QUOTE(tgeoklin @ Sep 30 2010, 07:56 AM) If you want guaranteed approval, your CRIS should show a consistent minimum over RM10K outflow per month over the past year. Minimum consistent spending over RM10,000 per month on your existing card is definitely not enough. Been spending way more than that every month in the past one year. Spent even more in the past two months but that did not help either. And i do have a hire purchase loan under my name too. Newly approved about two months ago from EON Bank.This post has been edited by MilesAndMore: Sep 30 2010, 10:28 AM |

QUOTE(chemistry @ Sep 7 2010, 03:38 AM) I also submitted application via email. The card agent seems disappeared as I couldn't reach her for a week already. Hopefully she's not a con lady QUOTE(chemistry @ Sep 16 2010, 12:24 AM) I also haven't hit 3k requirement. I used my existing cc (4 years old) to back my application. If the application is rejected, I can only accept their decision. QUOTE(chemistry @ Sep 22 2010, 02:12 AM) Received call from OCBC Credit Processing Department. Said my NRIC and cc fax copies were too dark =.= 6/9/2010 Submitted form via faxI requested to re-apply through email, and she really did give me an email! All the Customer Service officers said cannot apply via email, but this girl says can. What's going on? You guys also can try to apply through "cap@ocbc.com". You may attach the form and supporting documents in Word/PDF/JPG format. 21/9/2010 Received call from Credit Processing Team (a sweet voice lady) that my NRIC & cc photocopy were too dark, and was asked for clearer copies. I resubmitted the form via email given by her. 30/9/2010 Called OCBC Automated Self Service and was told application was successful! This is my experience with OCBC |

If what you said is true, there must be something that we are not aware of as knew a few person in your situation and there were no problem at all. One is the son of a very close family friend, who is also a student like you, with no job and just only 20 years of age. However, he does have some money to his name, though not with CIMB. Applied via his HSBC Premier, as I recalled |

QUOTE(tzeling @ Sep 30 2010, 09:58 AM) Finally someone response to my quest. Thx for ur response, Omisae0! I move ard by using car actually. Currently I am using SCB Al-Saadiq Debit MasterCard which gives me 5% on retail/pharmaceutical and 7% rebate on fuel, these promo gonna end in Dec. So I think prob I don't need the Shell Card at the moment. As for planes, I got to book for my bro as he fly often but within the state itself. I plan to apply for Shell Card after my SCB Debit Master promo end tis Dec, while for AirAsia I'm stil thinking. Nt sure if I wanna get two cards from the same bank. And there is no Citibank at my place so must pay thru GIRO. Citibank Shell only gives you 2.5% on Shell Petrol and 0.75% on others. 5% and 1.5% only if you have outstanding balance if I’m not mistaken. They have promotion last time of up to 10% rebate with outstanding balance condition of course. I think the air flight benefits (insurance coverage, compensation) only applicable for principal cardholder and not applicable if you buy for others. You may need to check on this further. So any card offers 1% rebate which is equivalent to AA 2x points should be fine. For AA, you can have 1-day priority booking if that concerns you. For special fare, local flight doesn’t seem to really benefits. It’s already very cheap at promo price. However, I always heard my brother complains about this card like the priority booking. Citibank cashback plat offers you 5% rebate for any petrol, 2% for pharmaceutical, groceries and certain bills payment, but the retail purchase/ others only 0.3%. Petrol only capped at RM600, which is RM30 rebate. In my opinion, citibank needs to come out with new benefits (they have already got many type of cards) or re-launch certain cards like what OCBC does. Like what the others said, depends on your needs. I would think OCBC Ti satisfies most people’s need. 5% on groceries, utilities bills, restaurant, petrol and 1% for the others. Maybe you need to ask yourself a few questions like i) How much do I spend each month? ii) What are the categories of my spending? Petrol, air tickets and…? Then you can find your best cc to suit you. But you said only want to apply during Dec after your current debit card promo ends, so maybe that time got other better cc offer that suits you. Received a call from a CSR insurance co.
Here is the conversation between me (M) and the CSR © C: Hi, im from (I forgot name of company). Regarding your Maybank Petronas Visa Application, we would like to OFFER you insurance coverage for 1 year worth RM200k. Yearly fee is RM300. But like it or not WE WOULD FORCE IMPOSE the RM300 fee on you. You can pay by instalment of RM10 per month. But the RM300 must be imposed for 1st year. 2nd year you can choose to cancel the policy. M: What? But I haven't take my Card yet from the bank nor activate it. How can ? C: (Starts to get rude). Why didn't you say earler! Ok, so WHAT OTHER CARDS YOU HAVE Sir? M: No other cards. C: So when are you planning of taking your credit card? If not, I will call you over and over again. M: I don't know. I haven't got any time yet. C: Ok, thank you. Now, these kind of hidden things that make me wanna cancel it before i even swipe it. Is such policy exist and do they have the right to force you to take it ? And, why do she ask me if I have another card if the offer is exclusively for the Maybank Visa Petronas application? I'm getting kinda skeptical. She dun have the CSR attitude, rude that makes me wonder the genuinity. Summore phone is Private Number.... ======================== Update: Just remembered: That is not the card I applied for This post has been edited by CyberianHusky: Oct 1 2010, 09:32 AM |

@CyberianHusky
It is a scam lah. Someone in MBB probably sold your contact details to a 3rd party. The person on the phone hard pressed to sell the insurance and it is not from MBB. (Impersonate only) Next time something like this happen challenge the person to tell you that only the bank will know. They will likely to put down the phone immediately. |

Dear all,
I've a friend who had his OCBC Titanium application declined. I'm asking this on his behalf: If he has RM150k in a current account, is it enough and possible to get OCBC to change its decison? And how to proceed to get OCBC to "change its mind" - e-mail cap@ocbc.com? He meets the income requirement and has good CRIS record, no late payment ever. Hope someone can help. They will automatically give you the rebate. Just make sure you check the receipt before signing on it. Amarin Heavenly Thai for instance, always automatically gives me the rebate whenever i pay using my HSBC credit card. Noted. Thanks!Added on September 30, 2010, 4:15 pm QUOTE(travelyew @ Sep 29 2010, 07:57 AM) Don't trust the agent, i face the same problem too. Maybe we got the same agent She said will call me back, but i didn't any call at all. I called back after 2 days, the answer really disappointed. Mind telling me how and who you appealed to until you manage to get the Titanium Card? PMs are welcome. This post has been edited by Angel On Fire: Sep 30 2010, 04:16 PM |

Anyway, i used that card to back my application too last week. By the way, i am not exactly sure if the bank can see how much we have spent on our existing credit card(s) in the past 12-month because only these are shown in our CCRIS credit report : - total outstanding as of xx/xx/xx - credit limit of each card - total active cards owned - collateral type - any missed payments in the last 12-month etc. Or probably banks can see even more information. Other than the above, it will also show the amount transacted for each month and also repayment etc. Only thing it does not show is our deposits, thus that's why additional docs are at times requested for This post has been edited by tgeoklin: Sep 30 2010, 05:51 PM |
