QUOTE(Syd G @ Apr 9 2010, 12:54 PM) If only it's that simple You mention flat rate, why there is an issue of compounding interest? One time charge = flat rate. So it's 5% flat p.a. Assume balance transfer amount is RM10000. 10000 Loan Amount 36 Number of payments in loan agreement (eg: monthly for 5 years = 60) 3 Number of year in loan agreement 12 Number of payment periods in a year (eg: monthly installments = 12) 5.00% Nominal Annual Interest Rate RM319.44 Value of Each Payment 0.78% Periodic Interest Rate 9.3% Annual Percentage Rate (APR) 9.72% Effective Annual Interest Rate (EIR) If you have a 9% credit card (like Maybank Amex, why bother doing BT?) QUOTE(wufei @ Apr 9 2010, 06:52 PM) It means that assuming you're loaning RM10k 5%/year flat ate loan paying ~RM320 monthly for 3 years, is equivalent to 10k 9.3%APR (compounding interest w monthly rest) loan of the same period. Try downloading this file and see : http://www.vertex42.com/Links/go.php?urlid=file-ccpayoffcalc (Credit Card Payment Calculator) Enter Current Balance as 10k, interest rate at 9.3 and monthly payment at RM320. Look at total interest - should be around 1498.23, which is almost the same as total flat rate 14.99% over 3 years period. If you have the Maybank Amex Card (9%APR), it would be better not to BT to that package.. if you have a 16.5% card, you'll only save 7.2% instead of 11.5%. Aeon CC is not recomended.
Their CS & system are s**ks.... They can still charge you AF after one year you cancelled thier CC. This is because their poor system management, the statements still keep sending to you monthly showing everything zero. No matter how many times of calls and letters being sent to them its still the same. |

1. I don't patron fast food restaurants
2. I don't pay small amount using cc 3. Using cc for small amount at KFC counters will slown down the process, hence not FAST anymore |

guys, some question about cash advance from credit card.
lets say i have a credit limit of only rm3k. already used rm1k. so there is a balance of rm2k. according to the cc agreement book, it say "50% of credit line & subject to available credit balance or whichever that is lower" does that mean i can only take 50% of rm2k (available credit balance) , or 50% of 3k (full credit)? thanks. sorry for any error as i`m typing with one hand |

So we can actually pay by sticking the card (only with Paypass feature) to the terminal and it will save a lot of time. However, nobody seems to know how to use it. Not even the cashier |

I tried to use at KFC once but the cashier said it is spoilt. Somemore I purposely wanna try the Paypass of CIMB cc. Another time tried at Giant, the Paypass like not working even when I tap the cc to it. More like a white elephant.
