I got rejected by Standard Chartered for their Credit Card and Personal Loan.

The representative said that because I don't have any loan or other cards so the bank sees me as high risk.

Does that me I have to get a car loan first ??

not really. so far i know scbb credit security dpmt has slightly higher and tighter rules in approving credit facility.

If you have strong income supporting documents should not be a problem. or u shall start to apply local banks first like cimb, mbb, before getting the overseas banks.

I think MBB is even stricter than SCB, credit card wise. Well, at least to me.

If you don't have a loan or a credit card,so it means that you don't have a record with CCRIS..means that they cant trace any proof of income from you..and they label you as high risk..

Getting a car loan first will certainly help, because it requires a guarantor,in which cc doesn't need one..

Otherwise, just try EON,Alliance,Affin,Public or any other local banks(except Maybank)..it will be easier than SCB..

1. I don't patron fast food restaurants
2. I don't pay small amount using cc
3. Using cc for small amount at KFC counters will slown down the process, hence not FAST anymore

For point 2 and 3, I dont care so much. As long as I can get discount, why not. tongue.gif

Yes they do have a quota..but actually this year is abit more easier to apply credit card, due to the RM50 GST...so its like there is no quota at all..every day of the month is easy to apply.. rclxms.gif
