Guys, just something to update here. I'm downloading iOS 4.2 from Apple website now with max speed, but my download from other webserver seems been throttled by 75%! I just wonder, is tmnuts bypass those well known webserver and only throttle public file sharing IP?

It seems to be capped international routing..
Try reconnect and get different range of IP and do test again.

Doesnt seems to work. As had spend 3 hrs to tried this method, and almost get all the IP range within my area and the result the still the same. Even with my own company VPN tongue.gif Just for testing purpose.

If your company is local, it might be affected too.
VPN does encrypt your data, it should be works..
My line is working fine just acting up for sometimes.

My company (Hint: NTT Do**mo tongue.gif) has several router over the world thou, had tried all the VPN connection from nearest SG, JPN, AUS, Saudi Arab, Belgium & etcs but also given the same result.

Guys, just a quick thought. Wondering has anyone actually make a comparison about this tmnuts speed cap issue with other ISP such as times.com / maxis? Because I had just run a speedtest with times.com leased line and seems like they do have capping too. Will put up screen shot later. Do take note this is 2MB leased line but speed is crapping. vmad.gif

803ms quite high ping, might have some time out during the hops to the test..

Really hard to see whether is cap or real server problem. Each ISP's hop can be different. TM might have lesser hops to USA but time have more.. hence its slower..
*
You're right bro. And hence I did few more test for reference. Guys, do take note that the result below wasn't from TMnuts but instead is from Times.com. Just for your reference to compare the download speed cap issue from diff ISP.

i think TM is having some routing issues. tested some IP's, only one range is giving good speed. sweat.gif

Hard to determine. As I had tried with other ISP, it seems to have the same problem as well.

Those countries are very far and u may not get an accurate speedtest result in such a case and will be slower as expected

however Singapore and Cyberjaya shows strong results so it does not look like the same issue as TM's where even Cyberjaya/Singapore are affected.
*
Yea I know the place is far, but this shouldn't be the result for cooperate line thou. Was doubting is that any routing issue or not.

Updates. Some result from TM leased line. Seems only only end user side having problem thou, corporate line free from capping. Test taken with 1.5mb leased. Only connection to India seems slow, rest are fine.

just some updates, I bet the capping issue is for real. I rang to 100 last night and they send technician to my house today. Just like 15mins ago, when I tell him about my exact problem. The technician directly tell me there is an issue with stimyx line with international side. As tmnuts now capping the bandwidth at certain time frame in order to feed it them to some 4mb / unifi user. And nothing they can do.

can any proof? then should we ask for rebate???

they cap us 90%....

so should rebate 90% from the bill right?

110 Combo = 99MYR discount...

so total we pay RM11 for 1Mb combo .....
*
Well.. I'm not sure about the rebates. wink.gif But at least I found the technician is quite honest and tell directly about whats happening without bla alot of sh*t.

then after technician go to your house.... and no solve the problem... what u do again to this case? just wait for fine? or did you call back to 100 asking what's the problem since the technician cant solve your problem ?
*
Well, what do you can do if your in my position? tongue.gif Raise tons of complain will works? Call 100 every 5mins to complain? I can assure that tmnuts side can just close their eyes and ignore all our complaints tend there is nothing happen at all if they wanted to. Like what bro GameSky said, they are the big boss., everything come and goes through them. Nothing much 100 can do also even call them back now said problem not resolved, as we all know they are outsource, they just following the order. Is all about the high level management in this situation, I bet. wink.gif

Of cause not to say going to let them be in this way and keep silent, will try at least to fight for rebates. I'm pretty sure they CS side will call me either tonight or tomorrow to ask about the progress, I will try to talk to the nicely and see what they can offer me. At some point, I found that talk politely to them, there is some unexpected found, just like the info which given by the technician who come to my house. After all, I think we shouldn't put our blame to their lower rank worker like CS & technician, they just what the boss said and they knew nothing. icon_rolleyes.gif

Update here. They send another technician again today, but not to my house instead to done some tweaking over their infrastructure side at my area here. Landline and internet were totally dead for 20mins after the technician called up, and now my line seems to be better bit. At least run at 120-100kbps if compare with last few day below 60kbps.

And the CS called me too, and tells about there is an issue on TMnets with international website and will revert to me on Monday. I will ask for rebates by that time when they call if problem still presist. Finger crossed. My case seems a bit better compare with some other forumer here eh? sweat.gif

i believe this is server problem not capping. Cause during Jan this year i do suffer same problem which is stuck at 1 mbps during 5pm to 2am other time it was 4 mbps it take nearly 1 month plus to settle my problem.
*
I do believe your right bro! After I lodged 2 complains to TM, and they send a technician to did some job on their infrastructure nearby my place (I remember I'm facing about 20mins of down time for both my landline & internet), then after that my so call "capping" seems to lifted from below 50kbps to 100kbps although the speed is fluctuating but at least I'm on better speed. I bet the technician might had reallocate my line / port to other gateway.
