going thru ocbc websitebut only can see 0% balance transfer but no form or no way to apply

meaning how to apply the balance transfer after car approved?

other cars like PB got a form that can print out and fax for balance transfer
*
The form comes together with your card.

It is the time for me to choose those cards that need to be canceled. Otherwise, I just keep them in the drawer...

Maintain
1. OCBC Titanium
2. SCB
3. AMEX charge card
4. Maybank Platinum
5. AmBank Platinum
6. Eon Master and Visa (Wanted to cancel but they waived me the GST)
7. RHB PlusOne >> good for seng heng electrical products

To be considered
1. Citibank Platinum (hasn't activated)
2. UOB Platinum (they waived me)
3.
4.
5.
...
...
...

You sure got a lot of cards, which 2 cards will you be chosen if really later only 2 banks are allowed?

Talking about Garden's Premium toilet. Can bring friend enter?
Paiseh, I saw it but I never go in. tongue.gif

Sure can but you need to pay for the guest, some cc offers discounts.
EDIT: Opps, misunderstood. Thought you are saying that lounge.

QUOTE(wongpeter @ Sep 24 2010, 11:40 PM)
oic, and I was beginning to wonder why anyone would want to apply for 5, 6 or more credit cards! Say someones salary is 12k/mth and he is already getting 30k CL on his cc whats the point of getting another 5 cc's with about the same CL? No way in hell he is going to spend 6cc's X 30k = 180k in a month when his salary is just 12k/mth! I really don't see the rationale behind having 6-7 cc's! Anyone care to explain the benefits of owning a ton of plastic?
*
Different card has different benefits. Too bad there is no All-in-one card in the world. The banks increase your CL so you can spend more and they can earn more.

Mine was automatically upgraded in December last year, just before implementation of credit card GST.

Haha...need to bring along a namecard holder to store all the cc. So when need to pay for something, flip through all the cards (arrange in alphabetical order) and ask "Which card you have the most discount? Just gimme a name" rclxm9.gif

Maybe in the future there is only one ultimate card which can store all the cc in its chip, and the sales person will ask back "Sir, which card would you like to use?". Damn convenient.

My car is not made of gold, neither platinum. Just kidding.

I think normally if you wanna upgrade, you may need to hold the card for at least 1 year. Of course if you are a good spender and have good record, you no need to ask and they'll upgrade for you automatically.
Since a lot of things in citibank can be done with just a call, you can try the CS as suggested. It will be easier if you meet the above condition. But some banks will require you to fax them back a card upgrade form with your signature. I don't think they will request any income statement from you.

Depends. Before the GST, some consider credits cards like collection...

Every card has different set of strengths and weaknesses and sometimes having multiple cards allows one to leverage on those strengths while minimizing impact of the weaknesses.

The credit card can be a very powerful tool, as long as it is not abused.

But i was told that my age is the main reason why they asked for my income document. The minimum credit line can be given to the World MasterCard really is RM100k and since they do not know my exact financial status, they were having doubts granting me an unsecured credit card with such high credit line. I only have savings account at CIMB Bank. All my time deposits are at the non-GLC banks. Told them all my incomes are passive incomes from time deposits and ASB/ASW2020. They asked me if i have any FD with them but i said no. So they said the only way is to submit my income document because they have no access into other banks' system.
I do have and it is all passive income  tongue.gif  And i am not comfortable showing my FD certificates to other banks.
No. You misunderstood. It wasn't OCBC that requested for my income document. It was CIMB Bank. I tried to apply for their World MasterCard. Apparently two other people here managed to apply for the card using their HSBC Premier MasterCard and they did not have to submit their income documents at all. They both got the card in just one hour  rclxms.gif

Anyway, i initially was told that all they need is my existing credit card. They asked me how much is the credit line of my credit card and later found out that mine is eligible  thumbup.gif  They didn't even ask me if i was earning RM200,000/pa. They did however ask where do i work but i told them i am not working at the moment. I asked them if it is okay if i give them my dad's company as the place i am working in and they told me that would be fine too and that's it. They did't even ask for the company's telephone numbers. I was told to come back an hour later but when i did, i was told that their credit card centre request for my income document. I told them that is not possible as all my incomes are passive income and i am not comfortable showing them my bank statement from another bank. So i just told them to cancel it.
*
As you so aptly put it, they asked for your income statement because they probably think you are too young to be earning that much, which really has no bearing on your age but more towards your income. If you had provided such, they would gladly have given you the card. Another drawback could also be because you are not a high spender as otherwise your CRIS would have supported your application as well. But to be honest, you aren't missing anything, really!

Lastly i get my titanium cc, just share my application history:

22 aug - left my phone no. on OCBC website.
23 aug - Agent called me
25 aug - Sent all my documents.
26 aug - start process.
3 sept - Application unsuccessful. Called agent and CS few times in few days to get the reason, useless.
10 sept - get the letter from OCBC to inform my application failed.
14 sept - Called CS again. Made an appeal.
16 sept - Bank called to verify some info.
17 sept - card approved.
22 sept - received the card.

Almost a month for whole process........
However, not start use, just activate.
Later will try to use for my 1st cc....

I've been using near the maximum of my credit line in the last two months. Overseas trips helped that biggrin.gif

However, CIMB Bank credit card benefits me better than HSBC credit card. Yeah, not denying HSBC does have a lot of promotions for its credit card but all these promotions always come with strict T&C while the sort of promotion CIMB Bank has is much more straightforward and everyone can easily benefit from it. Besides, CIMB Bank World MasterCard gives 2x Bonus Points for each RM1 charged in foreign currency and the bonus points needed to redeem for shopping voucher is the lowest among all the major banks in Malaysia. This is why i am so keen on the World MasterCard as their other cards do not get 2x Bonus Points for transactions transacted in foreign currency.

To sum it all up, CIMB Bank credit card suits my lifestyle better than HSBC credit card and it is a good overall card for me. However, i am not moving any FD into CIMB Bank. Will try to apply for it again next time.

Frankly speaking, CIMB World MC's benefits are not even comparable to Platinum series offered by other banks, such as SCB.

SCB Platinum can grant you unlimited access to KLIA Plaza Premium Lounge, while CIMB World MC or VI, such a great joker, blocks you from entering airport lounges.

Besides, SCB Platinum can give you 3x points on top of 0.5% cash back for overseas transactions. You may feel SCB's admin fee on forex exchange is high but CIMB's rates are not much better. It's MBB who can give a better rate.

If I may be direct, normally your CRIS would show movement of up to 2 years in terms of charges to your cards & just a few months of charges does not signify much. Further, for WMC or VI, to be consider a high spender, you should have charge over 0.5M per annum. If you did have such record, then sure they would have approved you.

Anyway, if overseas expenditure are you usual pattern, then you can't go wrong with SCB VI, which offer 5X points. Plus its not a GLC & requires only FD to qualify, which is just right up your alley while income is not a factor. Good luck

But if you really dig CIMB's offers, give their Plat cards a try. Most of offers are applicable.

MilesAndMore: agree with winner and tgeoklin that SCB VI good for usage overseas beside much better Insurance coverage than CIMB.

You can easily qualify for SCB VI if you wish right. Only thing is the annual fees waivable?

hmmm...interested on that CIMB/ DA offer. Are the offering both VI and WMC or just choose one?
My DA CL is 24k, and HSBC more than 30K
but, my HSBC only approved and got this month...not sure if I need to wait 1 year first?

Thanks.
