Hi there!
Can I please check with those who have been using HSBC cards- I got my plat yesterday, but then start worrying about the annual fee pulak...Of course, when apply, the agent said that the Govt tax is absorbed for Plat and annual fee is free (I know, should never believe) --> but anyhow, can I know, how easy is it to get annual fee waiver from HSBC for Plat? And AFAIK they don't 'absorb' the tax!
Thanx
*
that's one of my concern too. If they do not absorb the Govr Tax, I will call to complain the agent (as i still retain his business card)!

Added on September 9, 2010, 9:38 amam planning to apply the citibank cash rebate card

Do bear in mind that the cash back is only given to grocery and petrol purchases done during weekends. Besides, there is a maximum cash back poll of RM150,000 per month.
*
that i think is quite good compared to them restricting the usage during weekdays as we normally shopping during weekends..

Between Citibank Cash Back and OCBC Titanium, OCBC Titanium is no doubt the better card. It is a pretty easy call  biggrin.gif
*
mind sharing why? as i still think citibank cash back plat is better.

Citbank : Rebate need to accumulate up to RM50 before it's given back to you.
OCBC : Rebate are given instantaneously, don't need to accumulate

.........

of that only applies to titanum

was referring to platinum

hmm why is the platinum's rebate lesser than the titatium?

The statement date = the date the card is issued to you.
Can be change based on request... to the CS team of the bank.
*
i tried asking DA to change which they said cannot be done once issued. shakehead.gif

applied UOB, HSBC, Citi , EON and SCB during matta fairs.

So far EON was the fastest to approve my card, i.e. i received the sms notification on Monday. SCB was too approved on Monday but I had to call to find it out today. Others remain processing.

btw hows the SCB benefit like? am just gona use the free cash and then say bye to it... hehe !

as regards EON matta card, am not going to use just entertain the sales and applied for its benefit is not as great compared to others!

All 5 got cash back upon activation?

SCB cash back should be upon your first swipe.  SCB normally won't have those evil hidden terms like Citibank (cash back accumulate to RM50, need balance brought forward certain amount, etc) or HLB (cash back upon first swipe only credited after 3 months).
*
i suppose except, EON bank which I do not intend to activate anywaysss smile.gif

regardless on the cash back term, I am going to fully utilise it and say bye to them and wil jz keep my DA and OCBC (which i w il soon apply)

Let's say there's a stall accepting credit card application.  With our info and photocopied IC, what kind of damage can they do if it's a scam?  Can they apply for an actual cc with all of our details except the address, and when the cc arrives at their doorstep, they activate it and start using the card?

What precautions can we take to ensure they are not scammers?  Even if we look at their ID and call up the bank to check, their IDs can be fake too...

this is a good question !
i suppose we are protected if the signature appearing on the impugned transactions is forged
