They charge cou fee only 2009 for CIMB and DA. For 2010 they only charge cou fee for east Malaysia and Langkawi.

However, just to share.
I have called CS few times after my application failed to ask the reason, as u faced, CS unable to tell u the reason. But the CS told me can make an appeal.
She ask me to attached the income tax statement then e-mail to cap@ocbc.com.
I have mentioned i have FD in OCBC (My FD deposit few months ago b4 their cc launch).
Nothing more.


The CL given by bank less than 2x of my salary but close with the FD amount.
So i think the reason the bank approved my card is because of FD.

U can search back which some forumer have suggested to deposit FD then apply.
U may try it..

cimb reject your application for the WC must have their reason one gua... maybe you can reapply lo when you qualify n meet their requirement dy next time.. good luck.. maybe WC is not for everyone yet.. but soon will. hehe

Not DA but CIMB. But since DA is under CIMB Group too, they probably are the same. Anyway, found this out about two years ago. Was using a supplementary CIMB Gold MasterCard then while my friend was using SCB Platinum MasterCard.

Please check issuers fee & charges or it should be printed on your statement of accounts. As far as i know BNM CC guidelines does not allow admin fee for overseas transactions to be charged without the bank notifying consumers.

19-09-2010 No problem withdrawal at Taiping SCB branch ATM.

Huh ? What are you talking about ? The banks in Malaysia do state the admin fee charged for overseas transaction clearly at the back of the back statement/their respective website.

Just call CS to guide me. The supp card form is not in Credit Card page. It is located in OCBC main website under "Tool & Info" > "Forms" as below URL.

For upgrade, cs will give u a request form that need document sech as pay slip, income tax document, etc

i'd chosen to apply for a second card that is easier without any supporting document, then later cancel my clear card

I have done 2 point redemptions from CIMB:

Last year they charged RM6.50 for the courier
This year one the courier fee is FOC

I just came back from Pavilion and obtained an instant DA VI in 50 minutes. As CIMB/DA WMC and VI are not my cup of tea, I applied for DA VI because I just want to do BT with DA. I made an extremely big swipe using my SCB cc a few days ago. The developer allowed me to charge down payment via cc.

I have never done BT before. Since CIMB Group is having BT promotion of 0% interest for 6 months without upfront or handling fee, I should take full advantage of this promotion. I have my reserve fund in FD form to settle the down payment. With this 0% interest with CIMB, I can delay making payment. My fund can still be kept in FD for 6 months to earn a little bit of interest.

CIMB staff at Pavilion kept pushing me to get both WMC and VI. But I do not really like both WMC and VI from CIMB/DA so I only chose DA VI. By the way, the card does not look appealing as it is not a shiny type.

whoa! be careful StanChart CS. Really quite incompetent. Indian guy called Joe? hmmm some months back I had a bad experience also with SCB CS called Joe when I tried to register for Online Banking and couldn't get authorization code by sms cos the SCB CS kept screwing up my mobile no. Despite me telling them my no. was 012-1234xyz when I called back few days later to enquire about the status they had the gall to ask me if my tel no. was 012-4321abc!?? The CS couldn't even note down tel nos without making a mistake! In the end I had to call them 4 times before the OB registeration was successful.

I suggest you follow up with another call to SCB CS to check on the status. Murphy's law, if things can go wrong....they definitely will go wrong when it comes to SCB CS.

ohh...ya, from the way i see, it should be your FD that helps u. for my case, my salary just raised a few mths ago, so prob I think that might be the reason that I am not qualified. I will try to apply again see.
