Likely yes ... credit card risk management system also check customer's ability (and consistency) to pay their bills. This indicates whether you are a good paymaster or not - if you are not, bank will flag you out coz they don't want themselves to have these kind of customers as well.
*
As far as i know black listed by telco and bank are totally no related.

I was black listed by one of the telco since 1997 (till now) and was holding my first MBF classic card till now being upgraded and applying new card from Gold card to now Platinum card without any problem.

Yes this applies generally. Three of my friends got their CIMB VI/WMC by submitting HSBC Platinum CL 30k. If you're in the banking industry, it is general knowledge that CIMB is desperate to increase its credit card database thus granting high credit limit to many people even without having substantial deposit /  facility with them. They are still far behind Maybank in terms of card membership.
*
Do you think holding an UOB platinum card with 30k CL, is there any chances to get a Worldcard or Infinite card? If yes, which bank do you suggest?
Do you think CIMB chances are more higher as you say they are desperate to increase its credit card database?

And AmBank gives 20% CASH BACK on your weekend (Sat & Sun) groceries + petrol at the participating grocery & petrol outlets.

since it's SMS, even if you send in sharp at 9:00am, you might not win as well
lots of forumer encountered the same with SCB promo b4 this oso
*
But, i thought that they said....(Spend & Redeem. Be the quickest to send in your sms on the redemption dates)
So, time send in sms is very important....If not, then they shouldn't write like that. I feel like cheated. vmad.gif

To be fair, i suggest that they listed the time of the winners sent in their sms... hmm.gif

Hi guys,

How is the approval rate for HSBC? I just apply last week..hope HSBC will approve me next week..

Normally how much credit limit HSBC giving for the classic card? let say my basic salary 2.3k..
*
approval rate should be low as HSBC is very strict. i guess CL for your salary should be 3-5k for a new applicant. nod.gif

You cannot guess how much CL will be given. Many ppl say ocbc is stingy, but I got surprisingly high CL.

However, I do agree that CIMB is the most generous in CL.
*
about the CL, not guessing but what we are saying here are mostly from the bank offer and it's based on the card member's experience.
is there anybody else want to share their experience just like what
kanethesun is sharing with us here, icon_rolleyes.gif

"CIMB yes, HSBC wise, depends on how long you've use the card I guess
I apply GSC-EON October last year, with RM3k CL, 2 months later, I apply CIMB Touch n Go, they give me RM7k CL"

Me, personally experience before HLB also offer higher CL when i got my new card. But, i'm wondering how do they know our existing card CL when we apply a new card by submitting photocopy of card & IC ONLY (without photocopy of card statement). rclxub.gif

No. You are wrong. Time deposit will help. Different banks different policy though. For Maybank, you must have your salary credited into your savings account. Then you'll be eligible for a pre-approved credit card.
*
yes, it's really help. 3 months ago, my friend deposit 6k into UOB fixed deposit and within a month the bank call him up to offer a credit card with 6k CL without submitting any document. icon_idea.gif

You will see all the time is 9:00am then and unlikely they will show the seconds. So no point displaying the time. But I think you will get at least 10k UNIRinggit if you send another SMS code, right?

yes, i think i should agree with you if i sent in another lower requirement sms, at least got chance to get 10k UniRinggit doh.gif

FYI, last year i open a saving account in Shen Zhen China Bank and they also give me a security device and charge me RMB15 for it. It seem like overseas country started these device more early than our country. It's much much more secure with these device when transact over the net.

BTW, i forgot to ask them whether what is the requirement for a malaysian to apply a credit card from them.... brows.gif

Maybank's BT page says ZERO processing fee... not sure if it applies to this promo 0% for 12 months BT.

Can we settle BT earlier for Maybank ?
*
if the BT is 0%, i don't find any reason to settle them earlier. hmm.gif if got extra money, i'll put it into time deposit rather than pay them.

But you still need to pay the minimum 5% every month to the special BT account, right ?
*
yes, you are right. but then you can place your extra money in the time deposit by monthly & gain some extra monthly interest & withdraw 5% every month to pay the BT...anyhow, it's still better than settle with them earlier without gain. anyway, this is my sharing point of view, maybe somebody else got better idea... tongue.gif

QUOTE(Ah hao @ Oct 28 2010, 07:51 PM)
thanks for the link, but i only found 1 small topic ONLY, it said:

"I think the air flight benefits (insurance coverage, compensation) only applicable for principal cardholder and not applicable if you buy for others. You may need to check on this further. So any card offers 1% rebate which is equivalent to AA 2x points should be fine. For AA, you can have 1-day priority booking if that concerns you. For special fare, local flight doesn’t seem to really benefits. It’s already very cheap at promo price.
However, I always heard my brother complains about this card like the priority booking."

But NO further details liao... hmm.gif

Another topic,

"ck3lam, i have checked with Citi agent n yeah u r right, for air flights benefits e.g. insurance coverage, it's only applicable for the principal cardholder. Wat did ur bro act complain abt tis card regarding priority booking? Can share more regarding this issue?"

But NO reply further details... hmm.gif

So, is there anybody else willing to share their AirAsia CC experience with us...thanks rclxms.gif

Do you purchase local or internationally frequently?
Since RM5 convenience fees is charged per way using CC, maybe open a CIMB saver account will be better? No need to pay for convenience fees but CC give you AA points.
You can compare it and see which one suits you.

thanks for the info, mostly purchase international tickets.... thumbup.gif
