Are you working in Singapore? Or somewhere else?

If you are working in Singapore, you salary is equal to MYR 1 although your salary is in Singapore Dollar.

They require your payslip, bank statement in Singapore, IC and work permit.

Ya, if your salary is SGD 1000, that will equivalent to MYR 1000, so you need at least gross salary of SGD 1500 to apply a credit card in Malaysia.

You can put your Singapore Contact number to apply the cc online also... Can't meh?

Can't because they only allow to insert 7digits number plus first 3 digits(eg:012,016) in the slot while sg have 8 digits...i sent email to their customer service regarding this, but they reply me this:pls visit our cc website and click 'apply now' then our sales officer will contact you asap... Use the manual form la. Do understand that 99.9% of the applications will be normal cases. Yours are just 0.1% of the special circumstances. Be understanding and don't think the bank need to kowtow to you. (Sorry but ... I'm just saying this frankly)

On another thought .... it probably won't be a good idea for you to always use your Malaysian cc in SG due to transaction fees. I know it requires an annual income of SGD72K (if I'm not mistaken) to qualify for SG cc but why don't you use SG debit card ?

OCBC Titanium Total cash rebate is credited on statement date. That means it's the last transaction line in your monthly statement.
Agreed that the FAQ is slightly wrong... rebate is credited in the same spending month (if before the statement date)
*
hmm that's new. When I called OCBC CS, their answer was the rebate was based on statement month and not calendar month.

So if the statement date is 11th, then rebate from 12th this month to 11th next month = RM120

y public bank so slow process application for cc? i send the application on 4/9/10 then their key it into system on 17/9/10. The cs ppl ask me to call back check status next two week. anyone know wat way can make their process more faster know results?
*
Your application is not the only application from Malaysia that they receive. The card centre handles application from throughout Malaysia.
Also understand that last week was a long holiday and many people went off for leave.

If you want it faster ... can. Apply for the credit card as a Priority Banking customer and tell them you will withdraw your "millions" if you don't get your card in 3 days. If that doesn't their attention then I don't think anything will. Or go over to Citibank and they have a 2 hour application facility but you need to drive yourself to Jalan Ampang to do this. If you expect them to serve you then it's back to the normal speed.

Goodness ... these days people are so impatient and demanding. I used to wait like an average 2-4 weeks for my credit card to arrive and even on few occasions waited up to 2-3 months. (Because the particular credit card is so popular at that point of time) And I had to wait between 6-12 months after started working before able to apply to cc. Now, many thinks it is their right to get a credit card just after 1 month of working.

I have been following this thread for a long time .... I find many use this thread on how to facilitate their application or how to get more CL. Sometimes it borders between a question and demands. doh.gif

Wonder if anyone is able to check SCB cc application status through phone self check system?

After IC number was entered and confirmed, it was directed to customer service instead of telling you the status.

It's confirmed cash back is shown on the statement date for the entire statement month. With reference to the first statement I received, there are 2 types of cash back (1% and 5%) which are shown as lump sum amount separately.

This is better than Alliance Bank, where cash back in the current statement month will only be reflected on the following statement month. I encountered a long arguement with Alliance Bank on this matter when I cancelled my Alliance cc.

Last time when I first applied for Maybank CC, I told them that I need it in a week's time because I'll be flying off by next week.
And that guy got my card ready in 1 week's time, but I have to self collect it at the branch.

As long as it is classified as utility or phone bill, 5% cash back is valid regardless of where you pay the bill.

Yah it happens sometimes. Dont bother trying to get hold of the CS - the waiting period is too long. But however, at certain times an automated voice will tell you your status.

It's sad that ocbc online banking don't allow bill payment using credit cards. The only way to earn your rebate is to make it an auto-pay.
