does AMEX charge card user need to pay rm50?
RM50 it's applied to credit card only or charge card also?
*
Both type of cards are subjected for RM 50 GST.

Debit card on the other hand is not subjected.

The minimum CL for platinum is RM20k so it's a bit difficult. But with so many people cancelling their credit cards because of the tax, there may be banks that are desperate enough.

Some banks may need RM20k. I am sure most bank will accept you as they are desperate to retain customers now.

The more important question is when is your date due ?
Statement date is merely a cut-off date for the bank to generate your cc bill for the current month.

just got my CIMB Touch n GO Visa card biggrin.gif

Expiry date on 11/14
so means if I cancel before November 2010, I wont need to pay the RM50 tax right?

Did CIMB charge you RM 10 on the T&G Zing card? CIMB offer me the T&G Plat Visa (which comes with the Zing card) & charge me the RM 10, I cancelled the card outright.

As I know Maybank did not charge customer on the zing card issuance (that linked with the credit card for reload).

You can go for EON Bank, StanChart, UOB or MBF , which they only require 15k CL to eligible for their platinum series. 20k CL will give you more access to bank like citibank, mbb, cimb, rhb, ambank, hongleong, etc.. 30k and you'll get HSBC and that was the highest requirement i believe in plat series.
hope this helps. good luck thumbup.gif

If you don't fulfill the income requirement but hold a cc that is more than 12 months with CL meeting the minimum CL set by the respective bank, you will still be qualified for a Plat cc.

Now SCB Plat cc only RM 60k per annum requirement? Looks like they dropped their standard already on Plat, maybe to give way for their Visa Infinite or attract more users.
