No. You can apply for this card even if you are only a small employee. Minimum annual income requirement is RM60,000 only.

Don't be too surprised. Went to UOB Bank to open a Basic Savings Account but was advised to open the E-Account instead. This E-Account comes with minimum balance fee which i do not like. So i insisted on having the Basic Savings Account but they told me they usually only open this account for their existing customers such as those already have a mortgage, personal loan, bancassurance or credit card with them. They told me if i insist on opening the Basic Savings Account, they would need an approval from the branch manager. It was around CNY and they the branch manager was on leave. They told me to come back a week later which i did not.

If a bank does not want to open any Basic account, you have the right to ask for a letter stating the reason why and with the letter, you can then file a complaint with the Financial Mediation Bureau.

Hi,

I'm planning to apply a credit card from Maybank. I'm a fresh grad and already started working for almost 3 month. Can any sifus advice me whether maybank is a good choice and how to apply. Other than that, what document should i provide other than my IC and salary slip? I read in the website, for fresh grad should provide employment offer letter and degree cert. Is it true?

Thanks.

Does it really work ? I think many will complain Citibank. Many of you also know that Citibank won't open an account for you unless you have an existing relationship with them (credit card, loan etc.).

This only applies to basic accounts because banks are required by BNM to open basic accounts for anyone who wants to have one. I think the bank can reject if you want to open more than one of the same type with them.

wanna ask u guys opinion.
my keliq wants to use my name to apply for CC bcoz his name got blacklisted by BNM for being a guarantor for his fren. then his friend ffk n affects his name also.
shud i help him or not? any risk? i dont hv CC yet
*
I marvel at such questions. btw I need a guarantor for a RM200K loan. If you are feeling particularly munificent maybe you can stand as guarantor for me. Absolutely zero risk...... for me that is. tongue.gif

How can that happen? Maybe you applied for the cc and forgot all about it and somehow the cc got lost in the mail so they are now charging you for the GST. I thought some of the users here mentioned that the cc can be activated even if it is sent to a fake address! Maybe some scammer has activated the cc on your behalf.

One you have signed the application form and submitted it, you have already agreed to accept the T&Cs.

the agent has the duty to bring the salient terms to my attention and if the agent gave contradicting position, the bank wil be bound by it smile.gif

try to avoid maybank la bro, they dont really value their existing customers much, try cimb or public bank for 'long term relationship'
