Now this a total turnoff. At 10% it would be better off if we get a 4mb line. It doesn't make a good sense at all.

Cap not implemented yet, but they might change the cap since people complain. but 60 GB is really plenty for most people that 2GB a day plenty of video to watch. One thing good is that upload and download speed is same unlike streamyx its 512kb up, also ping times very very low look at some ping test its around2-10 ms which good for gaming.

local datacenters are complete ripoffs, promise you 10mbps shared but if you constantly use high bandwidth they ask you to buy dedicated bandwidth at nearly RM300 per 1mbps... i think the crazy prices alone would deter people from using the local datacenters as proxies constantly.

Haha yeah.. experienced that before. Still, you can purchase packages with a monthly quota rather than by xx mbps (offered only by resellers of course).

If only international traffic is capped I should get to work on that Unifi dc++ hub soon tongue.gif I'm kinda busy IRL at the moment, see how things go and what MX510 has to tell us after the TM event thingy

Oh lol. Capping enforced? That's a 10% detected!

I'm gonna wait for an official clarification from TM before making a decision. 10% is definitely a no-no.

Hello people, I have a decision to make here. I am currently living in Setapak area and the Unifi just arrived here with TM people promoting at my college just now.

Problem here is, I just registered Cool Uni 2 days ago and am living in a new condo where I am still waiting for the ports. I have 4 housemates and my question is whether or not I should continue to wait for the Cool Uni with 4mb (if the copper lines here support) and have an uncapped bandwidth OR I subscribe for the more expensive 10VIP Unifi with bandwidth.

I haven't read a lot about the UniFi, but is it worth the bandwidth cap sacrifice and better quality? I wanna know if UniFi really promises the consistency and speed it offers? Or should I just use the 4mb Cool Uni pack?

One thing to take into consideration is that there are 4 users in my house.

I am having a tough time making this decision here. Please help me out. Thanks!! biggrin.gif

@orenzai

90gb / 30 / 5 = each person can only download 600mb data / day
or it will be the same if you're on 1mb streamyx.

Do you like it or not?

What if you got a 24/7 BT housemate?

Bro, i'm in Danau Kota here. Applied 4mb 2 months ago and they just told me yesterday port is full around Setapak, Gombak to Sg. Buloh. I have a hunch you will have the same problem as mine. Getting a Unifi 5mb is not a solution too if they are enforcing the 10% cap. You and your housemates can kill each other over the bandwiths.

Hey guys. I just notice my IPTV is not working. I turned it on, it got connected to DHCP server and all is well, but it come up with a Log In screen asking for Username and Password. I called Unifi Tech Support and key in those info but still not working. It keeps coming back to the same Log in Screen. Unifi Tech Support said will escalate this to stage 2 tech support. Is anyone having this particular problem ?

(getting a little out of topic)

those resellers with monthly quota pacakges are also at the mercy of the datacenters, NO ONE is able to sustain a good amount of speed for long (instead of bursting every now and then) even without hitting your monthly quota without the datacenters getting on their tail. ive had quite bad experiences as i host all my driven tv show episodes locally, kept getting quotes of nearly 3k to over 4k monthly for the kind of speeds i need.

Hi all, i just got my unifi VIP5 installed. I find it strange that my megaupload/rapidshare download speeds are worst then my old streamyx 1mb line.

Average speeds at 38KB/s only! My streamyx used to give me 105KB/s.

Anyone here having the same problem?

Bandwidth-wise, it can be adjusted among my friends. I talked to them about it. They say that it wont be a problem. We'll only download when its approaching end of the month and we still have bandwidth. Nobody is using BT btw. I download using RS premium.

What exactly is the 10% cap all about? You mean as in 10% of the users now are already reporting of the bandwidth cap?

What I'm pondering about is how consistent is the 10mb? and pbc06 said that the RS speeds are slower than the normal streamyx? What about international sites like BBC and etc? Latency-wise?

I have tonnes of questions that those resellers cannot answer me. Yet, I know so little about this UniFi. Thank you so much for the info notworthy.gif

My Unifi phone regularly does not work (getting engage tone calling out or in). Everytime I complain i was asked to restart the BTU. This is not the solution as it happens daily or 2 days once (only lately facing the phone problem). How can i get TM to rectify this?
