

its due to your port was far from the exchange.

Same sense, if u take iphone install speedtest.net u run a test infront of your wireless router.. it will be lesser ping.. if far = high ping

my port was station in kelana Jaya near the FAM football field.. according to TM and i am staying in Seapark. for those who dont know its around 5~10km away

I think is that there is no competition now in the market for wired ISP. I agree that laying network & increasing bandwidth is expensive but TM has already monopoly the market for so long, the profit should have more than enough to cover the initial investment.

Take for example the mobile phone, before there was competition, the price for monthly fee was very expensive, now with many players in the market, the price is getting more affordable.

Competition is the way to go.

Added on November 25, 2010, 5:29 pmAlso like CPU processor, remember when AMD was not competitive, intel pricing was very high, then when AMD got competitive, the prices came down, it is the same everywhere, when there is no competition, there is no incentive to reduce price.

You can compare really,

Those are monopoly thru power or their competitiveness.. that they ARE REAL GOOD in their industry.

But TM was granted monopoly by u know who and how. They are not best but just give the opportunity to monopolize.

Do they really earn money or not.. i dunno.. They can earn alot of money but expenses is high, like MAS case, BIG tummy CEO, Directors and Managers?. Its not a common practise that i earn 10 bucks i need throw 10bucks into the company u know...
