QUOTE(SnoWFisH @ Dec 21 2009, 10:24 AM) This is interesting because I called Direct Access, the CS say that they are still waiting for bank negara instructions. They advised me to cancel the cards if I'm not using them actively, and reapply back when things are more "assured". I think they're already fedup with persuading people to keep their cards |

if you have balance in the card, the banks will ask you to pay up in full before letting you cancel the card. Otherwise they will not let u cancel it at all.

lol @ your idea. I think you should make a fuss if they charge you late charge fees but don't be too harsh on them. After all, the system is new.

not sure about that but once you upgrade, you have to wait a minimum 6 months before applying another increase.
btw, isn't the RM50 tax supposed to be charged to the credit card on the card "renewal date"? Mine's due in February and still no charges. |

depends on how and if you have any use of the card. I have 3 cards and more than enough points rebates to pay for GST on all cards.

Amex slightly better but the disadvantage is Amex is not accepted everywhere. As for other banks, I'm not too sure.

QUOTE(princess_autumn87 @ Mar 2 2010, 05:18 PM) it is recommended to use amex as this will "encourage" you to settle the bill in full payment every mth b4 due date to avoid high interest charge rather than carrying forward yr oustanding balance mths to mths correct me if I'm wrong, but doesn't Amex have the lowest interest rate among all local credit cards? 9% vs 12-18% |

hey guys, I'm in a bit of a dilemma here. I canceled my RHB card last year, before November...can't remember exactly when. But last month I kena annual charges...called CS and he canceled it. This month I kena late charges over that annual charges. WTF
wat to do now? I canceled the card already but why is the bank still sending me statements every single month? Is this how they make money? All the nonsense bullsh1t charges even after you canceled a card? I feel like sending them a legal letter already This post has been edited by Aeon_Clock: Mar 25 2010, 03:13 PM |

QUOTE(cute_boboi @ Mar 25 2010, 03:36 PM) It is always good to have a black and white trail. Do you have any letter that you submit or fax it ? If you tel call in, do you have the date and time and the CS person name you spoke to ? If you walk in counter, do you record down the queue number, counter number, CS name on desk and date & time ? the CS did not give me any paper about the cancellation of the card. She just cut the card in front of me, asked me to sign a paper and that's it. How can I get them to stop from ever sending me anything on credit cards again?I encounter this many times, for these request waiver or cancel card or dispute, always write down the details. So, when you are in this situation, just submit email/letter with the details: e.g. I called in 03-20208888 on 20th Nov 2009, 10:35am and spoke to Ms. Susan. She confirmed over the phone that my CC card (1234-5678-9876-5432) is cancelled. Therefore, please check in your system and revert back the amount. all cards I canceled are like this. Not only this bank....Citibank and Maybank also same. Until now my card is still listed on their system. But RHB is the only one to keep charging me nonsense.

QUOTE(yssee85 @ Mar 25 2010, 04:53 PM) I feel angry with RHB service.I had apply RHB credit card but i didn't activated my card.Last week i went back to my hometown and received a statement showing that RM 50 (gov service tax)already charged into my statement!. Bank Negara did mention that new applicants will be charged RM50 upfront...I angry because they charged RM 50 on me,and...and..and this payment already due 2 month,i scared it will affected my ccris . I got call the card center to waive this service fee,but the officer said this fee cannot be waive... Maybe this system is flawed like that...only RHB will know if its activated or not, but Bank Negara who charged you the GST only needs to know if you're holding the card. They don't care if you used/activated it. |

that counter girl should've just left the card be during processing. Never have I seen before anybody simply pulling out a credit card while its being processed. Its like turning on your computer...then pulling the plug for nothing. Why couldn't she just made a 2nd swipe on the forgotten item?
