Good day, I'm planning to apply a classic credit card. Currently planning to apply one at CIMB bank.
The online form shows anual fee is free for life but the website shows only for platinum cards.
Can any CIMB classic card holders clarify this? Also, how is their customer service as I have heard a lot of bad rumours about them.
*
1st, not sure if CIMB still offer classic card. 2nd, CIMB with Petronas logo confirm free for life (both principal and supp) w/o any terms.

What will happen if i have installment plan in my CC, but i only pay the minimum amount, not including the installment plan? I'm using DA.
*
i'm wondering, is it minimum amount already included the installment plan amount? hmm.gif

u mean if ur minimum is 260 and got installment 100 so u want to pay 160 only? bank wont take it as u not paying the installment, but not paying the minimum. u wont get 20 days interest-free period (of coz) and all the remaining balance will have finance charges sweat.gif

Has any OCBC Ti cardmember here paid TM bills at TM Authorised dealer (TAD) and got 5% rebate?
*
i paid at TMPoint and yes get 5%. not sure with TAD, sorry.

maybe the branch delay to submit ur form. next time, apply online (certain banks). or maybank, call 0358914777 to get pre-approved card (referred to their website)

juz wanna ask, SCB give me a CC but i dont want to use it now.
so if i dont activate the card, do i need to pay for the service tax (rm50)?
*
QUOTE(bingozero @ Nov 26 2010, 06:32 PM)
You no need to pay because SCB give RM88 cash back on new gold card and RM188 for new platinum card  tongue.gif
*
In order to get RM88 or RM188 cash, you first need to activate and swipe your card as the cash will only be credited to your account upon first usage.

No worries. All principal MasterCard from CIMB Bank is free for life. I am 100% sure on this  smile.gif

QUOTE(Phelddagriff @ Nov 26 2010, 09:44 AM)
Not the CIMB Enrich Mastercards. Can you call and ask for waiver or is it strictly with spending?
*
I can confirm that CIMB Enrich MC is not free for life, as my colleague had just paid the AF. Perhaps he did not request for AF waiver. Unlike other CIMB/DA CCs, AFs are automatically waived without sending a request.

Slight correction. Best don't apply for the card if you have no intention to use it to avoid tax.
*
I totally agree with you. I wonder why so many so-called vulnerable people like to apply for CCs for "fun" but are only worried about the service tax when their cards are approved. If they do not have the intention to pay the tax, in the first place they should not apply for those cards which do not give incentive to offset the tax.

QUOTE(chemistry @ Nov 24 2010, 03:10 PM)
Pls google 'cimb flexi pay plan' and 'cimb i.Pay Plan'. Both are the installment plans CIMB is offering.
I'm afraid the plans are gonna expire by year end.
*
Both promotions will be ending on 31/12. FYI, if you opt for Smart i.Pay, you will be charged an upfront interest of 2% to 5% depending on the transaction amount.

MBB within 14 days would be the norm. But sometimes it takes longer if the person you submitted the form delay in forwarding to card centre or your documentation not in order. Actually for MBB, you can call the card centre (get the number from MBB website), speak to a marketing person where he will fax the form to you and you fax back the form to him and follow up with him.

I reapply for MBB Petronas Plat Visa at branch and it took less than a week to be approved (but to note MBB have my records as I use to have the Petronas MBB cards and now have AMEX Gold CC), the card was approved on 16th Nov and received it by poslaju on the 20th.

Also reapply RHB Plat Visa (cancelled few years back and I do banking with them) and took 4 working days to be approved from date of submitting the application. Submitted on 19th Nov and card ready on 24th Nov, picked up the card yesterday.

My Dad upgraded his DA Plat to World yesterday. All done by fax. Called Sunway Piramid Card Centre at 10am, they fax over application form, fax back the form and after lunch got a call from them to collect card. My mum supp card also automatically upgraded without her signing anything.

As for my Eon Card application, submitted form last Tuesday, as of yesterday not in system yet. And the CS who promised to check on my application failed to call me back. Not too happy with EON Bank as was made to hold pretty long eventho called the Signature Line. The general line worst, just wait and wait and wait like the old MBB. But MBB now answer calle pretty fast for Plat line.

Me not into watches and got a shocked yesterday, was at Watatime and saw than not many Rolex watches below RM20K and many above RM100K. My Dad was saying his new DAWMC also not enough to swipe for a watch and the first Omega watch he bought was only RM310 40 years back.

Not really.
When I received my statement just 1 day after getting the card, the bonus has already been credited into the account. I just need to spend the remaining balance. lol

for each Gold card approved, cash bonus RM88
for each Platinum card approved, cash bonus RM188
That means, if you get both Visa & Mastercard approved, you get double the bnus.

i have read previously that Jusco is not eligible for 5% rebate for OBCB TI. Has anyone managed to try other Jusco outlets and got their 5% rebate?

The cash back RM88/188 will be credited into your account even BEFORE you activate the card. I called the customer service to confirm there is a CREDIT balance in my account before start swiping them (I have applied two Platinum cards lately)... tongue.gif

The cards are now in my "safe" once I fully enjoyed the net RM138 cash amount... Hahahah

just call the Maybank CS today for a pre-approved Amex Gold cc. they require 3 months bank statement from my Maybank current a/c & company ROC to be fax to them. (Dun understand why they still need the statement as they can see everything in their system liao...) rclxub.gif
No need fill any form & no signature needed. Will fax over the document later & see how long it takes to get the card...

FYI, the CS said that most of the restaurant & departmental stores also entitle to 5x reward point for amex gold cc.
she advised me to spend 2k in first 3 mths & get 10k rewards point to offset the GST...and will think about it since amex is running 15% cash rebate now. thumbup.gif
