hi guys..
i just applied for a CC with CIMB Bank..
I just received it last saturday.
Here's the thing, don' really understand about the CCs and stuff but..
If i make a urchase of RM100 today.. when is the latest date i have to pay back to bank?
If statement comes on 25th of October means i have until 9th of november to pay only?

one more Q is what if the postman lost the CC statement.. then not my fault right.

THanks!
*
if the statement is lost, its not your fault but u will still be charged late payment if u dont pay.
but u can call to bank and request for waiver.

u could ask the bank to 'adjust' ur cc statement date earlier or later.
let's say u didn't received ur statement in 5 days after the statement date, call up ur bank to ask to resend, u can always check ur cc on internet & pay b4 the due date smile.gif

Hello guys. I'm 14 years old this year and i decided to get a prepaid credit card because i want to do a spot of online shopping. My parents refuse to order things for me ( guess they're too paranoid... tongue.gif  ) and i don't qualify for a credit card. Somehow, MOL Freedom prepaid card came to my favour. I have surfed the net for some information and i hope i can get help here  . Besides, i also have a few queries which i would like to ask after reading several forums such as MOL Forum.

Here are my questions :

1) Where can i apply for / buy the prepaid CC if it isn't available in the 7-11 outlet in my area?

2) After posting the application form, how long have i have to wait for it to be activated and for the PIN code to be sent to me?

3) Some are complaining that MOL Freedom fails to be verified with PayPaL. Is this true? If so, how to verify it?

4) Do all 7-11 outlets have the starter pack of MOL Freedom Prepaid CC for sale? Some are complaining that the outlets in their area do not have it.

Hope to get some answers soon. Thanks  laugh.gif  laugh.gif

The product you mentioned is not called a prepaid credit card but instead a debit card. (Thus the prepaid nature) This is not the right thread to post your questions as there's a debit card thread in this forum.

Look for it k ?

You can always check your e-statement and monitor your unbilled transactions and spending online. It shouldn't be an excuse for not making payment promptly. smile.gif

I did that to my Alliance cc too. I asked the bank to adjust the payment due date to 1st or 2nd every month, in tandem with my other CCs. However, not all banks are flexible enough to accommodate this request.

Well not everyone is tech savvy, so it can be a valid reason. I would know, I've seen ppl write in to request for interest waiver with the excuse of statements always arriving late laugh.gif

"Statements Arriving Late" is definitely not an acceptable excuse. Bank has already given you 20-day interest free plus another 3-day grace period. The statement shouldn't take more than 20 days to reach your house. On the other hand, "Statement Never Arrived" could be accepted once but not many times. biggrin.gif

Thanks for the clarification bro. Will clear the annual fee thingy with them and if confirmed no waiver, I'll just cancel the two cards. I have the Petronas card as my main CC. When picking up the cards, the officer actually told me 2 years of fee waiver, but that needs to be confirmed.  But I want to apply for another card as backup after the cancellation, and the AMEX Gold looks pretty enticing. Free for life, 5x points for petrol, books, etc. The DA Mastercard looks ok too. Which one is better?
*
After deliberating, I've decided to convert my MBB MC and MBB Amex Gold to both the Ikhwan cards, Petronas and Amex, as I want to focus only on one points system, both on TP. Backup card will be DA MC. Sending the app tomorrow. Thanks guys!

Yea, I suppose it makes more sense to say statement did not arrived rather than saying it was late. Still, I've seen someone successfully waiver his interest with that excuse. Probably cause he was a big shot and an important client to the bank laugh.gif

It is very subjective, depending on efficiency of banks. It could be within a week, weeks, or even months.

Based on my most recent experience, I received Citibank cc in 3 days, Alliance and SCB in 2 weeks and Amex in 1 month.

It is advisable to apply a prepaid / debit card that is linked to your saving account.
I used MOL Freedom few years back but not now anymore.
This is to avoid the hassle of topping up the credit into your card before you charge it.
I am using RHB Cash Connect debit card ( I have an account with RHB) and it works perfectly well with paypal.
I managed to get it verified through rhb online.
Hope it helps.

Is anyone using the Youth card from Citibank?

Call up cs, see if they can transfer your points to the Petronas card before terminating the Classic.
