Hi What's the min CL to apply for the WMC and VI via walk-in at Pavilion? This is instant card approval process right?

Thanks
*
The 1-hour instant approval for CIMB/DA WMC and VI can only be done in Pavilion or Damansara Heights from 11pm to 3pm daily (Pavilion) and Monday to Friday (Damansara Heights) by end of September. Minimum income requirement is RM200,000 per annum

- RM30,000 for HSBC credit card
- RM50,000 for Citibank credit card
- RM75,000 for credit card from all other banks

**Information provided by Rockefeller.

It is not exactly instant. They will still have their guys in the CIMB Card Centre to make some verifications first before approving you one. The whole process will take you about an hour only at most.

For instant card approval, even you have your existing card that meets the minimum CL requirement, they still want you to show your income statement to support your application.

But the other two guys who applied last week did not show their income document. They basically just gave them their existing HSBC credit card and that was it.

By the way, they also did not ask for my income document until an hour later. In fact, they initially told me they only need my existing credit card and that's it. Besides, when Rockefeller told us about the promotion CIMB Bank is having. He did say all the bank needs is our existing credit card.

Oh thanks guys. very interesting reply.

Now this is the interesting part:

- RM30,000 for HSBC credit card
- RM50,000 for Citibank credit card
- RM75,000 for credit card from all other banks

So the min CL varies according to the current bank you hold. i.e. HSBC 30k (less limit) is equiv to 50k citibank card.

is this correct?

My existing cc meets the minimum CL as mentioned by Rokefeller. When I walked in to the counter this afternoon, the staff indicated that for faster result for DA application, it would be better to submit income document. So I submitted a copy of my SCB JustOne Titanium + EA form + Master's Degree certificate. I did not receive any call from them for clarification. I only returned to the counter after 45 minutes and was informed my card would be ready in 5 minutes. Also, they served me tea during the 5-minute waiting time.

Does anyone know what's the real requirement for that?

Finally, I have received email confirmation from the bank.
“5% rebate is applicable for Utility Bills regardless of how it is paid, whether through the counter, Call n Pay, Internet or Auto-Billings, so long that the correct Merchant Category Code is used (don’t worry, this is a standard requirement by MasterCard).”

Well, this sounds more sense to me. Looks like their CS needs to be improved a lot.
*
After I re-re-recheck with a few CS, looks like OCBC Ti doesn't seems as good as it is.
Some Auto debit will have a different MCC, so it is not guaranteed that you will get the 5%. Swiping through merchant terminal is 100%. However, according to CS, so far there is no problem with utilities bills via autopay but there are exception. Some online payment may have different MCC.

For petrol station, 5% rebate only applicable for petrol and not purchase made at the corresponding shop/mart.

For groceries, so far only Giant is confirmed. Others like Tesco, Jusco, C4 may consider under departmental store MCC. You may not guaranteed to get rebate from it. The CS told me to try on these shops, and you will know from the next statement.

For dining, only restaurant (most of it) are eligible. But you will not get 5% rebate for cafe like Starbucks, coffee bean and so on.

For those who are getting the first statement this month, do share with us which merchant is entitled for 5%.

All I can say is Good Luck everyone!

As far as I know Maybank requirements are very tight and will not give you very high CL.
I think if you use HSBC Plat to apply, chances are higher.

I have activated autopay for TNB, TM, DiGi and Astro, as well as spent at Coffee Bean and Tesco. The result will be known when I receive my statement next month.

As for my first statement, I only managed to swipe the card at ESSO, Parkson and Tangs. And yes, I obtained 5% for ESSO.

A few possible factors:

1. Which card did you apply for? CIMB or DA?
2. When did you apply? During weekday office hours or weekend?

Do you think how many CS know what MCC being assigned to merchants?
And there is no way for credit card user to get this information on receipt.

Starbuck and coffee bean should be categorize under MCC 5813. Payment with OCBC Titanium should get 5% rebate.
5% rebate for dining is not only for restaurant but any transaction with MCC 5811 (caterers), 5812 (eating places or restaurant), 5813 (drinking places) or 5814 (fast food restaurants).

From this list of MCC (here),
MCC 5813 (drinking places) includes alcoholic beverages, bars taverns, cocktail lounges, nightclubs, discotheques. thumbup.gif

Yes I have checked that before. The CS told me a different thing. I don't want to argue with her as I have no proof saying whether Starbucks and coffee bean are 100% under that category, the same goes to groceries. The only way to know whether you are eligible for the 5% is to wait for the next statement after spending. Then we can judge how good this card is.

It is quite difficult and troublesome to check the cash back details given by OCBC Titanium MC, if you have done too many transactions in the particular statement month. It only shows the cumulative cash back for 1% and 5% respectively.

No. Banks won't show these to customers.

Then I guess have to do manual calculation to identify whether a particular transaction is entitled for 5% rebate or not. Gosh...

I just came back from Pavilion and obtained an instant DA VI in 50 minutes. As CIMB/DA WMC and VI are not my cup of tea, I applied for DA VI because I just want to do BT with DA. I made an extremely big swipe using my SCB cc a few days ago. The developer allowed me to charge down payment via cc.

I have never done BT before. Since CIMB Group is having BT promotion of 0% interest for 6 months without upfront or handling fee, I should take full advantage of this promotion. I have my reserve fund in FD form to settle the down payment. With this 0% interest with CIMB, I can delay making payment. My fund can still be kept in FD for 6 months to earn a little bit of interest.

you could bt to your ocbc titanium. it has a 0% BT offer as well
