If you do your math...

Starbucks purchase price say RM15.00
After Discount 10% RM13.50
After Rebate 10% RM12.15

more like 19% biggrin.gif

Discount - given by the retailer at point of sales
Rebate - given by the bank usually at statement time

Thank you, exactly the answer I'm looking for.

Maybe you can check below pages:
http://www.contactlessnews.com/2008/10/07/...pplication-card

QUOTE
INSIDE Contactless, Cubic Transportation Systems and Visa have developed a multifunction contactless payment card that supports both Visa payWave payments and Cubic’s NextPASS fare collection software that meets contactless fare media standards established by the American Public Transportation association. The new system was unveiled at APTA’s International Transit Expo currently underway in San Diego, Calif.

INSIDE’s proof-of-concept demonstration showed how a single multi-application card based upon the company’s MicroPass 4003 chip platform can be used to conduct contactless payments on both a retail POS terminal and on a Cubic transit fare collection device. [...]

According to INSIDE, having a resident transit application on a general-purpose payment card enables it to be used like a native transit card. The transit payment system treats it just as a regular transit card, and is able to perform all the normal front-end processing. Because of its intelligence, the transit application on the card is able to cope with highly complex fare schedules based on distance, zones and time, for example, as well as various schemes for enabling riders to transfer between multiple transit lines.

QUOTE
Proprietary Credit-based: Proprietary Credit-based APMs operate proprietary platforms that complete sales transactions by offering the consumer credit terms.  They operate exclusively without the domain of the credit card networks.  Examples of this type of APM are Bill Me Later, PayPal Pay Later, and eLayaway®.  Under this model, the APM grants credit and later invoices the consumer for any purchases.  The APM then pays the merchant via ACH less any applicable fess.  Generally speaking, consumers are granted credit during a brief application process the first time they check-out choosing that APM.  Consumers may also apply for an account by going to the APMs Web site.

Yes. She can apply another Platinum credit card with other bank using her existing Platinum card with 30k of credit limit. It could be hard for HSBC Platinum VISA though. HSBC Group is known to be very selective in granting new credit card worldwide.

Hopefully more banks will have similar offer soon. So far we only know Hong Leong Bank, EON Bank, Bank Rakyat and Affin Bank can waive the credit card tax ...

If you don't believe what we say about HSBC ... you can try it yourself and tell us.
Min CL to get World Card is RM100K. (Non negotiable)

It's quite different with HSBC. Your friend can try but i am almost certain that her application for a HSBC VISA Platinum will be declined. As said earlier, HSBC is known to be very selective in issuing new credit card. This does not apply only to HSBC Malaysia but HSBC in all other countries as well such as HSBC UK and HSBC India. Now in the UK, fresh application for a HSBC credit card from those who do not have any current account with HSBC will be thrown to the dustbin right away. No kidding !

Did you repay fully before due date? Or you did cash advance before?
